Location and surroundings of object
Resort De Woudhoeve is located in Egmond aan den Hoef, at the edge of Europe's most beautiful dune reserve and within cycling distance from the beach and sea. There are many facilities on the park itself, including an open air swimming pool and a recreation lake with sandy beach. In the summer months there is a recreation team. In the immediate vicinity there is the beach (about 15 minutes by bike), and the charming centre of Egmond (4 km) with many restaurants, terraces and shops. The art village of Bergen has festivals (Jazz & Sail, lighted evenings) and art markets. The charming cheese town of Alkmaar with the Waagplein is nearby. There are various terraces and the cheese market. You can also hire a boat and explore the charming canals of Alkmaar. Other excursions in the area include the Beverwijk Bazaar with Chinatown, fairy tale wonderland in Enkhuizen, the steam train from Hoorn to Enkhuizen, and the sea aquariums in Bergen aan Zee or Den Helder.
Resort De Woudhoeve is a charming holiday park with detached chalets and many facilities for all ages from swimming pool to snack bar.
The accommodation at this holiday park is intended for recreational use. Therefore, it is prohibited to stay at the holiday park for any purpose other than recreation. If it transpires that the purpose of your stay is any other than recreational, you'll be denied access to the park.
The swimming pool is open from the 1st of May.

We already know the complex from several stays. The house was again very nice and well maintained. The pool is always great for cooling off! We will be back...

Everything is fine except the beds. The beds are like trampolines with those springs, terrible for your back.

Beautiful surroundings. Plenty to do in the neighborhood. The cottage was fine in terms of space. It was unfortunately not very clean when we arrived. Very lot of dust and dirt on the floor. And ants in house.

The cottage is clean and well equipped, neat clean and reasonably spacious. Proximity to beach and village with the car well. Minuses were however very sagging second bed, and the moisture and mold in the closet in the bedroom. But the worst point we found it on / steps down, awkwardly made a few paving stones. One of us also tripped off his ankle. And sprained A seriously annoying thing because that weeks of misery from a weekend away. Means Urgent request to the management of the park to do something about this. We are young but an older guest can just break something!

Chalet was in the middle of the park, plenty of privacy! The sea is 15 minutes by bike. Good area for cycling. The park is very focused on children. Chalet was clean, well maintained. And a nice garden. I really enjoyed it!

kept park bad beds, pillows, bed linen not obliged looks clean, dirty duvet, moldy coffee in coffee. Device for 4 persons.

I will not recommend this holiday park to others for various reasons> I took my grandchildren age 3 and 6, and specially choose this park for what was on offer. On arrival , the pool was not open, due to cold weather. On the Tuesday morning I asked again when it would open. They could not answer. Pool was finally opened on Tuesday afternoon. The childrens indoor play area, was closed from sunday evening till wed. morning 12. No where was this written beforehand. So No POOL, NO Indoor play area for children for several days. My daughter had to sleep on the thinnest mattress I have ever seen, Poor for children, not at all usuable for adults. There were No instructions about how to use the var. electric appliances. like OVEN, which we never got to work. There were a lot of Ants, (when I mentioned this to reception, they gave me something to catch ants). When I made a complaint about various to the reception, they made me feel if it was my fault, They never said Sorry, only full of excuses , I am the client, they were almost rude.

Every day cycling trips made. The setting is beautiful and what surprised us was the wide strip of dunes, we are not used for example in New Zealand are the dunes in a row and that's it, you could in the dunes beautiful bikes and could then also nice sheltered rijden.In a word super.

The photos did not correspond to reality. The house was not cleaned well. There was dirt on the floor, a dead fly and there were ants. We can clean the house again, but it was then hardly better than before. At least effective ant baits were placed. The beds were a disaster, meters high and much too soft, it was impossible to sleep well there. Good thing we had to stay only 2 nights. We love the Netherlands and the surrounding collar around Egmond, but this property, we can not recommend.

The residence ticket did not say which chalet number we had, so when we arrived later than 17.00 we had no idea which chalet number we had. The reception had not told me. Also we could not find the emergency number of the park itself to ask for this, not online, not in the emails I received about my stay. When we called the call villa emergency number, they gave several options where we could find the emergency number. An hour later we found the emergency number and were able to enter. In the house itself it was very dusty, there were stains on the plates and cutlery, so we had to wash it again by hand, because the dishwasher did not do its job as well. Furthermore, the beds were fine and after 5 minutes the shower finally switches to a normal temperature, the jet is good. Fortunately, the bathroom was clean.
