Our artistic, colorful, and unconventional holiday home, the PAVILHAO DA ARTE, with a separate bedroom and large double bed and mosquito net as well as air conditioning, also has a large outdoor bed with mosquito net in the garden area. The house is very well suited for couples who like individuality. Also well suited for 2-3 adults and for 2 adults with 1 child. And it is especially enticing with its wonderful, large outdoor bed with mosquito netting, in which entire families have already spent their summer nights marveling at the starry night sky.
The spacious living area has integrated art objects, a sofa landscape with desk and chair, and, if desired, two additional sleeping options under mosquito netting along with fans.

Location and surroundings of object

Quinta da Arte is located in the Sotavento, the south-east facing Algarve coast, a coastal landscape with miles of sandy beaches and intact bird and fish life. Here, fishing boats cross the waterways of the tamed Atlantic Ocean. The property itself is set in a vast natural landscape nestled among carob-olive-almond and orange tree plantations. Surrounded by a gently rolling mountain fringe, the sea glistens on the horizon some 8 km away in the distance. The pearl of the Algarve, the Roman-Arab Renaissance town of Tavira, located at the mouth of the 'Ria do Gilao' is only 10 km away.

Our property is only 9km away from the most beautiful sights or the clean sea with its wide, great beaches.
The kilometres of sandy beaches in the Eastern Algarve are well worth seeing, protected by the beautiful lagoons and mud flats with various game and water birds, where even flamingos are home to the nature reserve of the "Ria Formosa".
Visit the still existing, small fishing villages and their lively goings-on.
Lagoon landscapes which enchant and which the guest can overcome with small fishing boats, on foot or with cosy ferries to get to the sea. Nice: leisurely walk over nicely laid out paths to the sea.
Discoveries:
There is an old castle and lots of nature to explore in and around Castro Marim or more than 35 churches in the charming and particularly worth seeing 150 year old Renaissance town of Tavira, the pearl of the Algarve.
Faro is also worth seeing, with its old, beautiful city centre, a convent and a bone church of the Franciscans as well as a well-kept shopping street where it is nice to stroll and visit the cafes. The most Arab city by the sea, Olhao has not only its beautiful large market halls with fresh goods, but also old streets and even older small shops.
Cacela Velha, new city, old city and the Ria da Formosa in front of the door and extensive golf courses. St. Lucia, formerly a stronghold of the squid fishing, is now a popular destination to eat a variety of dishes cooked from it or to get to the sea by boat. And there would be Fuzeta: bars, restaurants, fishing boats ...... and much more that I would be happy to tell you about.

Other beautiful travel destinations .....: Spain is very close to us and can be reached very quickly. Across the border river, the Guardiana, a small ferry goes from Vila Real St. Antonio and takes you to Andalusia, where the beautiful world of starters, Spanish tapas, begins. The world of the Spaniards, with its many legends tell of horses and bullfights, the shimmering heat, the fights between the Portuguese and Spaniards long ago and the dawn of modern times has long since found its way into the white villages of the municipality. Visit
El Roccio, a pilgrimage site where there was once a brave churchman who saved many of the area's gypsies from the persecution of the fascists in his church. Visit the adjacent 'Donana' nature reserve, with rare birds and lynx, its large pine forests and continue to Seville, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. You drive only 1 hour 50 m by car from our Quinta to Seville. Welcome !!

Stay at Quinta da Arte: a place of discovery and delight in a natural and artistic setting

It is with great pleasure that I write this comment regarding the Quinta da Arte.
This is the 5th stay in a few years, each time in a different accommodation.
The site is large, located in the heart of nature and enhanced by works of art. It is well situated in the region, close to Tavira, the beaches, and amenities.
The hosts are welcoming, available, and discreet.
The accommodations are colorful, comfortable, and well decorated. Everyone has their own private outdoor space equipped with terraces and plantings.
A very quiet communal pool is an additional asset.
In the region, cultural discoveries and seaside stays are of high quality.
In particular, the city of Tavira and the surrounding villages offer beautiful discoveries.
The beaches are located in a unique protected site: long stretches of fine sand, peninsulas, and islands easily accessible by short boat trips. With each stay, we experience new discoveries at Quinta da Arte and its charming setting.

