Description

The house
This detached holiday home is located in the middle of Mecklenburg's most beautiful nature. It is undoubtedly a place of tranquillity where you can switch off and recharge your batteries. From the property you look directly to the forest, across the field and for the real ranch feeling to the peaceful sheep and cattle. A small stream runs directly along the property, providing relaxing sounds. From the other direction, the fresh lake wind blows, from the Schönlager Lake a few metres away.

The rustic wooden house blends in very well with the natural surroundings. From the covered terrace you enter the living area. This is equipped with an open kitchen, a sofa with sleeping function, satellite TV and dining table. This room offers a place for cosy get-togethers through the eat-in kitchen. The bedroom, with a rustic wooden double bed, ensures a restful sleep. The bathroom is equipped with a ground-level shower. The furnishings and fittings are characterised by a lot of attention to detail.

The large green property is completely fenced. There is a sauna house on the property, which is available for the guests' exclusive use. You can park your car directly in front of the house. Your pet is welcome (maximum 2 dear animals, as you have a few quiet cattle and sheep as neighbours).

Location and surroundings of object

The surrounding area within walking distance
Lake Schönlager is only a few steps away from the property. You will find plenty of small bathing and fishing spots here, so that you can jump into the lake undisturbed in the morning. The lake is motorboat-free and unspoilt, so you can enjoy the view to the full. The holiday home is located in a small tranquil village, within walking distance between the two nature reserves Trockenhänge and middle Warnow valley. The Warnow River, which is very popular with canoeists, can also be reached on foot in 10 minutes. The large forest area of the Sternberger Seenland Nature Park borders directly on the property. You can spend the whole day hiking through forests, along small rivers, streams and lakes and reach popular excursion destinations such as Kaarz Castle or the Red Lake with its restaurant.

Leisure and excursion destinations
The leisure and excursion possibilities in the region are almost unlimited. Nature lovers can, for example, go on horse-drawn carriage rides, canoe tours, boat trips or guided hikes. For culture lovers, we recommend the capital Schwerin, approx. 25 km away, with its beautiful old town and Schwerin Castle, which is one of the most beautiful in Germany. In the immediate vicinity you will also find an archaeological open-air museum, nature park centre, camel farm, art galleries, potter's farms, water mills, chicken graves and much more. The beautiful beaches of the Baltic Sea are also only 40 km away. For an excursion with the family, you can visit the Oase adventure pool with sauna area in Güstrow, the trampoline hall or the zoo in Schwerin. A trip to the Pirate Open Air Theatre in Grevesmühlen and the Nature and Environment Park in Güstrow is also highly recommended.

Easter 2025

We had a nice stay over Easter, we didn't miss Wi-Fi that much. It was relaxing, also because of the peace and the surroundings.

Apartment in prime location

Who is looking for relaxation and tranquility.. is in the right place here.
Recommended for dog owners, the location is great.
The beds are very comfortable.
The covered terrace allows for a lot of outdoor seating.
We had a very relaxing time.
You can make a lot of different trips from there.

Very beautiful holiday home

We found a very clean and cozy holiday home, where nothing was missing! Even fly screens were installed on the windows.
The large covered terrace can be wonderfully used, especially when it rains. Especially for nature lovers, like us, it is perfect. The singing of the many bird species was simply amazing for us. Next door, very quiet sheep can be seen in the neighborhood.
We really enjoyed the week and would come back anytime. We can highly recommend it to nature lovers. There are plenty of lakes in the nearby area.

The actually quiet location is unfortunately significantly disturbed by the heavy traffic passing through the town. Due to construction work on the neighboring property, the solo location is no longer valid.

The furnishings and cleanliness in the kitchen have noticeably room for improvement. Providing a bicycle would be sensible, as the cycling paths are well developed. The handover via the key safe is a very good idea.

Lieber Gast,
vielen Dank für das Feedback. Gern möchten wir uns zu den genannten Punkten äußern. Mit dem Schwerlastverkehr sind sicherlich die Fahrzeuge der Landwirtschaft gemeint. Einen anderen Schwerlastverkehr gibt es in der absolut ruhigen Naturlage nicht. In den Zeiten, wo die Felder bestellt werden, kann es durchaus vorkommen, dass Landmaschinen fahren. Das ist auf dem Land ganz gewöhnlich. Auf dem Nachbargrundstück wurde in der Tat 2 halbe Tage gearbeitet. Bezüglich der Reinigung wäre es schön gewesen, wenn Sie gleich Bescheid gegeben hätten. So hätten wir nachbessern können. Fahrräder werden bewusst nicht angeboten. Die meisten Gäste bringen ihre eigenen Fahrräder mit. Ich hoffe dennoch, dass Ihnen das Haus gefallen hat, Sie die Umgebung genossen haben und sich gut erholen konnten.

Great holiday

The small FH is practical and sensibly equipped with a very good bed, a nice garden sauna and pleasant animal neighbours. We have never had such a well signposted FH (rubbish bin and short instructions...).
The location is idyllic and quiet (only tractors and trucks can be heard on the nearby village road).
We often had the very close lake all to ourselves for swimming and tubing
The huge meadows and the forest were a dream for our beagle (you can start walking directly from the house, but then on unpaved paths, but nice and lonely).
Schwerin can be reached quickly along the avenues typical of Mecklenburg.
We had a wonderful holiday and will certainly book the FH again.

Idyllic

A peaceful idyll awaited us on arrival. The holiday home is surrounded by trees in fairytale silence. The large bedroom with the big windows invites you to dream and is an ideal retreat in this individually designed cottage. Even though it rained a lot during our stay, we had it warm and cosy. The sauna definitely contributed to that. Thank you for the wonderful days!

Dreamlike beautiful....

We can recommend the holiday home to anyone looking for individual accommodation close to nature. The furnishings are very special, loving and cosy. Pure nature and tranquillity, there is no better way to relax after an eventful day. The four-legged friends are well catered for and can roam freely around the fenced-in property. From the terrace we could enjoy a wonderful view of nature. Anyone who is looking for the original is in the right place here. The friendly contact with the owners should also be emphasised.
