Would definitely rebook without doubt. The proximity to Winterberg is excellent for skiing and enjoying nature trails close by.

The cottage was not cleaned well: kitchen cabinets + stair railings were sticky, there was a bloodstain in the mattress cover. The bathroom was clean. Furthermore, the cottage creaked and squeaked quite a bit, which gave an unsafe feeling. The manager did not come by for the deposit, but did come on the morning of departure for the cleaning costs. Overall, we are completely dissatisfied with the service from Belvilla. You are hardly reachable and when you indicate that there is no response to your email from the administrator, you let us try again, this time with the owner. Is this your job? Furthermore: the operator, a Belgian with a foreign accent, is hardly understandable. When I pointed this out to him, he reacted annoyed that it was due to the phone line. When I reacted annoyed that he just talks too fast and too unclear and requested him to speak slower and he did, the problem was over. In short: I will not recommend Belvilla and I also do not want to book with them anymore!

The cottage is located in a kind of park with similar cottages, but without facilities. It is quite a climb from the lake to the cottage. The garden and terraces look beautifully maintained. You can sit there and enjoy the sun and the view. The interior is somewhat dated, but clean. The dining table wobbles and the stair railing is loose. The kitchen is small, but complete. The mattresses of the double bed have significant dips/are uneven, but are otherwise okay. The bathroom looks newer. Very neat and clean. The shower is a bit cramped. Meschede as a village is nothing special, but the surroundings are beautiful!

The house is indeed a bit older, and some wooden parts, like the bathroom door, the corner dining table, and the staircase railing on the right, should be looked at, but the stay was satisfactory for us. A friendly caretaker was also available for inquiries. Maybe we will come back here again.

Overall it was okay. Unfortunately, the "caretaker" didn't know we were coming and it took a while until we could get in. The house was not prepared and it was really super cold. It took until morning to warm up. In fact, we were all a bit sniffly then. The house itself is really cute from the outside. Not so much from the inside. Very dusty, super many cobwebs in every corner and on the ceiling. Apparently, cleaning is never done behind the beds. The cabinets feel like they are almost falling apart. The carpet in the living room is really quite shabby. We vacuumed it ten times a day and it is simply dirty through and through. The decor is outdated. But that's a matter of taste! The house is well equipped, though. Everything in terms of dishes, cutlery, and cups is available. Even a high chair, books, games, and art supplies for children. That was really nice. The area is also very beautiful. Goods on the lake with the ship and in the surrounding towns. Ate deliciously at the Chinese restaurant in Meschede. Overall, it was quite okay.

Some aspects of the house/inventory could be improved as everything has aged. Cleaning could have been a bit more thorough, especially in the kitchen. Reported defective and missing parts to the caretaker. A toaster and a window curtain in the bathroom would be desirable. The stairs should be secured and the parking lot should be marked, as the house is located on a curve!

We spent 2 weeks in this nice holiday home with our family of 3 children (11, 9, and 7 years old). It is a cozy house with everything you need. We had a great time hiking in the area, swimming, and Stand Up Paddling (SUP) in the lake. In bad weather, we went swimming in the indoor pool of the nearby campsite. The area is very quiet. Good contact with the friendly managers. The nearest supermarket is in Meschede, about a fifteen-minute drive away. On the campsite, there is a small shop for daily necessities. The lake has a swimming beach with a kiosk and is a few minutes' walk from the cottage. It is nice to bring swimming shoes because the beach has sharp stones. We had a very nice holiday.

The cottage is in a beautiful place with a beautiful view, but it is very dated inside, not a nice seat, very dark small kitchen where you have to stand on a step to reach the combi oven and a dining table that is shaky on the legs . The railing of the stairs is too shaky to be reliable, not recommended for older people because the entrance is 'upstairs' with the bedroom and bathroom and the living room and kitchen downstairs so that you still have to use the stairs regularly. It is also a pity that there is no supermarket nearby, but it is certainly a beautiful area for those seeking tranquility who want to walk and cycle!
