Description
Holiday in the middle of the Harz mountains in our holiday home, newly built in spring 2021.
The house is in a quiet location on the south-facing slope above the Stieger Teichen. The access is directly via the B242 and the forest borders only 20m behind the house. Fortunately, there are very extensive beech and mixed forest stands here, which are not so affected by the forest dieback in the Harz region and the resulting forest conversion. There are 2 new holiday houses on the 2000m² site, which can be booked individually or together. In the outdoor area of the houses there are 2 carports with space for 3 vehicles, an extra fenced area with playground for the little ones and an area where the barbecue kota is located and fire in the fire bowl is also possible.
House 2 is with 70m² the smaller of the two houses and built according to the latest energy standards. The triple glazing of the windows is not only good for energy efficiency, i.e. heating costs. When they are closed, it is so quiet that you sometimes oversleep in the morning. (that's what happened to us during testing). Other structural cornerstones are the 20 cm wall insulation and 22 cm roof insulation, and everything is heated by underfloor heating, connected to an air-water heat pump. Of course, the hot water is also heated by the heat pump
The house has a large living area with open modern design kitchen. Both with a great view of the Harz landscape through the large glass fronts. Even bad weather can look good when the rain showers pass over the landscape. In winter, of course, it's even better when it snows. In good weather you can open the doors and use the completely fenced 80m² south-facing terrace as an extension of the living area. The wood-burning stove in the living area is actually more for the romantic hours, or if the house needs to be heated very quickly, but can also be used as a normal heating source. The air-water heat pump is much cheaper for continuous operation
In the bathroom of the house there is a large ground-level shower, a double washbasin, a toilet and a washing machine
The two bedrooms are each 14m² , one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. The beds all have very good spring mattresses.
Oh and if it comes to the topic that he likes to watch football and she prefers something intelligent, there is a large Smart TV in the living area and a slightly smaller one in each of the bedrooms.
On the large terrace, a hammock and double lounger invite you to sunbathe. But the absolute highlight, apart from the sauna, is the outdoor whirlpool.
A quick word for the smokers among the guests. The houses themselves are non-smoking. The property itself is not, and in bad weather you can also use the barbecue kota, where it always smells of smoke from the last fire
The bottom line is that the houses are both new and we have made the greatest effort. Since the time of completion was in the middle of the third wave of Corona (hopefully the last), we had time to test everything ourselves. But if we should have missed something, something is missing or something has to be changed, our house is located below the holiday homes. So no problem at all.

The two holiday homes are located in the small Harz village of Stiege, which in turn is centrally located in the Harz. All the sights can be reached quickly from here.

The extensive forests invite you to go hiking and there are several forest restaurants.
Close to the holiday homes, about 300m away, is Stieger Castle. Here you can order coffee with freshly baked cakes within the old walls. And of course a beer or two. The castle owners from the Netherlands have furnished everything in a very cosy way and you immediately feel welcome due to the cordiality. But beware, the high-proof beer that Rene the castle owner likes to offer should be enjoyed slowly and wait to see how it works.
Pullman City is of course an absolute must for all Western fans. The many show car events, motorbike and quad meetings and other events are always interesting.
In winter, you can either use the cross-country ski trails in the neighbouring village of Hasselfelde or Friedrichsbrunn, or on the other side of the pond, a toboggan slope, on the Mühlberg.
Of course, there are also the ponds. You can go fishing or rowing here. Officially, bathing is prohibited, as is the case everywhere in Germany (no open-air swimming pools). But you don't really notice that on warm summer days.

Were very dissatisfied and were thrown out.
We booked for 4 people and wanted to receive a visitor, so we asked the landlord on-site if it would be okay for someone to visit us. Unfortunately, he was heavily intoxicated and very aggressive, yelled at us, and threw us out. Even his wife was terribly scared of him. We were on our way for 5 hours and had to switch to an expensive hotel at short notice.
I wonder how a person can treat their guests like that.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND RENTING A LODGING THERE.
Unfortunately, the apartment was very poorly cleaned; the toilet was completely dirty. The jacuzzi smelled of chlorine and urine and was in very bad condition. The sauna was filled with mold spots both upstairs and downstairs, and the beds had stains. The owner was constantly pacing back and forth, checking if everything was going well (BORDERING ON STALKING).
WAS VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE OWNER.
In the area, you could only hike (boring area).