Pig beautiful place

Whoever wants to feel and experience this wonderful country in a beautiful place will surely feel well taken care of here. The accommodations are artistic and individual, the hosts warm and loving, the facility is inviting and equipped with everything. At the same time, you feel like you are right in the middle of nature: pure glamping. We were there as a family of four (children 6 and 12) and we all got our full 'money's worth.'

An extraordinary stay - we love it!

We had the great luck to spend our perfect summer vacation at Quinta da Arte. We spent 1 week each in "Casa das Rochas" and "Pavilhao da Arte." The total of 4 houses on the generously laid-out property all impress with their individuality and cannot be compared with one another. The houses are optimally equipped with everything needed and ensure a maximum level of privacy. Anyone who, like us, seeks the special and feels comfortable in a creative environment will love it at Quinta da Arte. This is primarily due to Heidi's uncomplicated, warm, and hospitable demeanor. The contact before, during, and after the stay left nothing to be desired: she always offered us good tips in a subtle manner.

We wholeheartedly recommend the stay! Our hearts are still so full, we don't know how to convey our positive experiences. Unfortunately, the characters in the review are limited; you will soon find our more detailed review on Google.

A magical holiday experience

My family (myself, husband and 3yr old) stayed at the Quinta da Arte and everything exceeded our expectations. Our holiday was the most relaxed we have ever been and the surroundings are so inspiring - a truly magical experience. We loved our house and the outdoor spaces were perfect for having family meals and time together. The pool was great and provided so much fun for us all, as a family. The accommodation is in the most amazing location and we loved the peace and quiet - we were lucky to shooting stars at night! It is also a short drive to some great towns/beaches. Heidi is a wonderful host, we felt at home the moment we arrived and had everything needed. Heidi spent time giving us great recommendations and even booked us massages. We will definitely return to this unique and special place.

A gem off the beaten path of mass tourism.

A holiday accommodation full of creativity and exceptional design. A real gem among the thousands of holiday options. The outdoor kitchen, simply brilliant. But the outdoor bed was a real highlight. Before falling asleep, you could listen to the sounds of frogs, crickets, and birds. As soon as you opened your eyes early in the morning, the trees could be admired in the warm light of the rising sun through the gossamer net. Then followed the almost daily walk through the huge estate with its many hidden surprises. Heidi was very caring and provided us with a lot of background information, from the artistic beginnings over 30 years ago to the present day with its challenges. Due to the very few light sources in this region, you can also wonderfully observe the starry sky at night. We were very much on the road with our rental car. However, it is recommended to book a longer stay in order not to rush through the vacation for fear of missing a sight in the Algarve, but to have more time on site and enjoy the tranquility of the property.

Had a great time

The photos correspond to the real appearance. There is a lot of peace, privacy, and space. But there are many nice restaurants and beautiful villages nearby.

Personal paradise

A wonderfully artistically designed holiday apartment with plenty of space in the middle of nature. The equipment is simple, yet we lacked nothing. We spent relaxing hours by the pool every day, surrounded only by birdsong and the rustling of the wind. A wonderful place to let your everyday worries rest and enjoy the present moment!
We also greatly appreciated the warmth of the landlady. Heidi is very concerned about the well-being of her guests and provided us with many insider tips for activities, beaches, places, and restaurants.
So we put together a varied program with city tours, markets, beaches, hikes, and restaurant visits.
If you are looking for relaxation, want to enjoy the simple life, and experience a new type of vacation, this is the place for you. For us, it's a little paradise!

We had a wonderful time. In our accommodation with many artistic aspects that allowed us to discover new things again and again, we felt very comfortable. The facilities left nothing to be desired for us - we lacked for nothing. The pool is wonderful for simply relaxing or refreshing oneself.

