It is a pleasant and comfortable house. The disadvantage is that it is located on a main road, where there is a lot of traffic. This is especially restless in the early morning hours.

ALREADY indicated so many times by other tenants, but nothing is done about it. This concerns the absence of a small freezer of, for example, 50 liters that you can buy for 79 euros and the absence of mosquito screens on at least one window. At least a mosquito nets are needed for proper ventilation because there are a lot of mosquitoes along the house. Otherwise, just a good house in a good location.

We had a wonderful week in the cozy Kantonniershuisje! First with friends who had the top floor and then for a few days as a couple!
The house looks very attractive and the beds were already made upon arrival! Excellent beds and nice spacious bedrooms.
We were able to take nice walks in the 2 nature reserves! The villages of Diever and Dwingeloo are nice for shopping or for a restaurant.
The restaurant De Sluiswachter, opposite the holiday home, had a surprisingly nice menu from the chef! We had a delicious meal here and drank good wine! It's ideal that you can walk straight to the house afterwards!
Everything had been thought of in the house and it was nice that there were towels and kitchen linen!
The boats in front of the house and the lock with the swirling water were fun to watch.
All in all, many pluses and actually no minuses!

Previous reviews mentioned noise from traffic but was very disappointing. You can not sit outside nicely given the noise. The glassware was scanty, 3 large wine glasses downstairs (for a house of 4), few small wine glasses and upstairs was nothing at all. On photo it seems much larger than in reality. Top floor lacked some atmosphere and furniture. No nice shower, very thin hard rays. The house was very clean.

What a great nice house in a lovely place. We were here (older couple) at the beginning of November. There was no shipping on the canal. The house is really quite complete. And finely decorated living room. A super good double bed downstairs. nice shower and toilet on the ground floor with an incredible amount of towels. Never experienced so much. Upstairs is a 2nd living room and there is a television with integrated DVD player. (no channels) the kitchen is also fine, everything is more than sufficiently available Cooking went excellent. It was wonderfully warm in the house. The landlord is very nice. The house is difficult to find without help. As far as we are concerned, this house deserves a big 10.

Very friendly welcome with a fresh bunch of flowers on the table and a delicious Drentse cake in the fridge. The N-road that continues behind the house can be disturbing at times, but that also got used to. Towels and tea towels were abundant. The area is beautiful for cycling. If you don't bring your own bicycles, you can rent them in Dwingeloo (near Reiber). This company helped us very well when we had a flat tire. Just a phone call and they will bring another bike, Top service! The restaurants in both Diever and Dwingeloo were very good and the staff were friendly. Highly recommended to go to this area.

It is a spacious light house with lots of light and a beautiful view over the canal. The sofa and chairs are good. I did not find the oven easy to operate. I was missing oven gloves and a baking dish in the inventory. In the early morning traffic noise was significant several times.

We did not find the owner at the agreed address, but in her shop next to the house. It was nice and warm and the house was decorated with Christmas lights both inside and out, very cozy. The beautiful weather has certainly contributed to a pleasant stay, door and just walk in and out to the enclosed garden, definitely a plus with the dog that it was his 1st holiday. We had another wonderful stay in the Kantonniershuisje on the Drentse Hoofdvaart, from September 2 to September 9. The house looked tip top again, thanks to Tarina. We had problems with the t.v. and a lamp broke in the bathroom, but this was quickly fixed by Tarina. Nice tip: next to the house is a nice shop, Zilver & Zo, with a very friendly owner. She sells beautiful jewelry. The Kantonniershuisje is highly recommended, in a beautiful omgeving.Bina and Gerdien.

From the inside it is modern and tasteful furnishings. The village is not too big and a lot of action is not there. There are three restaurants in the immediate vicinity, a tapas bar, a Chinese restaurant and a Dutch restaurant. We have tried none. For shopping we were in Dwingeloo, where there is a supermarket, Aldi and smaller business. What is there to complain about? I can think of nothing. The cottage at the Dieversluis suited us well. Beautiful area and right next to a piece of cultural heritage. We had a good week in Dieverbrug. The location is fine and there is entertainment for the door, nice shops and good restaurants within walking distance. The bus terminal Beilen and Assen is a 2-minute walk away. We parked the car on arrival and on departure day come again from the spot. Furthermore, we cycled a lot. We have missed a shed for the bikes and the garden can be dressed up a bit cozier.

