Location and surroundings of object

Resort Markermeer first opened its doors in 2018. It's a modern resort, on the banks of the Markermeer, not far from West Frisian town of Enkhuizen.

The resort is a great place to be. Besides the brasserie with pleasant terrace, you'll find playground equipment/playgrounds for the children, a small marina and an area for sunbathing. Here you can enjoy the sun after taking a dip in the Markermeer.

There are several cycling and hikng routes to explore the diverse surroundings. There also are possibilities for different day trips. Towns like Enkhuizen (5 km), Hoorn (16 km) and Alkmaar (43) can easily be reached. Here you can go shopping, have a great meal in one of the many restaurants or enjoy the afternoon sun in one of the outdoor cafes. In Enkhuizen you'll find the "Zuiderzee" museum. Here you can get acquainted with the cultural heritage from the time when Holland's largest lake was still a sea. The Zaanse Schans can be reached easily from Bovenkarspel (46 km). Here you can find buildings and occupations from the 18th and 19th century. Nice and interesting. Volendam (39 km), also a tourist attraction, can also be reached easily.

In short: a top location in North Holland.

As announced in the travel description the front desk on the day of arrival was only until 17 o'clock occupied. Due to dust we were late. When we communicated this at 1530 by telephone, we were first asked to transfer the deposit and the remaining on-site fees (final cleaning, ...), so that a key can be deposited in the outdoor safe. Since we could not comply with this request, the reception was then - after some back and forth - even longer open. At the first moment we saw ourselves already back ... Overall, the front desk is occupied only on Fridays and Mondays. So we were able to complain about our defective wireless Internet access on Monday, but got a replacement access immediately -) The park is overall very modern and new. Due to this, the landscape gardening plant of the outdoor area is still growing up. However, this increases the opportunity for all fellow travelers (especially the children) to quickly make new contacts. The bungalow No. 11 is very new and functional. It lies in the third and thus the last row, seen from the shoreline. Unfortunately, it has a more or less clear slope towards the terrace, as if it had been pitched from the beginning. Thus, the sliding door to the shower opens automatically after a while, if you do not close with force. The right next to the park running national road is quite loud. Even when the window is closed (in April) you are awakened in the morning by the very numerous traffic flowing. With correspondingly higher temperatures and windows open at night, this effect is certainly even more disturbing. The more one moves with the bungalows from the road to the coastline, the quieter it gets, whereby the road is always noticeable. The terraces of the houses directly on the coastline are likely to be very drafty with the corresponding wind direction and strength. The sandy beach on the map at the playground is not (yet)

Upon arrival it was not entirely clear where the park was, was not indicated anywhere. The reception was very friendly. Everything was clearly told. The staff who work at Resort Markermeer are all very nice! The house looked fine! (missed only a microwave, which was on the accommodation description.) Everything was on and on. Our house was on a busy road, but at a certain point you do not hear that anymore (idea to install a sound wall?) You saw that the resort was still under development, but we had no noise from the work traffic. Our first holiday together with our 5 month old puppy, was great! Walked wonderfully in the area, visited towns (Enkhuizen, Hoorn) and went to the beach (Callantsoog). All in all great holiday!

Arrival was good. The only thing missing was a combi microwave which was mentioned in the layout. There were papers for instructions for use. Was a shame, because we wanted to use this because of baking rolls etc. We also only discovered on Sunday evening that the television did not work, sound but no image. Environment, especially towns, was very nice.

The accommodation is basically ok, just in lightweight construction. For German standards missing a toaster. The loud traffic is annoying especially in the morning hours. In addition still construction noise, since the plant is not finished yet. Unfortunately no catering in the evening.

Check-in went smoothly, despite an error regarding the charges for our two dogs. The cottage was difficult to find. The car could not be next to the house. The cottage was clean and the inventory complete (only too few hangers). It was equipped for 5/6 people, but it was too small for that: max. 2 adults with 2 small children. The mattresses in the bedroom were due for replacement, there was no cupboard for groceries, so we used the third bedroom, with bunk beds, as a pantry. Nice space for the house, terrace plus lawn. It was a pity that only the houses on the water offered access to the water. The residents of the other houses could only get to the water outside the park. The area was very beautiful, with nice towns and villages nearby. We were lucky that the weather was nice. We wouldn't have wanted to sit here in bad weather.