We found the warmth of the owners to be quite extraordinary. The tips from Heidi were great and very valuable. Whether for special places to eat, a boat trip, beaches, or shopping - Heidi always had the right recommendation. The high commitment and warmth with which Heidi takes care of the guests are indeed exceptional.

For us, it was a holiday of a different kind and pure relaxation. We said we would come back and have already booked - Thank you for everything, dear Heidi!

Out of the ordinary

We were looking for a place different from the typical houses offered to enjoy not only the wonderful Portugal but also our stay at the house, and the Art Pavilion more than met our expectations. A large estate with views, privacy in the house and its surroundings, a nice pool, and a hostess attentive to serving and helping her guests. Thank you very much for everything. Keep in mind that it is secluded, so a car is needed, and the entrance to the estate is like a forest track.

Estás inmerso directamente en la casa y te has sentido muy cómodo y desde aquí indagaste por el entorno.
Cuando nos conocimos te sentiste bien, te sentiste muy a gusto con nosotros y nuestro entorno y sobre todo elogiaste la buena comida.

Nuestro viaje no conduce a través de un bosque, eso sería bueno, sino a través de un camino asfaltado a través de arbustos y arbustos hasta la rodilla.

Inspiring, unique place with great hostess

Quinta da Arte is absolutely fabulous, inspiring and unique. We especially appreciated the generous space, the tranquillity and being surrounded by nature and art. And of course our wonderful host Heide. She is a very caring host and we immediately felt at home. Also thanks to Max - Heidi's dog, who visited us every day, sometimes alone, sometimes with his siblings, on the way to bathe in the pond.

Each accommodation is unique and special - we stayed at Pavilhao da Arte, which was perfect for us (three adults + child). We really enjoyed being outside all day. Even if it was quite hot in between, the many trees provided the necessary shade. And an inviting outdoor shower helped to cool down even more.
One of the highlights of the accommodation for us was the huge outdoor bed - at night you can hear the wind sweeping through the leaves and frogs croaking by the pond.
There is also the communal pool, which we used often, not only for swimming but also for meeting the other guests. We liked the spontaneous encounters, including a shared bottle of wine, with Heide and the other guests.

The place is perfect to come to rest and as a starting point to explore the surroundings, for short as well as longer excursions.
We all felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

Peace and relaxation in the midst of nature

We have already spent our vacation there 4 times and especially enjoy the tranquility, the proximity to nature, and the company of Heidi and Johannes, who take great care of their guests. For me, it's like coming "home" every time. It is a very special place that Heidi and Johannes have created. Thank you for that! Quinta da Arte comes highly recommended... especially for nature lovers, individualists, families with children, and those seeking to slow down away from the busy everyday life.

liebe Katja,
also wer einen Ort 4 Mal aufsucht scheint sich fast ein wenig verliebet zu haben.
Und das scheint mir bei Euch der Fall zu sein-verliebt in Portugal und verliebt in ein etwas anderes Wohngefuehl das Ihr jedes Mal erfahrt wenn Ihr in unser Kunsthaus eintretet, in dem Ihr Euch frei,unkompliziert und in Mitten der Natur bewegen koennt.
Als Staedter geniesst Ihr Eure Tage bei uns so sehr das es Euch schwer faellt wieder Heim zu fliegen.
Entschleunigen und zur Ruhe kommen ja das kann man wohl bei uns.
Ihr unternehmt aber auch gerne etwas liebt die Auswahl an Straenden die es zu besuchen geht aber liebt es auch am Abend zu faulenzen oder etwas zu spielen.
Und so manch lustige Boule Runde haben wir auch zusammen gespielt.
Also dann kommt bald wieder...
ach ja Ihr seid ja bald wieder da ,denn Ihr moegt auch den Herbst bei uns und zieht dann in unser CASA DO TEATRO.

Portuguese paradise

We have been to Quint da Arte several times. It is a dreamlike property with incredibly warm owners. If you really want to switch off, this is the place to be. And you can still be in lively Tavira or on the dream beaches in 15 minutes. The cottages are artistic and very unique, with a lot of charm.

