Here you can stay with family, friends or colleagues above the roofs on the southern slope of the village.

We offer all our guests the Hochkonig Card, one card, many discounts.
The center is 10 min walk or 2 min drive.
Ski and hiking bus at the corner of the street (50m). The gondola is 1,4 km from the chalet.
In the center of the village there is a Spar, a delicious bakery and a few local restaurants. There are also take-away facilities.
Our chalet (189 m2) offers sleeping accommodation for up to 13 people with 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms where bath and bed linen are included in the price.
At Tauernhaus Sonnblick, relaxation and well-being come first. Equipped with everything that makes a perfect holiday even better: Finnish Sauna, infra red, bath or the relaxation room. You will feel as comfortable as at home and still be on holiday.
We have 4 terraces, 3 covered spacious parking spaces and 1 closed garage box.
GROUND FLOOR
On the ground floor you will find the entrance through our ski room. Here you have a ski stand, ski boot heating and enough space for your coats and helmets.
On this floor you will also find a toilet and a laundry room with washing machine and dryer.
For those who want some entertainment in the evening or on a rainy day, we have also thought of that! The multimedia room on this floor has a 65-inch smart TV. Challenge each other on the PlayStation or just play one of the classic board games !
You will also find in this room an XL bunk bed (90 x 210 cm) with a sofa bed of 140cm x 200cm and en-suite bathroom with rain shower and washbasin. The room is equipped with a wardrobe and the night lights have a USB charger.
ENTRANCE AND SLEEPING AREA
The 1st room at the front, is the perfect family room, and can easily accommodate 3 people. It has a double bed (140cm x 200cm). The dream lounge sofa with a box spring mattress is also a comfortable bed (90cm x 200cm).
The 2nd room at the front is a good room with a double bed (180cm x 200cm) which can also be put apart to make 2 single beds. This room is equipped with a desk, a 40 inch smart TV, wardrobe and night lights with USB charger. This room offers access to the terrace and a wide view over the valley with its 3 large windows.
The 3rd room on the side has a double bed (180cm x 200cm). It is equipped with a desk, a 40 inch smart TV, wardrobe and night lights with USB charger.
On this floor is a shared bathroom with rain shower, sink and toilet. This is accessible via the night hall.
LIVING SPACE
This floor of the house is designed as living space! This floor consists of a spacious kitchen, a dining room, a lounge and a relaxation corner.
Tauernhaus Sonnblick is a self-service house. The kitchen is fully equipped with the most luxurious appliances to prepare meals for a larger group. While friends and family linger at the bar or on the aperitif terrace, you can cook at the central island. The kitchen has 4 ovens (grill - hot air - conventional and warming oven) and a touchscreen induction cooking system with 5 zones. Of course a microwave, a steam oven and an XL dishwasher cannot be missed. In addition there is a spacious fridge with 3 freezer drawers. Drinks can be stored in the integrated wine cooler under the kitchen island.
The dining area offers a beautiful view of the Hochkönig and gives access to the outdoor lounge. The table is 3.6 metres long and offers ample and comfortable seating for 14 people. There are also 2 highchairs available for babies and toddlers.
And when the weather is nice you can eat outside. And what is better than to enjoy the sun from the terrace in front of the door. With a BBQ, table of 3.6 meters and view of the mountains.
The lounge and reading area are a perfect place to relax or unwind with a panoramic view!
On this floor you will also find the master bedroom, bathroom with bath, rain shower and separate toilet.
This is the ultimate bedroom with a double bed (180cm x 200cm). This room is equipped with a desk, a 40 inch smart TV, 3 door wardrobe and night lights with USB charger. This room offers a wide view over the valley and the village.

ENVIRONMENT
The mountain calls ... in the heart of the Alps, in the middle of the impressive mountain chain of Steinemes Meer and the massive Hochkönig massif lies our small and beautiful village. Mühlbach am Hochkönig can be described as a rough diamond. A little undiscovered, but with so much to offer.
This village has a rich history. Over 4000 years ago, the Illyrians settled here to search for copper. Until the end of the 19th century copper mining dominated the life of the local population. Nowadays, people come here to enjoy nature and the many sports and leisure activities available.
The village is a place where cordiality is still important. Warm, sincere, respectful and lively. Amidst the colourful village life of Muhlbach am Hochkönig and the breathtaking natural landscape of the Hochkönig all year round!

WINTER ACTIVITIES
When the first snow falls, the village becomes a true winter sports paradise.
A "Schneeloch" is local jargon for a place that can always count on a lot of winter-white splendour and Muhlbach am Hochkönig is without a doubt one of them! Winter fun is guaranteed due to the geographical location.
With a direct connection to the fantastic and large Höchkönig ski area, you're right in the middle of one of the top ski regions of the Ski Amadé. The ski area is young, large and friendly and offers challenges for every level. In this ski resort you can enjoy beautiful snow slopes at an altitude of 860 to 1900 m. In total there are 33 lifts and you can enjoy no less than 120 km of slopes of which 532 km blue slopes, 41 km red slopes, 9 km black slopes and 8 km of ski trails. Discover the Königstour, a ski tour path of 32 km and 6,700 altimeters.
The excellent facilities for children make this ski resort ideal for families with (small) children.
Advanced skiers will find plenty of challenges as the Hochkönig ski area is part of Ski Amadé with a total of 760km of pistes, 270 lifts and 260 huts and restaurants! You only need one ski pass! 25 resorts in five regions = variety + adventures + fun + guaranteed snow. And not to forget : that unique view in the mountains !
Besides the fantastic ski area, the Höchkönig region has a lot more to offer. Think of the beautiful cross-country trails and the mapped out winter hiking paths through fairytale-like landscapes, tobogganing fun on one of the toboggan runs, horse sleigh rides, night skiing ... it does not stop !

ACCESSIBILITY
The accessibility of the Höchkönig region and the village of Mühlbach in particular is excellent. Mühlbach is just 10 minutes from the Salzburg motorway and Bisschofshofen train station (which is connected to the international train network). Salzburg airport can be reached within 45 minutes.

Everything started when we discovered skiing at an older age! Enjoying the beauty of nature brought us peace and we knew that sooner or later we would do something in Austria. In early 2020, this house to renovate came on our path, we did not hesitate, because it was a dream come true, a new challenge!
