Description

Apartment "Lyhsi": 64 sqm 2-5 pers., open kitchen with living room and corner folding sofa and another sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped with cooker, microwave, coffee machine, bedroom with double bed with direct access to shower/WC.
The view from all windows shows you the mountains and meadows.
Our holiday flat Lyhs is located in a holiday house, which is almost at the end or entrance of the valley village Fehrenbach
Our house is quietly situated and is about 20 metres away from the road. At the back of the house flows the small stream Biber. Behind the house, beautiful mountain meadows and forests invite you to go hiking or snow hiking.
Parking/barbecue directly in front of the house. Sauna is located in the basement for a fee. All apartments are equipped with bed linen, towels, tea towels and bath towels. There is another large apartment for 8 people and a smaller one for 2 people.

Location and surroundings of object

The apartment is located at the end of the village/beginning of the village in a quiet location. The village of Fehrenbach is approx. 1.5 km long and is bordered on both sides by beautiful mountains. On the way to Masserberg you will pass through the Fehrenbach Switzerland, a beautiful landscape in summer and winter.
A large bathing lake with a beach is only a few minutes away by car.
Masserberg is a health resort on the heights of the Thuringian Forest at almost 900 metres above sea level. The municipality of Masserberg consists of 4 villages: Masserberg, Heubach, Fehrenbach (700 m) and Schnett. The holiday home is located in Fehrenbach. Fehrenbach is an idyllic village with approx. 800 inhabitants, nestled in the valley by beautiful mixed forests and many hiking trails. Regional restaurants with Thuringian cuisine offer excellent food at still reasonable prices. Cross-country ski trails and ski lifts are only a few minutes away. There are 3 ski lifts and approx. 70 km of cross-country ski trails in the surrounding area. The longest hiking trail in Europe, the "Rennsteig" with 168 km is only 2 km away. Hiking trails can be reached in just 100 metres from the fewo.

Motorcyclists are welcome! Landlord himself as a motorcycle ride guide. Ask for special is bathing and swimming in about 10 minutes, a large lake with a beach.

Summer holiday 2017

I spent a very nice week in the flat with my daughter and our dog. The flat corresponds exactly to the description. The comfortable beds and the excellent apple strudel are very noteworthy :-). You can start your hikes right from the flat and don't necessarily need a car. However, since we also like to go sightseeing, we also went by car, and the fairy grotto is especially recommended. It is also ideal for children. We will definitely come back again.

We spent a week in this lovely vacation rental with our dog and can only recommend it. It served as a starting point for beautiful hikes through the forest, around the reservoir, and across wonderful blooming mountain meadows. Pure relaxation. A good night's sleep is guaranteed.

the nice welcome and the delicious apple strudel are not available everywhere.
The flat is very well furnished and we can recommend it without hesitation.

Cozy holiday apartment in a great location!

Cozy, spacious, and well-equipped holiday apartment with a view of a mountain slope; just a few minutes from the Rennsteig trail, in winter from various excellently groomed cross-country skiing trails in beautiful nature; in close proximity to two downhill slopes (Masserberg, Heubach), great tobogganing opportunities; possibility of using the sauna in the house with a lovingly arranged atmosphere by Mrs. Lyhs; in short: a convenient starting point for activities in magnificent nature, dedicated and attentive landlady! We (parents and three children) felt completely comfortable here. It was very cozy and beautifully furnished. The location is perfect for exploring the surroundings. It was a great holiday.

Ski vacation spontaneously booked

We spontaneously drove to the Thuringian Forest to show our cross-country skis some snow. We found a really great accommodation and were warmly welcomed by Mrs. Lyhs. The holiday apartment is just fantastic. Lovingly furnished down to the smallest detail, we felt at home immediately. Every morning the baker came with fresh bread rolls. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. After our cross-country skiing tour - the trails are excellent - we went to the sauna in the evening. It was set up very lovingly as well. This area is also excellent for snowshoeing, for example, to the source of the Werra River. We felt totally comfortable and will definitely visit Frau Lyhs again.

We look forward to seeing you again.

Very nice holiday apartment

For many years now, we have been regularly going on winter sports trips to the Thuringian Forest and enjoying the cozy holiday apartment as well as the family atmosphere in the house. The connection to the cross-country ski trails is excellent, everything is within short distances. The small sauna in the house and the fantastic location of the village are worth mentioning. There are at least two restaurants in the village with recommendable Thuringian lunch options. We have returned home very well rested.
