It is a fine, simple house with everything you need. The name of the house is correct, you have a nice view. The garden, not fenced, is nice and was nice for our dog. And if you like sauna, there is a very nice sauna in the garden. In the cottage were folders full of folders about things to do in the Thuringia Forest. Great for when you get there for the first time. The owners were very friendly. We were there in the third week of September, it was partly wet and especially cold (< 10 degrees). The catering in the area is limited and was largely already closed. So we ate in the house more often than we normally do. You can walk endlessly and partly also cycle. An E-MTB is recommended. The signage is bad. Luckily we had Maps.me and GPS. Every village has its own way of declaring things. If you want to follow walk A, that sign had disappeared at the next exit, but many other indications. Look for peace, no mass tourism. Would you like to walk. Then this is a great place to be in a nice house with friendly people. In our opinion, definitely recommended.

House is situated in a beautiful and quiet area right on the edge. Hiking can therefore be started directly at the house. Ideal for holidays with dog. We were with our dog (10 years) hike for hours without a human encounter. Hiking area is specifically designed for all ages. But excursions into the surrounding environment (Saalfeld, Rudolstadt, Weimar, Hohenwarte - Stausee) are worthwhile. The owner are very friendly and accommodating. The house is very clean and neatly furnished.

Upon arrival the owners were not present, but the key was available. Later, however, we were having a glass of wine verwelkomd.Verrassing was that the cottage renovated inside appeared to zijn.Nieuwe carpeting, new bed and painted and have new aankleding. We can enjoy walking our dog made friends with the nearby existing sheep. Walking the Nordic walking trail is a must, well signposted and easy to do, something more like an hour and walk starts from the upper pitches. A visit in Weimar is an absolute must, but just a tour in the area too. There is plenty to see as the Leipziger Turm, the dam of the nearby reservoir, the Frobeltoren in Schmiedeberg Field, which incidentally also an old opencast ore mine located with even a little railway with locomotives and wagons. Although you near the residence of the owners is you do not notice their presence. They are often absent because of work, but if necessary it accessible.

The house is situated in a cul-de-sac above the village. From the house, overlooking a part of the village and the hills and woods across the street. Walks start from the house, or in the vicinity. Possibly. winter sports at 8 km distance. Property is fully equipped. Additional costs in winter are a little on the high side. Owners leave you completely alone. In the house there are plenty of maps and brochures to plan events. In the village within walking distance are a bakery and a restaurant. Outside the village a good supermarket.

Despite the bad weather we had a great holiday, with visits to include Weimar, Arnstad where on Tuesday a goods market is also a visit to Rudolstadt is worth, one should also take just the porcelain museum and the glass house do not forget to visit. The owner of the vacation house and the people are very friendly and helpful. My holiday in Thuringia is already booked for next year just another plaats.Rien of Ocsh, Betsie van de Ven and the dog Pluto

Great house. Very convenient to visit. This part of the former GDR again Several cities not too far away for a day trip. But above all, very suitable for walking along the Rennsteig. Hours wandering without a human encountering. Fine restaurant within walking distance of the cottage.

A few days spent in this wonderfully quiet holiday home. The house is nicely decorated and has a nice free garden. We have often used the picnic table and the sunbeds. The surroundings are beautiful and comparable to the other German mountain ranges, but ... what a rest! The trails are well signposted and hardened with gravel. During the walks with our dog through the beautiful nature, it was enjoying the surroundings and the beautiful views. Furthermore, we did not encounter anyone during our walks, more strongly we have the idea that this part of the Thuringer Wald should still be discovered by tourists. A must for rest and nature lovers!
