There are nice shops in the center which is also within walking distance. There are 3 supermarkets nearby. The Eifel is beautifully beautiful in autumn. Friendly welcome by host. We were able to enter the house earlier than expected, very nice. It was very clean but because it had been empty for a while it smelled a bit stale. We have countered this by opening the windows and by cooking nicely seasoned. The kitchen contains everything you will need, mis grab is not there. Good beds but we found the pillow too thin. Cozy living room. Lovely warm house. On New Year's Day the hostess surprised us with a bottle of champagne. Hillesheim is a nice village in a beautiful environment. And in this holiday home you are always good.

We have just spent a week, my girlfriend and I, and despite the very cold weather in early May 2010, this cottage was for us a great base for cycling trips in the area. Fortunately, after a cold cycle a well heated house with all the comforts to be found. The hostess and Mr. live next door, but left us alone and we had no need for them, because everything was there. Well located close to a fairly busy road, so if you sleep with an open window quite some street noise coming in - but nothing is 100% perfect - so a must for couples who love cycling or walking, seems to us!

Because of the heat 35 degrees we would not walk but have cycled all day on our electric bikes. Daun we found very steep but the trails are very good and very well marked. Nice area !!
