This detached bungalow is in the wooded Landgoed het Grote Zand. It offers accommodation for a maximum of seven adults or six adults and two children. The reason for this is the box bed on the first floor, which is suitable for two children or one adult.
The bungalow is comfortable and fully furnished. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave and dishwasher. Both the ground floor and first floor have a bathroom with shower. There are three bedrooms, one on the ground floor and two on the first floor. The bedrooms each have two single beds which can be set up as a double. On the first floor you'll also find the double box bed (children's).
Outside you'll enjoy a garden with terrace and garden furniture. The bungalow has standard parking space for two cars.

The beautiful, 35 hectare Het Grote Zand Holiday Park is in the province of Drenthe.
It is in a very convenient position. The park has attractive, new bungalows and is on the edge of a protected nature reserve. It is 500 metres from the village of Hooghalen. You can enjoy day trips, walks and cycle trips in the surrounding countryside. The attractive main building has various facilities including a reception area, a shop, an indoor swimming pool, sauna, Turkish Bath and solarium. There is a pleasant 'Brown Café' and a snack bar. You can enjoy an à la carte restaurant in the evenings. The park's recreation team organises a number of activities during the holiday season. Children can enjoy treasure hunts, children's bingo and sports tournaments. The holiday park has plenty of playground equipment. If you enjoy cycling you will love it here. The Hooghalen countryside consists of extensive woods, fields and moor lands. Youll find four nature reserves in the immediate area. These are Het Grote Zand, Het Witte Zand, Het Heuvinger Zand and Het Noorder & Hijkerveld. Tens of kilometres of cycling paths lead you through beautiful Forestry Commission lands.
The Het Grote Zand Holiday Park is in the heart of Drente and is ideally positioned for visiting many places of interest. The city of Assen is less then ten kilometres away. You can enjoy shopping, the Traffic Adventure Park (Verkeerspark) and the Drentse Museum there. The Noorder Zoo in Emmen is nearby and the historic city of Groningen is well worth a visit. This beautiful holiday park is highly recommended for young families, seniors and all who enjoy beautiful scenery. The park's excellent position combined with its many facilities are the perfect combination for an enjoyable holiday.

A number of holiday home facilities may be booked for a 27,50 preference cost. These facilities are not standard. They include a second parking space by the accommodation, a bath, a combination microwave oven, DVD player, infra-red sauna, internet, stove and dishwasher. Please contact our Customer Contact Centre regarding these options.
From November 6, 2018 through April 1, 2019, the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, except during school holidays.
For group bookings in the 8 - 12 person accommodations with guests aged up to and including 24 years, we require a deposit of € 300. ID card / passport / driver's license may be requested at check-in.

We arrived at our house 2 days ago. On arrival the house was very dirty. The floors were black with dirt, walking on socks is not possible because they are completely dirty almost immediately. The sofa and the cushions on it are very dirty, the bathroom tap is leaking, there is a lot of mold and soap residue in both bathrooms. Mold in the kitchen and the trash can lid. All cabinets are black on top from a thick layer of greasy dust. There are cobwebs and dead flies everywhere and there is even a spider's nest in the bedroom curtain. There were literally footprints above the beds on the sloping wall, there were stubbed out cigarettes everywhere on the terrace and with 1 swipe on the windowsill your finger was full of dust. We reported all this immediately upon arrival, when a cleaning lady came by who sucked up the worst cobwebs and dead flies. After this everything was still very dirty so we walked back to the reception and reported everything. The next day they sent the cleaning crew by at 11.00 and we had to leave the house for a few hours, in the meantime 3 out of 5 people had a bad cold due to the amounts of dust in the house. When we returned the bathrooms were already a lot better clean (the worst mold and soap residue was gone) and the floor was already mopped a lot better, but when we dropped a glass of water that night and wiped it up with a kitchen paper, this paper was literally after 1 swipe black from the dirt still on the floor. After this second extra cleaning, we also cleaned ourselves for an hour and even the wipes that we put over the door handles and light buttons were brown from the dirt. So the house has been neglected for a long time in terms of cleaning, normally this is already scandalous, but in corona time this is really unacceptable!! (Open garden) Nice decoration of the living room and the box bed, the kids loved it! There is free wifi, you do need this otherwise you have no range. Quietly located house with a playground for the children in the park and a small swimming pool (not used due to corona). There are several fun things to do in the neighborhood!