The area is very well maintained, well landscaped and clean. The view is a dream, directly the sea! The accommodation was very nice and modern, but for small children (16 months) not so good. We did not have a proper changing facilities in the house (would have been a wall mount) and a swimming. Otherwise but really great! We got a high chair and a travel cot. The houses are unfortunately very clairaudient. Unfortunately, we were not so satisfied with the playground on the course. For our child (16 months) there was no play possibilities except for a trampoline, a small house and the paddling pool. All other equipment was for older children (seesaw, swing, slide ...). The playground is right on the sea and unfortunately not fenced. Is very dangerous. From the playground it goes directly into the water without demarcation or beach. The bar terrace is also not fenced, so you can fall from there directly into the sea. Conclusion: For families with older children or babies it is really nice but for toddlers who can just walk and discover everything it is not optimal. The environment is very quiet. The adjacent town is very nice. And what we absolutely recommend is the Sprookjeswonderland (a theme park for toddlers).

The house was very warm in the summer heat of this year. At night it was uncomfortable. A total but well equipped house in which we felt comfortable. Since the plant is still partially under construction, dust and noise pollution. Overall but only minor disturbances.

a lot of inconvenience because the park is under construction. Did we know in advance that this was the case, but not that the nuisance was so bad. A lot of noise early in the morning, a lot of noise and work traffic through the day, a lot of dust and nuisance during meals outside, also a lot of noise from the busy road at the back of the park, so only the houses on the water are desirable. Had this known, we had not booked this.Jam did not settle.Environment of the park was nice and when it is finished it will be beautiful, location on the water is nice, but by all the crowds around it you could do not enjoy this.

If someone wants to be woken up with dredging noise at 800 o'clock in the morning, then it is ok. It was not really a nice holiday, because you noticed, that everything is still in its infancy and not everything is organized. Reception only on Mondays and Fridays. Eat and drink as it went straight from the drain. When it's all done, it will certainly be a very nice facility. The bungalows are top, but without oven, that we were very surprised.

So basically it is neat, nice and clean. The decor of our house was visually very chic, but virtually somehow difficult. We had a house for 5 people, there was also sleeps for 5 people, but you squats but pretty much on each other, sometimes in the living room only a 2-person couch is and the rest has to sit at the dining table. The bunk bed had no edge or the like on the upper bed and I would not let kids sleep there. In the bedroom with the double bed is so tight that the closet is not quite open. The toilet was so narrow and small that you have to sit down and put down the door must have open, otherwise you will bump your head. In the kitchen is a gas stove, which I personally do not like, because everything around it gets terribly hot, but that's a matter of taste. There is also only one stove, no oven, you cut something in the cooking. The beach and the possibilities to lie down is a bit difficult, especially with small children. There is no real beach, just a jetty in the water. At the most you can lie down on the playground, but then the children can not play anymore. Otherwise, there are only a few tables and chairs that belong to a small restaurant. If the resort is fully booked but not even half has space. Last but not least .... We did not have anyone using a wheelchair, but for such people it is rather difficult, they do not even come close to the water.

The confirmation of our booking included price including bed linen, booking costs, final cleaning, non-life insurance and service costs. However, we had to pay € 95.00 at the reception before we received the key. Misleading information that we are going to make work of!

The house was very nice and in a clean and well maintained condition with sea view! Small criticisms are for us, the narrow development, no existing mosquito nets and the lack of opportunity to eat well on several days. The right ambience would be there!

The arrival was great and we were received very friendly. The chalet was very nice and above all very clean and cozy. We felt absolutely comfortable there and will definitely be back. The house is beautifully located on the Marker Sea. Unfortunately nobody at the reception could speak German. The grill didn't have an oven and the parasol was broken. At the reception they promised to change it, but nothing like that happened. The surroundings are very beautiful and you can quickly reach other places on the Marker Meer. I can recommend it with a clear conscience.

On arrival someone was present at the reception. However, after the arrival time is not. Park is still under construction. The houses that are rented are finished. Neatly cared for with beautiful decor and very clean. However, some inconvenience of work traffic in the park. No entertainment. However, a snack corner or bar, but not open every day. Swim beach with playground, terrace. Environment is a lot to do. Enkhuizen very nice and many attractions.

Cottage with beautiful view. It is quite small and in the master bedroom you can barely walk next to the bed (queen size bed). The door of the closet therefore opened a little bit. The door of the shower cubicle was broken, we repaired it ourselves. There was NO combination microwave only, an old regular microwave, so I couldn't finish my lasagna. Flap freezer half broken and the outer door was difficult to close. If I had children I wouldn't leave them in the bunk bed, they can roll out like that. Wifi, TV, dishwasher, outdoor terrace fine, If you have difficulty walking, high entry is also not nice.
