The house is very well equipped, furnishings and inventory of high quality, good mattresses! House technology is well thought out and functional. Very suitable for dogs. Everything is clean and tidy. Nice neighbors. A lot, a lot of peace except for a few sheep! Those who want short distances to the beach and hustle and bustle are in the wrong place! One more small note: there were no loops on the towels, so the existing towel hooks could not be used. However, there is a large drying rack and radiator!

Those who want to live centrally yet absolutely quietly are exactly right here! Just a few steps and you reach the market, the pedestrian zone, and above all the beautiful harbor with the National Park House, the restaurant ship "Nordertor," and the maritime museum. Several bakeries for delicious breakfast rolls are nearby. The apartment is equipped with everything needed for traveling. The bed is extremely comfortable and the arrangement of the living, dining, and sleeping areas is well done, even though everything is in one large room. The kitchen cabinets are well stocked, so it was no problem to prepare meals. Three large windows for ventilation as well as a small balcony contribute to the well-being. The bathroom is sensibly equipped and the large shower is very pleasant. Throughout the apartment, there are sufficient cabinets and storage options. What I liked best was the absolute cleanliness - even in the corners and in the cabinets. For that, there’s an extra plus point!

We (two adults) felt very comfortable. The house is cozy and well-equipped. Although we could no longer use the terrace, everything needed for sitting outside is available here as well. The stove is perfect. You can get wood at any construction or supermarket. If Nordstrand becomes a vacation destination again, we would gladly return to this holiday home.

The holiday home is located at the end of a cul-de-sac, directly by the inner dike. Absolutely quiet, very idyllic. The house is cozy, modern, and lovingly furnished. If you don't want to go out to eat, the kitchen has everything to prepare a complete meal. Even in the rain, you can keep yourself entertained: games, books, plenty of information for activities, and a large television. A dream is the sun terrace and the fenced garden. Our dog loved the free run and curiously watched the sheep that came to the garden fence every day. For children, there is a sandbox with toys and a swing. For shopping, trips to the surrounding area and/or to the sea, you need a car. We did have the bikes with us, but we wouldn't have managed without a car. We felt very comfortable and can recommend the accommodation with a clear conscience.

Hello from Upper Franconia, we had a wonderful vacation in Nordstrand. The peace (mow) and seclusion pleased us very much. Nice neighbors, pleasant conversations. We would love to come back. Of course, we also had a little surprise, the heating in the living room was set to 27 degrees and outside it was 32 degrees. The hanging light in the kitchen is simply too low for a 1.85 man. The kitchen equipment is really great. I took the liberty of reconfiguring her TV satellite system so that the freely available channels can be viewed. Info: the satellite receiver should be set to maximum volume and the desired volume should be set on the TV. As a small note: in the bedroom with the double bed, one could smell the odor from the sewage system sometimes less, sometimes more strongly.

We spent beautiful days in the Old Shepherd's House. The house, especially the kitchen, is very well equipped, with high-quality dishes and cutlery, solid wood furniture, and cozy sofas that invite you to linger. The wood stove is very simple and easy to use and provides pleasant warmth. The very good service is also particularly noteworthy. A problem related to the location of the house in the outskirts was addressed quickly, intensively, and to our complete satisfaction. What we didn't like so much is: The house is indeed located directly by the dyke. However, it cannot be accessed with dogs. We would have liked a clear indication of this. We also assumed from the photos that the house was in a secluded location. In fact, the Schäferhaus is at the end of a small settlement with a camper parking space in immediate proximity, which could become loud in summer (we were there in winter). During our visit, the house was very clean, which we liked very much.

We were in this great holiday home with our two dogs in early November 2024. It is a cozy house with a fenced garden at the end of a cul-de-sac, right by the dyke. It is beautifully located, very quiet, and particularly noteworthy is the cleanliness with which we took over the house. The house has everything the heart desires. Everything has been thought of. Even plenty of books and games are available. Whoever loves peace and extensive walks along the dike is exactly right here (at least at this time of year). We were in this house for the first time, but certainly not the last time. Many thanks to the landlords for allowing us to use the house as guests, and a special thanks to the person who takes care of the cleanliness of the house!!!!!!!

We found a house where everything was perfect. Very clean, well-equipped with little things like spices, paper towels, toilet paper, games, books, etc. We have no complaints; it was a thoroughly relaxing vacation. We will definitely come back.

We only washed the bedding again, as it was clean and ironed, but had some stains on it. If we go to Nordstrand again, the cottage would definitely be our first choice!

The holiday home "Zum Alten Schäfer" is a cozy, well-furnished, and very clean house, where everything is available. Quickly, a feeling of homeliness sets in. The sheltered terrace by the beautiful large garden, the wind that moves the leaves and grasses on the dyke more or less at times. Wonderful, the busy pair of swallows in the nest at the house, the wagtails, blackbirds, and other songbirds in the garden, the pheasant family and the field hare, which visited us almost daily, the multi-voiced soft bleating of the sheep and their steady cozy mmpfmpf, and above all the wonderful cuckoo music right from the tree outside the window immediately create a feeling of peace and relaxation. From here, many activities can be undertaken, right in the vicinity of the Wadden Sea National Park with many birdwatching spots that are truly worthwhile. But one can also enjoy cycling on the island, having cake at the mill in Süderhafen, enjoying the view of the Halligen, or taking a trip to Pellworm—even in changeable weather. We would love to come back sometime.