We did not find the owner at the agreed address, but in her shop next to the house. It was nice and warm and the house was decorated with Christmas lights both inside and out, very cozy. Very friendly welcome with a fresh bunch of flowers on the table and a delicious Drentse cake in the fridge. The N-road that continues behind the house can be disturbing at times, but that also got used to. Towels and tea towels were abundant. The area is beautiful for cycling. If you don't bring your own bicycles, you can rent them in Dwingeloo (near Reiber). This company helped us very well when we had a flat tire. Just a phone call and they will bring another bike, Top service! The restaurants in both Diever and Dwingeloo were very good and the staff were friendly. Highly recommended to go to this area.

A lovely house, spacious, light and with a view of the water. Radiates tranquility. Furnishing good, kitchen basic, a larger fridge with freezer and dishwasher would make it more complete. It is a spacious light house with lots of light and a beautiful view over the canal. The sofa and chairs are good. I did not find the oven easy to operate. I was missing oven gloves and a baking dish in the inventory. In the early morning traffic noise was significant several times.

Had a wonderful Ascension weekend in this beautiful house on the water. The house looks neat, clean and everything needed is available. The beds sleep wonderfully. And the view is very pleasant. Very beautiful surroundings, with nice villages to visit.

The beautiful weather has certainly contributed to a pleasant stay, door and just walk in and out to the enclosed garden, definitely a plus with the dog that it was his 1st holiday. Because of its location between the Dieverbrug and Dieversluis there is always something to do / view and the view is an ever changing painting. Mingle with the lock wait (st) and help in opening and closing the lock is always appreciated. Directly next door two little shops in the corporate buildings. But there is still an issue the kitchen equipment and tableware some really minimal, while the interior / the decoration of the house is not saved. Disadvantages we found the bed too soft downstairs, the busy street behind the house and the cramped bathroom doors (everyone wakes up if someone had to go to the toilet at night) Advantages are the location (very nice the canal with all the boats in front of the door and several make full standing at the lock in admiration.) The many fishing spots in front of the door. The spacious rooms and 2 bathrooms / toilets and the fun things to do in the area. What a great nice house in a lovely place. We were here (older couple) at the beginning of November. There was no shipping on the canal. The house is really quite complete. And finely decorated living room. A super good double bed downstairs. nice shower and toilet on the ground floor with an incredible amount of towels. Never experienced so much. Upstairs is a 2nd living room and there is a television with integrated DVD player. (no channels) the kitchen is also fine, everything is more than sufficiently available Cooking went excellent. It was wonderfully warm in the house. The landlord is very nice. The house is difficult to find without help. As far as we are concerned, this house deserves a big 10.

We, 4 adults and a toddler, had a great holiday. Reception was pleasant and friendly. Beds were fine and everything you need is there. And the busy road along which the house stands can indeed be heard, but we were not bothered by it. There is plenty of food around you if you don't feel like cooking. A short walk along the water, or within walking distance (5 to 10 minutes) you will come to a nice playground with, among other things, zipline/swing/slide. I think it is also a very nice place to be in the summer.

The equipment is basic but everything works properly. A big advantage is the upper floor where you are more or less independent compared to the ground floor. Our daughters slept upstairs and we downstairs. We had relatively little trouble with traffic. A matter of quick habituation. The curtains used are indeed not blackout, but that was no problem for us. In the rooms where that is relevant, you simply have complete privacy. The stay was mainly a base for us to visit the (very beautiful) area. For us the only downside was the very hard beds. I think a thicker and medium-firm mattress would satisfy more tenants.

Perfect base. Internet was well organized and the bus station you can walk there in 5 minutes so go. Furthermore, youre right between Diever and Dwingeloo where you can find. Previous reviews mentioned noise from traffic but was very disappointing. You can not sit outside nicely given the noise. The glassware was scanty, 3 large wine glasses downstairs (for a house of 4), few small wine glasses and upstairs was nothing at all. On photo it seems much larger than in reality. Top floor lacked some atmosphere and furniture. No nice shower, very thin hard rays. The house was very clean.

A beautiful house in a very nice quiet spot along the water! You see different boats mooring which we personally liked to have as a view from the house. There is a catering facility on both sides of the house and a few minutes' walk away in a Chinese restaurant where you can also pick up. Both the villages Diever and Dwingeloo are about 10 minutes by bike.

We had another wonderful stay in the Kantonniershuisje on the Drentse Hoofdvaart, from September 2 to September 9. The house looked tip top again, thanks to Tarina. We had problems with the t.v. and a lamp broke in the bathroom, but this was quickly fixed by Tarina. Nice tip: next to the house is a nice shop, Zilver & Zo, with a very friendly owner. She sells beautiful jewelry. The Kantonniershuisje is highly recommended, in a beautiful omgeving.Bina and Gerdien.
