In July 2019 a brand new and completely sustainable holiday park will open; Water Village. It is located directly on the Oosterschelde in the Zeeland town of Kamperland.
The small-scale, car-free holiday park Water Village is built sustainably. There is no gas connection and the accommodations are built with sustainable materials. Most of the luxurious modern lodges are on the water.
Water Village itself has no facilities. However, you can (usually free of charge) make use of all facilities at the adjacent Beach Resort. The facilities described are all located on this adjacent holiday park. There is plenty to do for both young and old. Take a dip in the subtropical swimming pool, the kids can tinker in the Koos Kids Club, there is plenty of games in the ChillZone and you can enjoy a drink with a sea view in the Beachclub. And then of course there is the beach and the water; here you can get a breath of fresh air, swim, enjoy the sun or practice one of the many water sports. You will also find, among other things, a kite and windsurf school. You do not have to be bored for a moment.
In the immediate vicinity of the Water Village holiday park there are historic towns such as Veere (15 km) and Zierikzee (26 km.), the storm surge barrier and the kilometre-long coast offer plenty of ideas for fun outings. Veere is also easy to reach by bike. The nearby beach of Oostkapelle (16 km) has a Blue Flag. This European quality mark stands for clean and safe marinas and beaches. The beach at Oostkapelle is even in the Top 10 Cleanest Beaches in the Netherlands. Some other tips for trips; spotting seals during a boat trip on the Oosterschelde. Windsurfing lessons on the Veerse Meer or watch the setting sun from the North Sea beach. The historic cities of Middelburg (20 km) and Goes (21 km) are also worth a visit. Here you can enjoy a day of shopping, enjoy a bite at one of the many restaurants and terraces or immerse yourself in art and culture.
Water Village; the ultimate destination if you want to have all the facilities at hand, but do not want to stay in the middle of all the bustle.
Water Village does not have it's own reception. If you have questions, you can use the reception of the neighbouring park, Beach Resort.
All described facilities (also the images shown here) are on the neighbouring holiday park Beach Resort. As a guest of Water Village, you are able to use all these facilities.
In the case of other groups than families, an extra deposit of € 50 per person may be required.
Due to maintenance work, the Roompot Beach Resort pool will be closed from Monday 29 November to Monday 6 December. You are welcome to go swimming in the pool at Hof Domburg. This is about 20 minutes away by car.

Upon our arrival at 4:00 PM, the house had not yet been cleaned. It was extremely dirty, including dog feces in the garden and empty beer bottles. At the same time as us, a cleaner arrived and told us it was a bad day, but she would clean up right away. We would have liked to sit on the garden chairs, but they were so greasy and dirty that we preferred not to. After 30 minutes, another colleague of the nice lady joined, and together they actually finished cleaning after an hour. . . . . the surfaces were actually vacuumed with the vacuum cleaner that had previously been used to empty the toilet. No damp wiping or anything like that. The two were quickly gone again, and we were supposed to complain at the reception if there was anything else, because they should have been off work a long time ago, and their task was not cleaning but just checking whether it had been cleaned at all. We pointed out the dog feces again, which was then quickly picked up. In the house, we experienced quite a bit... old food in the kitchen cabinets, drawers full of crumbs. All handles of all cabinets dirty and sticky, dirt and hair under the beds and sofa, old dog toy in the corner, the trash can dirty and still has leftovers, the toilet... what should I say... yellow, sticky including a toilet brush that still had paper stuck to it. Dirt in all corners, all cabinets and doors dirty and not wiped down from the outside. Dust on all lamps and windowsills and that didn't come from 14 days. Here, it definitely hasn't been wiped down in a long time. The extractor hood was just as big an adventure as the coffee machine, which was completely dirty inside. We took pictures and then, of course, went to the reception to complain. The gentleman there was very nice and promised to send someone again. This happened quite quickly, and the cabinets in the kitchen were cleaned and checked again. Everything else remained as it was: cobwebs in the upper windows, the track of the sliding doors full of hair and dirt. We could only laugh and started cleaning ourselves as best as we could. The furniture is so worn out in this house, which is supposed to be a luxury lodge and for which we paid a lot of money. Ultimately, we had a nice week there where we managed with everything. But it left and still leaves a very bad aftertaste, and we feel quite cheated. It's a shame because the Water Village complex is very beautiful. This company is no longer an option for us.

The Water Village - Zeeland. We stayed in a wonderful holiday home in Zeeland. It was perfect for 6 people. There was plenty of light, the overall decor was minimalist in a good way, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The only minus was the steep stairs (ladder) to the room upstairs. It worked for us but would be difficult for younger children or those with limited mobility.

Spacious holiday home. Upstairs bedroom can only be reached via very steep stairs / ladder and has a very low headroom. Service desk not accessible outside arrival times. Facilities in order. Delivery service Terrace-cafe very bad, do not answer the phone. Pick-up was also not processed and people were referred to the adjacent snack bar. In short, not worth repeating for us.

Nice and clean house, very small bedrooms. The stairs are unsafe, so the children had to sleep in our bedroom and a bedroom could not be used. Beds not made as agreed. In addition, a camp bed did not fit in a bedroom, which meant that 1 child had to sleep in the elder's bed. We have rented a 6 person house with 4 adults and 2 small children, but actually too small for this composition.
