Behind the house you can set out into the vast nature of the coastal landscape! Thanks to the in-house 'subtropical' swimming pool, our apartment is worth a visit at any time of year. In addition, a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, a children's playground, and a table tennis room are available to you directly in your holiday complex. So that you can relax well on vacation and lack nothing, we completely renovated and furnished our apartment to a very high standard in 2021. IN-HOUSE SWIMMING POOL AND SAUNAS: The in-house, “subtropical” swimming pool with a pleasant water temperature of approx. 28 degrees is the heart of the complex and is available to holiday guests exclusively and completely free of charge. It has an impressive size of approx. 70 sqm and was recently completely redesigned, so you can look forward to a high-quality atmosphere. In addition, our guests have the opportunity to use the two "sauna and relaxation areas" for a minimal fee. Here you will find two different saunas (including relaxation room, lockable lockers, changing and shower facilities). BEACH AND RECREATION:
In Duhnen, you can expect a beach as far as the eye can see - right on your doorstep. The kilometre-long, fine-sand beach, the Wadden Sea and the North Sea can be reached quickly and easily on foot from our holiday flat in about 5-7 minutes. Just walk down a cross street and you are already there: right in the centre of Duhn and the numerous beach accesses. On the Duhn sandy beach, children and adults alike will enjoy swimming in the clean, gently sloping water. Splashing around, swimming, building sandcastles, diving, playing, surfing, sailing, walking for hours or just lying relaxed in the sand or in your own beach chair (already included with us!) - the choice is yours. There is also a special and separate animation beach and even our own "stadium by the sea", where various beach sports fields are located and a regular animation and event programme also takes place from May to September.
WATT AND SEA:
In addition to the fantastic Duhn North Sea beach, the Wadden Sea - which, by the way, is part of the largest Wadden Sea in the world and has even been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 2009 - is of course the absolute highlight of the region. At low tide, you have the unique opportunity to walk on the seabed and make interesting discoveries. A walk to the tidal flats, where you can take a relaxing bath in the often warm water, is particularly worthwhile. A walk on the mudflats is extremely healthy and stimulates the entire body organism. We also highly recommend taking part in one of the many guided tours of the mudflats. These range from guided tours for nature lovers and family tours to the "amber hunt in the mudflats". In addition, event tours with Neptune baptism etc. take place on various dates throughout the year. Almost all year round, you also have the opportunity to explore the Wadden Sea by horse-drawn carriage and mudflat wagon and to make an excursion across the seabed to the island of Neuwerk.
HARBOUR AND FLAIR - TYPICALLY NORTH GERMAN:
Cuxhaven is often called the 'gateway to the wide world'. After all, there are several important ports here, such as the Seaport, the American Port and the Cutter & Fishing Port. Tourists are always fascinated by the huge container ships and freighters. A stroll to the cutter harbour is particularly impressive, where you will see an impressive sight when the many crab and deep-sea cutters lie side by side in the harbour basin. Here you also have the opportunity to buy crabs, fish and other sea products freshly caught directly from the cutter! Cuxhaven also has a berth for luxury liners, from which various emigrant ships set sail for the "New World" back in the day. Today, in addition to large container ships, you can also marvel at the England ferry and, above all, huge cruise ships like the Queen Mary II. Some of these "giant ships" are on their way to Hamburg, others dock directly in Cuxhaven and set off from here for the rest of the world.

There's always something going on in Duhnen. Various sporting activities such as surfing, golf, horse riding, water skiing, bowling, etc. make for an exciting active holiday. If the weather is bad, there are numerous cultural events to keep you entertained. There are many events in Cuxhaven each year, from concerts with shanty choirs and sea shanties to spectacular shows, theatre and concert performances by many well-known artists. In summer there are even up to 3 spa concerts daily. Other event highlights include the mudflat festival, the world-famous Duhn mudflat race, the summer evening by the sea, the winegrowers' festival, the Cuxhaven medieval spectacle, etc. Also worth a visit are Fort Kugelbarke, the Wreck Museum, the Aeronauticum, Ritzebüttel Castle, Bederkesa Castle, the Learning and Show Shipyard, the Museum Ship, the Natureum, the zoo right in the spa gardens and excursions to Helgoland (duty-free shopping), Bremerhaven and the Hanseatic cities of Bremen, Stade and Hamburg. In Duhnen you can either spend a relaxing beach or wellness holiday, a sporty active holiday or a sociable family holiday. There is something for every taste. Due to the attractive and central location of your holiday flat, you will find yourself directly in the centre of Duhnen - the absolute centre of the North Sea spa - after just a few minutes' walk. Here you will find everything a holidaymaker's heart desires: various bars, cafés, ice cream parlours and restaurants (from home-style, typical North German, international to luxurious top-class gastronomy with two Michelin stars) as well as numerous shops, department stores, boutiques, galleries and souvenir shops are waiting to be discovered by you. The harbour and shipping have a long tradition in Cuxhaven/Duhnen and give the town its typical charisma. Mixed with the often luxurious Art Nouveau buildings, Duhnen is a high-quality and incredibly varied holiday resort that has nevertheless managed to retain the flair of "the good old days".

The climate on the North Sea coast in and around Duhnen is exceptionally healthy. AHOI ADVENTURE AND WAVE POOL:
Our guests don't really have to worry about swimming: after all, our large, in-house swimming pool is available to you free of charge. But if you want to take a dip in the sea water (and the North Sea is too cold for you), then you should pay a visit to the Duhner Ahoy adventure pool. Here you can enjoy seawater heated to 28 to 32 degrees Celsius at any time of year and glide into waves up to 80 cm high every 20 minutes. There is also an impressive sauna area with a total of 7 different saunas, a sauna garden and a panorama sauna with a unique sea view. Other highlights in the Ahoy pool include an outdoor pool with a current channel, whirlpools, the spa with bubble loungers and a waterfall, a children's paradise, a giant slide, etc. In addition, the Ahoi-Bad has a fitness centre and a thalasso & wellness centre, which offers a wide range of massages and cosmetic treatments.
INFORMATION FOR GOLFERS:
The 18-hole golf course in Cuxhaven is considered one of the most charming courses in Germany !!! The 62 ha golf course was built in a typical North German landscape and is playable almost all year round.
