Great little retreat with pool access!

The first few days were very hot. 38 degrees. We had just come from another house that had no air conditioning, and that was not very pleasant. More of a trial. Therefore, it was a huge surprise that this house had air conditioning in the living kitchen. That was not mentioned in the description. This living kitchen is actually an extended part of the house. It has glass sliding doors all around and a small terrace next to it. Very cozy but simply furnished. And cool. Furthermore, there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom in the house itself. Fine further. Everything is very simply furnished and decorated. No luxury. But cozy. The owners have really made an effort. Nice people too. From the living kitchen, you look out over a green valley. The rented part of the house is attached to that of the owners. Next to the house, on the owner's side, there is a large beautiful swimming pool. Despite this arrangement, there is total privacy. Also at the pool. You are nowhere in sight. We haven't seen or heard the owners since the first day after arrival, even though they were there. Very neat. The house is quite remote in nature. Small but well-maintained roads. There is a village nearby where everything you need is for sale. You don't need to look for a Hypermarket. It was a nice week.

Lovely house with a nice pool, quietly located in the Dordogne. The house is well furnished and ideal for relaxing. Please note that it can get a bit warm inside at high temperatures, and that many tourist excursions require a bit of driving. On the other hand, you fully enjoy the peace, space, and the pool. Friendly and clear communication with the landlord.

We had a nice vacation at this Belvilla. Advantages: - there were vases with fresh flowers (probably from the garden) inside. - wide view from the kitchen and terrace - complete kitchenware - combi oven can also be used as an oven up to 200 degrees - the surroundings are quiet, soothing nature sounds - nice bakery and two small supermarkets nearby - front and back terrace so you can choose whether you want sun or not - friendly owners. Their presence is not intrusive and they are discreet. Improvement points - air conditioning should be on between 5 PM and 9 PM at temperatures above 35 degrees outside; it was very hot, so we would have preferred longer times. It also took a long time for it to cool down with the air conditioning. - washing machine with extra actions, but the owners are going to do something about it - you can't sit at the dining table, there is a beam under the tabletop which makes it too low in relation to the chairs, so your legs don't fit under the table (it doesn't matter how tall you are) - keep windows and doors closed during the day, then the insects are manageable. Insect screens would be nice, especially since comments about the insects have been made before. - bed is way too small for 2 people, we are NL but not very tall (175cm) - owners are your direct neighbors and the pool is on their side. - covered terrace too warm to sit on during the day. Kitchen windows act like a greenhouse, sun shading on the outside would be a solution. - trash can (ladies bin) in the toilet is missing.

This holiday home was a dream for our family trip! The pool was perfect for cooling off after a long day exploring nearby Villefranche-du-Périgord. The kitchen was well-equipped, making cooking together a joy. Highly recommended!

Our stay was quite pleasant. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable vacation. The two bedrooms were spacious enough for our family of three. The location is great for visiting local attractions like Castelnaud la Chapelle. We particularly enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, which is perfect for relaxation. The little house and the view were great! The pool is a bit further to walk than expected, namely on the landlord's side, but it's lovely. There are indeed many insects, as many people have described, but you are right in the middle of the countryside. However, the mattress was so bad, it's incomprehensible that no one has mentioned it. I reported it to the landlord right away on the first night, who immediately sent someone to measure everything. Super! However, it turned out that she went to the store only 3 days later and the mattress arrived 5 days later. After 5 nights of poor sleep, this was too long for us, which led us to cut the vacation short. When we mentioned this to the landlord, her hospitality immediately changed to someone who was constantly shouting, blaming us because the mattress was supposedly still fine and that she had gotten the mattress specifically for us and we were not grateful enough. Understandable that it was not a pleasant situation for her either, but it could have been resolved/communicated differently. We didn't know how quickly we had to jump in the car to go to the Netherlands afterwards.

A well cared for spacious house, beautiful garden with well maintained pool. It was also great for our two small children, decorated very kid friendly. The semi-covered terrace we loved, every night to sit for long without being bothered by insects. The cottage is quite remote, but is ideal if you would like to do day trips, quite a lot to see in the neighborhood. Only minus; the little ants on the kitchen counter, but with a product that was so fixed.

This accommodation was perfect for us. Wonderfully quiet and so atmospheric! The pool is great and we spent many hours on the roof terrace. Looking at the setting sun. Our bikes could go in the shed and we could have a nice barbecue. Ideally, you can walk to Villefranche du Pericord in 20 minutes. Heavy because of the hills. This village is also very atmospheric.
