Location and surroundings of object
Hasenthal is located in the valley at 567 m above sea level in the Thuringian Slate Mountains on the border to Bavaria. The Rennsteig trail is easy to reach from here
Lauenstein Castle is a great hiking destination with its confectionery. But there is also plenty to discover in Sonneberg, the toy museum, sea aquarium and zoo.
Schmiedefeld has an exhibition mine and a healing gallery.
And who doesn't know the glass art of Thuringia, Christmas exhibitions all year round in Lauscha and the surrounding area.
In summer there are several lakes to swim in, such as the Öschnitzsee. Here you can not only swim, but there is a lot to discover, a huge playground and mini-golf course. For bikers there is an arena in Steinach.
Traced trails along the Rennsteig for cross-country skiers and the ski arena in Steinach for alpine skiers.
Saalfeld with its fairy grottos and Oberhof are easy to reach by car.

Christmas in the Thuringian Forest and we already look forward to watching TV in the summer.
We felt very comfortable in the house (2 families with 2 kids aged 4 and 7 each and our 2 furry friends); nothing was missing. The Christmas tree was already set up and festively decorated. The area offers a lot of variety for both young and old, and when the weather was bad, we stayed in the house and used the many games as well as the sauna; wellness is nice to have sometimes. We are already looking forward to the summer because we will come back. Oh yes, the landlords are very nice.