The house is beautiful and also clean, the kitchen is very well equipped, the location is also very nice. Hiking with the dog from the house isn’t great; you only walk along the road, so it’s better to take the car and then go on nice hiking tours. Unfortunately, the garden was very unkempt and overgrown and poorly fenced (in some places about... 50 cm high, most dogs can easily jump over it, so dogs with a hunting instinct are better kept on a long leash in the garden. The outdoor shower can be ignored; it has long passed its best days! I first scrubbed the garden table thoroughly; it was almost greener than the lawn, and the terrace was also very dirty. Wi-Fi is there but veeeeery sloooow (thank goodness it's a vacation :-). So, in short: inside TOP - outside FLOP.

Very beautiful house, super clean (a big thank you to the "cleaning fairy"), modern, very well-maintained furnishings. It was still too chilly to sit outside, but when it is, the pump in the shed, which starts up at various times, would be quite bothersome. We didn't even find out what it was for..... The shower needs to be regularly "flushed out," otherwise it smells like sewage. Everything was good for us, we had a very lovely time. We have already recommended the house to friends.

Everything was actually great, we felt comfortable. There are just 3 small things. 1. The terrace could be cleaned next time; we first had to sweep down the leaves and scrub the table. 2. The garden could also use a bit of love. 3. What we didn't like at all is that we have to leave the house by 10 and the cleaning service arrives at half past 8 and waits. Otherwise, the vacation was super. We'll definitely come back again. The bread delivery service from the motorhome park is also great.

For us, who were urgently seeking peace and relaxation and have 2 dogs, it was simply perfect. Very lovingly furnished, a heartfelt welcome gift on the table, everything totally clean and well-maintained… you arrive and immediately feel happy about your choice. Many interesting destinations very close by, in magical Husum you are about 10 minutes away, and Nordstrand itself also offers great excursion destinations (recommendation: visit both pottery studios, beautiful things and such lovely people! The cakes at the Engelsmühle, mmmmmh! etc.! Criticism of the house? Just "tiny details"...: the bathroom has a slight odor, which is probably related to the often not so easy sewage disposal at the dyke > open the window and it's done! The operation of the satellite TV could be made easier for "less intuitively acting" people in the form of a small manual - but we managed it too. A water carafe would be nice, but how quickly is the 1. A wine bottle has been enjoyed, and already one has a... not to forget: when calling our agency for questions or problems, you always have totally friendly and well-advising people on the line... simply a top service! THANK YOU to the house landlords, the "cleaning angels," and the holiday-at-the-North-Sea team.

The old shepherd's house is very cozy, with a fully equipped kitchen. The large fenced garden is great for a holiday with a dog. However, a little more garden maintenance (nettles, weeds) would make it more inviting. Unfortunately, the area around the outdoor shower was in a wild state, making it impossible to enter with bare feet. Perhaps you could give your gardener a tip about this. Just a small note. Our stay was not affected by this. We were now at the Schäferhaus for the third time and will certainly come back again.

We almost always book vacation apartments or holiday homes, but the amenities here were really perfect. Dishes, cling film and aluminum foil, toilet paper, kitchen roll, an extra towel for drying hands, basic spices like salt and pepper. Everything was really great - always recommendable.

The house is located just behind the dam to the island of Nordstrand, at the end of a cul-de-sac. Pure tranquility. Centrally located to explore the beauties of Nordstrand or on the way to Husum. However, a motorized vehicle is needed to shop, for example. The furnishings are stylish, and everything is available that you need for a pleasant time at the North Sea. The kitchen equipment is complete. Good, high-quality appliances, pots, and pans. A good knife block completes everything. Cooking is fun here! The beds are excellent. The bathroom's equipment with a walk-in shower is modern. The toilet is separate from the bathroom, which is desirable for four people. The building technology is up to date. Only the background noise from the water treatment is somewhat disturbing when staying on the terrace. However, the infrared heating takes some getting used to. A nice fireplace invites cozy cuddling on the sofas. The sheep, on the dike behind the house, come right up to the garden fence. Pheasants and quails walked on the property. Geese flew overhead. Pure nature, right around the house. The enclosed garden offers plenty of space for four-legged friends. Linus really enjoyed the freedom. Conclusion of our vacation: It was so beautiful that we spontaneously decided to spend Christmas on Nordstrand. We extended our vacation by a week. In total, we stayed in the house for four weeks. A return is currently being planned for the year 2022.

Well equipped, everything you need. Large fenced area which is good for very small dogs. The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac, so there is very little traffic, behind it the dike with sheep. On the peninsula, there is a bakery and a store that covers a lot, just a few minutes by car. A beautiful corner for people who want peace and quiet. We will come back!

Our dog really liked the large garden, even my husband enjoyed the swing in the garden and the outdoor shower :) At the beginning of September, the weather was great, so we were able to go on some nice bike rides. Those seeking peace and relaxation at the North Sea are exactly right at the Schäferhaus. We were finally able to start our long-booked short vacation in the test region of Nordfriesland. A small Corona test center on the campsite across the street made the required testing significantly easier. The house with a fenced garden also provides a very good environment for a vacation with dogs. The surroundings also offer us everything we need: quiet paths for walking, Husum for strolling, Engelsmühle for coffee and cake, or the Hansen bakery in Hattstedt with very delicious rolls. We have booked again.