Sehr geehrter Herr Iskam
Ich bitte sie ihre Bewertung noch einmal zu überdenken.
Natürlich bin ich bemüht,das meine Gäste sich hier wohlfühlen und angenehme Tage in meinen Ferienhäusern verleben.
Aus diesem Grund haben wir eine Hausordnung in der steht ,das die Häuser nur mit 4 Personen belegt werden dürfen. Das betrifft auch die Einstellungen hier im Portal. Mit 5 Personen ist es ihnen unmöglich eins meiner Häuser zu buchen. Sie sind um 17.09 Uhr angereist. Um 19.14 Uhr haben sie angerufen und erzählt das sie 5 Gäste werden. Es wäre noch eine Person (Bruder) unterwegs. Die Antwort das dies gegen die Hausregeln verstößt wollten sie nicht akzeptieren und haben kurz darauf wieder angerufen. Wieder bekamen sie ein nein zu einer Überbelegung. Kurz darauf haben sie dann geklingelt und bestanden weiterhin auf eine 5. Person. Wiederum bekamen sie auf die Anfrage ein nein. Kurz vor 20 Uhr wollten sie auf eigenen Wunsch aus checken ,wenn sie die Kaution zurück bekämen. Natürlich bekamen sie die Kaution zurück und auf der Quittung wurde extra vermerkt Abreise auf eigenen Wunsch. Das haben sie anstandslos unterschrieben und sind abgefahren.
Ich kann mir durchaus vorstellen das sie enttäuscht waren nicht mit 5 Personen das Haus beziehen zu können, aber das ist ihre eigene Schuld. Hier im Portal ist es wirklich ganz einfach ein Haus für ihre Ansprüche zu finden. Einfach schon bei der Suche die richtige Anzahl der Gäste eingeben.
Auch ihre später eingegangenen Anschuldigungen wie, sie hätten keine AGB bekommen, erwiesen sich als gelogen. Beim Kontakt auf Ferienhausmiete bleibt der Textverlauf mit allen Anhängen gespeichert.
Jetzt dann eine Bewertung die lächerlicher nicht sein kann und gleichzeitig wieder über Ferienhausmiete die Forderung „Geld zurück, sonst wird die Bewertung nicht gelöscht“.
Herr Iskam, ihnen sollte klar sein das ich mir solch eine Bewertung nicht gefallen lassen werde.
Gerade im Punkt Sauberkeit konnte sich kein Gast beschweren, da ich die Häuser selbst säubere, und darauf größten Wert lege.
Sie versuchen mich hier offiziell und nachweisbar zu erpressen.
Sie geben eine sehr lange Liste an Unstimmigkeiten an, von denen sie bei Abreise offensichtlich noch nichts wussten. Mir haben sie nichts über die angeblichen Mängel berichtet. Sie müssen diese jetzt natürlich auch beweisen.
Sollten sie das nicht können, dessen bin ich mir sicher, habe sie ein Problem.
Bei einer solchen beleidigenden und rufschädigenden Bewertung bleibt mir nichts anderes übrig als rechtliche Schritte einzuleiten.

Everything is great!
We spent New Year's Eve in this beautiful vacation home and felt very comfortable. Our dog was also very satisfied. The accommodation leaves nothing to be desired and the landlords are super nice and uncomplicated. We would love to come back and hope that the Harz forest will be better again by then.

Great accommodation
Very nice holiday home, we felt very comfortable. Nice landlords, you can start many beautiful tours from the staircase. The terrace and the playground were also very popular with our grandchildren. Highly recommended.

Everything great. Gladly again
Beautiful cottage, great and quiet location on the edge of the forest. Perfect place to relax. There is also a wellness area with sauna and whirlpool. Super equipment, comfortable beds and parking right in front of the door. The landlord was always available and very friendly.

Beautiful holiday
Beautiful holiday home and great terrace with whirlpool and sauna. Loved being out and about during the day and then enjoying the peace and quiet , whirlpool and sun loungers. The house was very clean and the landlords very nice and helpful. Always gladly again. Kind regards from the Münsterland
