In this beautiful house 't Wambuis you have an unobstructed view of the landscape and the dunes. The accommodation is located on the edge of the village, near the dunes and less than 10 minutes by bike from the beach (3.1 km). An ideal base to enjoy Texel to the fullest.
A holiday home with history!
This beautiful house is a listed building. A beautiful house for six people, but can you imagine that this house was once occupied by two large families? Until the beginning of the last century, 't Wambuis was used as a so-called "poor room" by the Reformed church opposite. With two families life was cramped and besides, the Hoornder fire engine was also parked there at that time. The exterior of the house is still completely intact and really a visual treat. The interior of the house has been completely restored and has a new interior that meets today's requirements.
Cosy interior
The house is bright and warm with a cozy atmosphere. Very different from how the "poor rooms" must have felt in the past. The open kitchen is fully equipped. The living room has a wood stove and the bedrooms are comfortable. Both bathrooms with toilet and rain shower are fully equipped. One of them even has a sun shower. Great stay in this holiday home where peace and comfort in combination with the panoramic view are the basis for your holiday.

't Wambuis stands for peace, space and nature in a unique location. You are close to De Hors (a beautiful young dune area) with many lakes and De Razende Bol, an uninhabited island that is constantly on the move and a real breeding ground for seals. From the house you have a view of the fields and the most photographed church on Texel, while the supermarket and various restaurants are within walking distance. You can enjoy the village character of Den Hoorn, known for its cultural events such as Broadway Den Hoorn, Klifhanger, Jazz on the Waves and Long June Month. 't Wambuis is a 10-minute drive from the ferry port. The charming villages of De Koog and Den Burg are also a 10-minute drive away.
