This bright, modern holiday home with all amenities is located in peaceful Friedrichshöhe, a district of Güntersberge. The smallest city of the Harz offers lots of attractions no matter what time of year and is located amid a forest- and water-rich mountain landscape. The variety of offers ranges from exhibitions, museums and caves to visits to historical squares and cities. This is the right place not only for hikers, cyclists and active holidaymakers, but also for guests looking for rest and relaxation. Your detached holiday home has a covered terrace with a fantastic view and a pellet stove that creates a cosy atmosphere year round. You can take a ride on the distinctive narrow-gauge railway or visit the 1100 metre-high Brocken mountain. In the winter there is a nice skiing area for families in Braunlage as well as single slopes and cross-country skiing trails in multiple villages. Popular destinations are Quedlinburg with its cathedral (25 km), Wernigerode and its castle (40 km), Gernrode (12 km), the Glasebach mine site (7 km), the Brocken (highest peak in Northern Germany; 45 km), Thale with the cliffs "Hexentanzplatz" (witches dancesfloor) and Roßtrappe, the Bode Valley (18 km), the Rübeländer stalactite caves (18 km) and the Kyffhäuser monument (39 km).
Worth noting: The parking spot for the house is approx. 150 metres from the house. There is the possibility of transporting luggage with a hand baggage cart.

The cottage was beautifully furnished and really comfortable. We didn't lack for anything.

Very well furnished. There is plenty of everything that is needed. A little oasis of well-being!

House was hard to find. We would never have arrived without the coordinates. The street that is mentioned in the booking does not appear on Google Maps and car navigation. The street is pretty clogged. After arrival received kindly. Excellent accommodation. Room for toilet could have been a bit bigger. The Harz is a beautiful area and there is much to do.

When we arrived at the central parking lot, we called the keyholder. The acquaintance with Mrs. went excellent. Since we live very close to the Dutch/German border, we can understand the spoken language very well and make ourselves well understood. The house was completely renovated a few years ago and modernly furnished according to current standards. The many sockets, for example, makes extension cords, distribution boxes, etc. completely unnecessary. The kitchen is fully equipped. The present crockery is sufficient. Unfortunately, the space between the two worktops is very narrow. During the renovation, the installation of the dishwasher was forgotten. At that time, the lid of the dishwasher could only be opened partially due to the narrow gap of 50 cm between the two worktops. As a solution, a piece was cut out of the opposite supporting wall. This is a bit ill-considered and clumsily finished. The first evening while packing the dishwasher, I grazed this support wall with my back long, resulting in a long bleeding scrape! The washroom also has a modern look and every centimeter is well used. Lots of storage options under the sink for all kinds of things that are needed in this room. The double bed sleeps perfectly. This room has a beautiful wardrobe with sliding doors. The other bedroom with single beds everything is a bit cramped. A narrow walkway remains where there is no possibility for your luggage. This luggage can then possibly be in the hall (landing). In summary, this house is perfect for 2 adults with 2 children, but less suitable for 4 adults. The terrace at the front of the house is a wonderful place to stay. At the end of the afternoon the sun shines through under the roof, so you are fully in the sun for a while. If this bothers you, it is easy to solve with some cloths. The other houses around us are often in the

The object is hidden and is not visible from the street; that can also be an advantage because there is calm. But it can be found with a navigation system. We called the manager about 1.5 hours before arrival and she was there on time and gave us the key. Since there are only private properties on site, you cannot drive to the house for loading and unloading, but the luggage must be transported to the accommodation or to the car by handcart. It is an approx. 150 meter long, sloping path towards the property, which is not necessarily recommended for people with walking difficulties or similar problems. like through a garden ...--- The area: mainly deciduous forest, good air and good excursions by car to Thuringia, e.g. to the Kyffhäuser.

So, where do I start, the holiday home looked super super nice in the pictures.. great from the outside & great from the inside, BUT... when we arrived we had to "drive" our things in the handcart to the house on the internet with 2 parking spaces advertised, you can't even get to the holiday home by car, that's really bad! Inside, at first glance, it looked great, BUT... there was mold on the pleated blinds in the bathroom, as well as mold in the hallway at the back and in the shower itself. No fixed heating, it was heated with electricity, very very much Cold feet & in some corners it was always wet!Parking possibilities: very bad!!!And the house is very, very hidden, but still a very quiet location!
