Beautiful setting, park looks neat. The key transfer at the reception went smoothly. Bungalow was clean. Everything available for 12 people. 1 minus compulsory rental of bed linen at € 8. There were stains in the bed linens and the duvet covers so thin that I would no longer use them at home. You could expect more for € 8.

We were well received at the reception! Unfortunately upon arrival at the cottage it was visible that it had been insufficiently cleaned. The floor, sink, and wash tables were filthy! The tables stuck (themselves but cleaned), banisters stuck huge (also cleaned themselves) and therefore immediately all 4 toilets themselves but cleaned (so we were sure that everything was hygienically clean, because we doubted then very much ) On the next day the cleaning of the park was called and informed (reception was closed in the evening). These reacted a bit cool. The cleaning was so a bit of a disappointment (reception was already closed then), but the rest was goed.De accommodation was good with nice beds (pillows were very thin, but they were replaced the next day by the reception), very nicely furnished and enough space for 11 people (very handy 4 toilets and 3 bathrooms). We really enjoyed our family weekend in Hooghalen. We were lucky that the weather cooperated fantastic, so we could spend. Most of the time outside The house was very nice, clean, and nicely decorated. Everything we needed was plentiful. Nice garden. The park is very beautiful greenery and beautiful plantings. Highlights were the covered wagon, the old village of Orvelte, the market and shops in Assen, The Carvingcup at the treetop and the Spring Fair in Frederiksoord. The house was ideal for our 2 families totaling 10 people with dog. The garden was lovely and spacious and had plenty of privacy and good garden furniture. We sat near the forest, super for dog and wonderful to walk for us! The restaurant had a nice schnitzel evening and a handy breakfast goers. The park has plenty of entertainment for the children: a junglebos, bouncy castle, a playground, sports fields and a small pool. We were well received at the reception! Unfortunately upon arrival at the cottage it was visible that it had been insufficiently cleaned. The floor, sink, and wash tables were filthy! We also noticed during cooking that the facilities are insufficient for the number of people in this house (12 people!). We had beautiful weather during Easter, so we spent most of the time outside!

We have the whole family enjoyed our stay at The Great Sand Estate. Beautiful park, spacious and truly very smartly decorated bungalow. The large garden offering space and privacy and was safe for the little ones, who could play nice. The employees of the park were very friendly and helpful. From Hooghalen you have plenty of opportunities for excursions and nature walks.

Beautiful setting, park looks neat. The key transfer at the reception went smoothly. Bungalow was clean. Everything available for 12 people. 1 minus compulsory rental of bed linen at € 8. There were stains in the bed linens and the duvet covers so thin that I would no longer use them at home. You could expect more for € 8.

We have a wonderful weekend in a house just decorated. In and around the house for the children not much to do. The park has plenty of entertainment for the children: a junglebos, bouncy castle, a playground, sports fields and a small pool. It is nicely set up with lots of greenery and variety. The jungle forest was fun for the grandchildren. The restaurant was also good, only the operation somewhat slow. We really enjoyed our family weekend in Hooghalen. We were lucky that the weather cooperated fantastic, so we could spend. Most of the time outside The house was very nice, clean, and nicely decorated. Everything we needed was plentiful. Nice garden. The park is very beautiful greenery and beautiful plantings. At the park you can enjoy themselves, but this is limited to a (small) pool, pool table and an outdoor playground. For us, fine, but do not expect arcades or large center. We had also previously viewed what we could do in the area. There are many different activities to do. We sat in the week of old and new, so also the famous carbit-shooting visited, very nice! A beautiful, nicely kept park and the cottage was spacious, clean, tidy. In short, a must!

Especially nice week had with many nice weather, so we were able to do all the sights and activities in the area! Highlights were the covered wagon, the old village of Orvelte, the market and shops in Assen, The Carvingcup at the treetop and the Spring Fair in Frederiksoord. The house was ideal for our 2 families totaling 10 people with dog. The garden was lovely and spacious and had plenty of privacy and good garden furniture. We sat near the forest, super for dog and wonderful to walk for us! The restaurant had a nice schnitzel evening and a handy breakfast goers. In summary we had a great week with something for everyone!

The week in Hooghalen really liked. The park has limited facilities, but the staff is very nice. The area is quiet but you can make nice trips. Unfortunately, they did not address the fact that the garden was very small and immediately ended up in the ditch, very difficult with young children! Our stay in the 12-person accommodation has given birth to very good. It is a beautiful park with lots of greenery and beautiful homes. The area is also very beautiful, so the bike rental (nice Gazelle bikes) was top. The pool is not special, but adequate for a quick splash. The entertainment for the children alone was not great, but adequate for our three year old daughter. The parents and grandparents of the kids were just excited with the entertainers themselves -) Overall, definitely worth repeating!

Fine accommodation, however, not everything was as clean when we arrived. The tables stuck (themselves but cleaned), banisters stuck huge (also cleaned themselves) and therefore immediately all 4 toilets themselves but cleaned (so we were sure that everything was hygienically clean, because we doubted then very much ) On the next day the cleaning of the park was called and informed (reception was closed in the evening). These reacted a bit cool. The cleaning was so a bit of a disappointment (reception was already closed then), but the rest was goed.De accommodation was good with nice beds (pillows were very thin, but they were replaced the next day by the reception), very nicely furnished and enough space for 11 people (very handy 4 toilets and 3 bathrooms). The accommodation and the park are fine. The cleaning leaves much to be desired. I submitted a list of points and sent a picture today of how dirty the fridge was. There were many points of interest. Like a fork in the rails, to hold back the curtain. I wonder how The Big Sands will handle this. I have asked for compensation for the cleaning costs.
