Beautiful environment. The house is very nicely located. However, it is NOT suitable for 4 people. The loft bed is accessible via a very steep ladder. I tried, but was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it off again... mind you, we were 4 seniors. The dining area was also a bit cramped for 4 adults. Upon arrival, the waste bins appeared to be full. I just contacted them to ask when they could reach the road... lighting was mediocre, not suitable for reading. We were glad we only booked 1 week. But the environment made up for a lot!

The garden could be better maintained. It has a solid basic equipment, is cozy, and invites you to linger. Unfortunately, we found it not as clean (due to the final cleaning) as we are used to in our own four walls. A very nice extended weekend spent in a great area.

What a fantastic place! Beautiful surroundings, here you can really relax. And if you do want to do something, Willingen and Winterberg are a fifteen minute drive away. We were here with our 2 children aged 14 and 8 and we were never bored. Highly recommended! Finally: we have never had such a warm welcome. Our hostess was enthusiastic, interested and super sweet. What a great woman. Thank you for taking good care of us.

The house is in a very nice location. You have a lot of privacy. The house is completely surrounded by beautiful greenery, creating a natural barrier for the dog, for example. Our dog is quite an "escape artist" but it went well.
We contacted one of the owners because we were a bit early. Were greeted very friendly. In this case it was no problem and we were able to enter earlier.
House was very neat and clean and there was a nice surprise ready.😃
The house is fully equipped and the bed we used was fine, we thought. Nice spacious bathroom.
If you like to watch TV and are not from Germany, it might be a good idea to bring a Chromecast here too. The satellite has many German channels. Couldn't find any Dutch ones, but the TV and WiFi are both perfectly suitable for the Chromecast.
We find the area very beautiful. We had a nice walk with the dog.

Fantastic holiday home, within walking distance of the Hennesee, we were here for a week for Pentecost and really enjoyed the well-maintained and cozy decorated holiday home. Everything was present, even a dishwasher, good sturdy beds, and a nice shower, a large terrace around the house with plenty of seating and lounging spots, and also completely fenced, which was nice for our cocker spaniel, plenty of walking and cycling routes in the area. A trip to Meschede is also just a few minutes by car, easy to drive for shopping or errands. The people are friendly and love to chat, definitely worth a repeat visit. An oasis of peace, space, and nature, high in the mountains, if you want to escape the hustle and bustle, this holiday home is the ultimate pleasure of vacationing. Nice little house, nice surroundings! However, we were there with our dog and there are hardly any opportunities for them to run free. The small beach by the lake was even off-limits for dogs. Other areas mostly had signs stating that dogs had to be leashed. I am convinced that you only get frustrated, unfriendly dogs if they can't release their energy by running, playing, and swimming. The dog area at Hillbachsee is far too small for large energetic dogs. So, it's a nice holiday home and beautiful surroundings, but in my opinion, not so great for dogs.

A very nice little house. Lots of greenery, a lot of privacy. You are in a kind of holiday park and can hear the neighbors when you are outside but do not see them. The house was tidy and clean and equipped with all conveniences. Multiple terraces so you can always sit comfortably somewhere. A great base for day trips in the area. Good shower and good bed. Beautiful view. There was a nice welcome package upon arrival, it is of course not necessary but very nice and you really feel welcome. We had a wonderful week.

Big disappointment – Absolutely not recommended!

What a horrible experience! The reality of this holiday home does not match the wonderful reviews we read. This cottage was downright dirty and dilapidated. From the moment we entered, we felt misled and cheated.
It was obvious that the cleaning had not been carried out for years. There were thick layers of dust and cobwebs everywhere. The bathroom was terrible; the shower cubicle was covered in mold from top to bottom. Due to wear and tear, dangerous metal parts were sticking out, which made it easy to injure yourself. The toilet was also incredibly dated and so low that it literally posed a risk to your body to sit on it.
The cottage was full of fat, black horseflies, which felt particularly unhygienic. The bed had completely sagged – we ended up in a deep hole when we lay down. The couch was also covered with dirty, dusty rags, clearly to hide the severe wear and tear. The only thing this couch could hide was the illusion that it had once been comfortable.

The front door felt unsafe; the lock was literally half loose, making it look like it was being broken into regularly. The curtains were covered in dust and looked so dusty that we were afraid of the amount of dust particles we would inhale when touching them.

We wanted to vacuum the cottage ourselves to make it somewhat liveable, but even the vacuum cleaner gave off a horrible stench. The lighting throughout the cottage was poor, making it feel like we were in an old, neglected barn rather than a holiday home.

We ended up leaving the cottage before the week was up. This was definitely not the holiday we had hoped for. This cottage should have offered us a week of relaxation, but turned out to be a nightmare. We would absolutely not recommend this house to anyone. What a complete disappointment and waste of money!

My 87-year-old mother, my dog and I felt very comfortable in the cozy little house with lots of seating around the many plants. The dog was able to roam freely on the property and my mother happily lay down on the loungers after the walks around the Hennesee to rest in the sunshine. The landlords are very nice and accommodating. We definitely want to go there again. It was a wonderful break!

Thank you very much! The kitchen was very well equipped, and we also used the free Wi-Fi. The dishes and the rest of the entire inventory of the house were clean. The outdoor area was not entirely well-kept and unfortunately also not completely fenced. Thus, we always had to leash the dogs first when we opened the doors. One of our female dogs came from the shelter and is not as obedient as our second female dog, which we have had since puppy age. Not so great in rainy weather and early in the morning. Unfortunately, the sofa bed was quite hard, and my adult daughter had to put a mattress from the loft bed on top of it. This made the nights a bit less painful. Unfortunately, the mattresses in the double bed were not very comfortable either, and they should also be replaced with higher-quality mattresses. We left the holiday home a day earlier because my daughter and I had pain due to the mattresses. Nevertheless, we were pleasantly surprised by the house!