Ein kleines Paradies

I have never seen and lived in a holiday accommodation before that is so exceptionally visually appealing and individually designed. A feast for the senses! You can see the artist's touch in various details. You can be very private, both in the spacious outdoor areas and indoors, but you also have the opportunity to meet other people at the pool. Since only four standalone houses are rented out in total, you don't bump into each other. We have now been to Quinta for the third time, always warmly welcomed and looked after by the landlord couple. If you like beach holidays, there are beaches about a 15-minute drive away, but we have mostly enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of the property, made excursions to the hinterland and coastal towns (e.g. boat tour in the lagoons), bought super fresh fish at the fish market, and cooked or grilled it well. The kitchen equipment is very good, but occasionally a door may stick, ants visit the outdoor kitchen, etc. We could always live with that very well. It remains a place of yearning for us, we will definitely come back.

Und das kann ich auch spueren wenn Du uns Mal wieder besuchen kommst immer mit dem festen Ziel Dich bei uns zu entspannen,Dein Buch endlich zu Ende zu lesen die Abende mit Spielen draussen am Tisch zu bestreiten und natuerlich auch um unser so schoenes Umland zu besuchen.Nur zu gerne machst Du Ausfluege z.B. nach Santa Lucia um dort an der Promenade spazieren zu gehen und das ein oder andere Mal dort in einem der tollen Restaurants ein zu kehren.
Oder Ihr nehmt gleich die kleine Faehre, schippert damit ein paar Minuten von der Laguna aus ans Meer um baden zu gehen oder am Strand zu wandern und viel Muscheln mt nach Hause zu bringen.
Nun wir sind ja schon so etwas wie Dein /Euer zweites zu Hause, nicht wahr?
In diesem Sinne freuen wir uns auf ein baldiges Wiedersehen macht es gut!
P.S den kleinen Ameisen erteile ich in jedem Jahr Hausverbot ich weiss auch nicht warum die sich da nicht dran halten.....?Und zum Gift spritzen bin ich dann doch nicht so der Mensch.

Simply great!

We have already been guests at the Pavilhao da Arte in 2009, 2013, and 2017, and it is always pure relaxation. You are surrounded by nature, completely on your own, and can relax wonderfully. The holiday apartment is very spacious with special artistic elements, and you feel completely comfortable. Particularly worth mentioning is the outdoor bed and the well-equipped kitchen in a separate building with an adjacent covered grill and dining area. Heidi provides valuable tips for excursions, restaurant recommendations, etc. that make the stay even more enjoyable. Culinary delights can be discovered in the surrounding area, and the markets are great for shopping and then cooking in peace. The holiday apartment is also highly recommended for families with small children, as there are beautiful beaches nearby and the spacious grounds are sure to keep them entertained, especially with a pool available. We hope that we can travel to Portugal again soon and send many greetings there.

Pure relaxation in a dreamlike environment.

We as a family spent 3 weeks at this enchanting place. The absolute highlight is the huge outdoor bed. The property is in an absolutely quiet location yet close to many shopping options, activities, and short drives to the sea. At the pool of the small complex, you are often alone and can relax wonderfully. Even the children had a great time as they could often have the pool to themselves. The owners take excellent and warm care, they give great insider tips for the area.

Highly recommended for nature lovers and travelers looking for something special.

I have been living in this beautiful place in the eastern Algarve for over 30 years now, which my husband, a versatile artist, has created with a lot of passion and creativity The almond blossom in spring, the beautiful sea on the doorstep in summer, hiking in autumn. Shopping takes place in the lively, diverse nearby markets, for example in Tavira and Olhao, and in autumn I enjoy the peace and quiet that returns to the Algarve, the soft light that settles over the lagoon and everything seems to stand still for a moment. And not forgetting the friendly, unobtrusive and very helpful Portuguese people. It is fortunate that I have such friendly guests and friends who come to visit us at our Quinta da Arte to enjoy the nature, the peace, the creativity and the freedom.
