The cottage is located in a tiny village (baker, butcher, nothing else), so nice and quiet but need a car for shopping in Grossbreitenbach or Neustadt am Rennsteig. Large garden, balcony / terrace in front and back to sit. The lessor is very friendly. For sightseeing you do have to Erfurt in the car about 50 minutes (worth it), Weimar even further and Eisenach Wartburg is almost 1.5 hours away. Ilmenau is just half an hour, nice for shopping and the Goethe-Stadt Museum is also nice. Many walks in the area, beautiful forests. Tip to watch out there's a wide double bed (2 single mattresses between 5 cm) though only 1.90m long with an end plate, so if you are tall is difficult. In the other room is a bed of (estimated) 1.40 so it looks like it is 2 meters long. And an area for improvement, there are no curtains in the bedroom, and not for the skylight that was right above the headboard of the bed. That was in the summer when it is not convenient at half past five light ...

A quiet week in the Thuringian Forest spent. Unfortunately a bit rainy - so the beautiful hiking opportunities can not use that.

House Kummer has pleased us very well. We met at the house spotless. Everything you need is there and the owner is very nice. Just from the cottage you can make five sides of a nice walk. Nearby is also plenty to do, a car is essential. Every small town has a bakery, a butcher .... and a pool. In a cozy terrace or restaurant you have to search or go to a bigger place. A wonderful location for walkers! The much vaunted Rennsteig is almost past the house. In Erfurt and Weimar experience. Much culture Many museums and beautiful places with ditto terrassen.Beide cities can be reached within one hour. 4 km is a beautiful wellness center (Masserberg) where you can enjoy in sauna 's and zwembaden.Zeker you for 15 euros a day also a must is a visit to the bunker museum Frauenwald. A guide leads you around in a bunker complex for 175 people from the time of the GDR. cities like Leipzig and Dresden are unfortunately just too far away (200km) Tired? In a garden as a football field is a nice place! The owner is enthusiastic and gives many tips to its tenants

Blissful week in the beautiful Altenfeld! The cottage was very neat, the Kummer family is very kind, the area offers possibilities for beautiful walks. Super! There is a garden uphill from a few tens of meters long that offered a lot of entertainment for our little one. To our surprise we had the lovely village in the snow.

The house is nicely located in a quiet village. It is very easy to walk up into the hills or onto part of the famous Rennsteig. The house was clean and well equipped, the main bedroom was very large and the garden massive with a good outside seating area. The owners weren't far away and were friendly and helpful.

Beautiful area perfect for hiking. It is in a very quiet village. Amenities (bank / restaurant / grocery store) located in the village 5 km away. Beautiful (steeply rising) garden cottage is neat but do not expect luxury.

A lovely area to spend the winter (sport) holiday. There are several elevators in the area, many marked trails within a radius of 20 kilometers and no pressure and stress but quietness and the purity of a country and its people. The house with a long, uphill yard perfect for the kids (7 and 10 years) to use the sled. You walk behind as nature in the garden.