But other than that, everything you need is present and nicely decorated. You are close to the water, and there are good walking opportunities in the area. We had a great week. The cottage is cozy and fully equipped. The beds are also fine. The homeowners are easily accessible for questions. Other areas mostly had signs stating that dogs had to be leashed. I am convinced that you only get frustrated, unfriendly dogs if they cannot release their energy by running, playing, and swimming. The Hundewiese at Hillbachsee is far too small for large energetic dogs. So it's a nice vacation home and beautiful surroundings, but in my opinion, not so great for dogs.

Big disappointment – Absolutely not recommended!

What a horrible experience! The reality of this holiday home does not match the wonderful reviews we read. This cottage was downright dirty and dilapidated. From the moment we entered, we felt misled and cheated.
It was obvious that the cleaning had not been carried out for years. There were thick layers of dust and cobwebs everywhere. The bathroom was terrible; the shower cubicle was covered in mold from top to bottom. Due to wear and tear, dangerous metal parts were sticking out, which made it easy to injure yourself. The toilet was also incredibly dated and so low that it literally posed a risk to your body to sit on it.
The cottage was full of fat, black horseflies, which felt particularly unhygienic. The bed had completely sagged – we ended up in a deep hole when we lay down. The couch was also covered with dirty, dusty rags, clearly to hide the severe wear and tear. The only thing this couch could hide was the illusion that it had once been comfortable.

The front door felt unsafe; the lock was literally half loose, making it look like it was being broken into regularly. The curtains were covered in dust and looked so dusty that we were afraid of the amount of dust particles we would inhale when touching them.

We wanted to vacuum the cottage ourselves to make it somewhat liveable, but even the vacuum cleaner gave off a horrible stench. The lighting throughout the cottage was poor, making it feel like we were in an old, neglected barn rather than a holiday home.

We ended up leaving the cottage before the week was up. This was definitely not the holiday we had hoped for. This cottage should have offered us a week of relaxation, but turned out to be a nightmare. We would absolutely not recommend this house to anyone. What a complete disappointment and waste of money!

We had such a nice time at Ferienhaus am Hennesee! The location is super quiet, and the house felt really cozy. I was impressed with how clean everything was when we arrived. The kids loved the bunk beds, and we enjoyed relaxing on the terrace overlooking the garden. The WiFi was a bit slow, but honestly, we were there to disconnect anyway. Also, being close to the lake was a great advantage for swimming and hiking. Definitely worth it!

A very nice little house. Lots of greenery, lots of privacy. You are in a kind of holiday park and can hear the neighbors when you are outside but do not see them. The house was tidy and clean and equipped with all conveniences. Multiple terraces so you can always sit somewhere comfortably. A good base for day trips in the area. Great shower and great bed. Beautiful view. There was a nice welcome package upon arrival, it is of course not necessary but very nice and you really feel welcome. We had a wonderful week.

The house is in a very nice location. You have a lot of privacy. The house is completely surrounded by beautiful greenery, creating a natural barrier for the dog, for example. Our dog is quite an "escape artist" but it went well.
We contacted one of the owners because we were a bit early. Were greeted very friendly. In this case it was no problem and we were able to enter earlier.
House was very neat and clean and there was a nice surprise ready.😃
The house is fully equipped and the bed we used was fine, we thought. Nice spacious bathroom.
If you like to watch TV and are not from Germany, it might be a good idea to bring a Chromecast here too. The satellite has many German channels. Couldn't find any Dutch ones, but the TV and WiFi are both perfectly suitable for the Chromecast.
We find the area very beautiful. We had a nice walk with the dog.
All in all a nice experience! Definitely recommended.

The house is quite dated. The sideboard and kitchen are messily furnished. What you need is there. The beds were made. A welcome pack was nice. 1 bedroom is sufficient. The view is beautiful.

Beautiful environment. The house is very nicely located. However, it is NOT suitable for 4 people. The loft bed is accessible via a very steep ladder. I tried, but was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it off again... mind you, we were 4 seniors. The dining area was also a bit cramped for 4 adults. Upon arrival, the waste bins appeared to be full. I just contacted them to ask when they could reach the road... lighting was mediocre, not suitable for reading. We were glad we only booked 1 week. But the environment made up for a lot!

A beautifully situated bungalow with all amenities. Tastefully decorated and enough space to store all your holiday necessities in a well-organized manner. There is also a lot of space around the house. A beautiful area for walking and cycling (electric bike).

My 87-year-old mother, my dog and I felt very comfortable in the cozy little house with lots of seating around the many plants. The dog was able to roam freely on the property and my mother happily lay down on the loungers after the walks around the Hennesee to rest in the sunshine. The landlords are very nice and accommodating. We definitely want to go there again. It was a wonderful break!

From the "main terrace" and also if you sit inside, you have a nice view. The two sunbeds are also very nice. When the weather is nice, it is great to have a barbecue. Not clearly visible in the photos, but on the main terrace there is also a canopy including a large dining table and 4 comfortable chairs, for an evening of cozy dining. I think there is an old photo from when the canopy was there not yet was.Ook there are two nice ligbeds.Vanuit the cottage is less than a 5-minute walk to the Hennesee, where it is great to swim in good weather.Ook you can walk very nicely nearby.It is also nice that there is a fixed parking space with the house.
