Description

In a beautiful hillside location, on a high plateau near Triopetra, with a wide view of the Libyan Sea, lies the vacation home MARCO, about 5m to the side of the double house MARIA and VANGELIS. As far as the eye can see, the view goes freely over hills and valleys to olive groves and the Mediterranean Macchia in front of the south coast and the sea.

The stone house MARCO stands on its own with its own secluded front garden and is furnished in a modern, simple and original way. All these are the best conditions for an untroubled beach vacation, close to the sea and nature. A small kitchen garden, colorful flowers and some lawn in front of the cottage and terrace complete the picture of the house, newly built only in July 2018.

Ground level house access with covered terrace in front of it and wonderful sea view. The spacious living room with adjoining kitchenette and direct exit to the terrace and front garden are adjoined by the bedrooms and bathroom.

What awaits you in this corner of the south coast of Crete is tranquility, seclusion, Mediterranean rural idyll, a charming coastal landscape, great sandy beaches and a very clean sea. To the next village Akoumia it is about 10km, to Spili, where you will find a rich shopping offer, it is about 20km. There are some taverns directly at the big Triopetra beach, about 2,5km away from your vacation domicile.

Absolut tolle Unterkunft!

Offerti pizzette calde, fichi freschi, olive etc.

We stayed at Vangelis and Maria house during August 2020. This was one of the best hosting experiences of my life. The house is on a hill and has an amazing view at the sea and the mountains. The patio is a beautiful and accommodating relax spot. The house is fully equipped and we really loved the nice and comfy beds. On top of all, and most important, was the treatment of Vangelis who would always come with treats and would try to look after us. Thank you Vangeli! PS: Great internet speeds as well.

Best host ever. He brought as figs, jam, raki, fresh bread and pies for breakfast. The house was really clean and much more beautiful than what the pictures show. Highly recommended.

Ansonsten gab es nichts, was fehlte.

What did we like? Above all, the hospitality of the landlord. Right upon arrival, Vangelis surprised us with self-made spinach pies, fresh olives from his own cultivation, and a glass of delicious orange marmalade. It wasn't the last time. The still-warm spinach-filled pies were almost daily on the terrace in the mornings, and on the last day, we also had rice-filled vine leaves with them. Around the holiday home, we were allowed to help ourselves from the abundant herb selection that Vangelis had planted. Freshly harvested sage, rosemary, thyme, parsley, spring onions, and peppermint turned our salads and dishes into a flavorful experience like we are not used to at home. From the living room and the terrace, the view falls on the nearby, expansive bay of Triopetra and the surrounding mountains, as seen in the photo, only much more impressive. You can embark on two hikes directly from the holiday home. The first one leads down to the beach of Triopetra along a barely traveled road, which you can reach after 20 minutes. Then a path, easily found (stone cairns), leads over the vast slope and cliffs to the fine sandy beach of Agios Pavlos. This magnificent bay can also be reached by car, but you will miss out on the fantastic views from the cliffs down to the sea, the wild cliffs, and the bay of Agios Pavlos. The second hike leads to the mountain chapel, which sits on the highest point of Triopetra (the entire region is named after this). Triopetra (the whole coastal region is named like this) is above all a place of peace and relaxation. In the vicinity up to the beautiful bay of Agios Pavlos (just a few kilometers away) there are about half a dozen taverns, all highly recommended. Those seeking the evening hustle and bustle, a large selection, and plenty of variety are in the wrong place here. After Plakias, Ageos Galini or Matala, you drive by car for about an hour each. There is no bus connection to or from Triopetra. One more tip for getting there: it is best to use the departure from Akoumia (a very small mountain village with narrow streets, a large square in front of the impressive church) to Triopetra. On the first arrival, it is better not to use the route via Agios Pavlos, as it saves many curves and also a lot of time, although the route from Akoumia to Triopetra also becomes a winding road.

Thank you for the wonderful time! We were spoiled with treats such as fruits, bread, and local dishes, etc. Everything we needed was there and more. The accommodation was great, very clean, and beautifully located. We would love to come back!

This was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Simple but with everything we needed, with a stunning view down over Triopetra beach. The instructions we were given made it easy to find, and when we arrived there were warm pastries, olives and fig jam waiting for us. The host, Vangelis, visited with more baking and treats for us in the morning and was incredibly kind, generous and helpful, gave us the full benefit of his local knowledge and his garden! We highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to stay near Tripetra (which should be everyone, as it is a stunning beach.)

The location and the view from the house are simply phenomenal. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed the time (almost 3 weeks) very much. The landlord regularly provided us with typical Greek dishes and jam. The bedrooms are super nice and the bathroom with the stone washbasin is really something special. We can only recommend the accommodation!!!!

Nice little holiday cottage with basic equipment in a fantastic location with a view of the sea.
The landlord stops by every day and often brings eggs, bread, olives, and Greek delicacies cooked by his wife. We were allowed to harvest tomatoes, cucumbers, spring onions, and lemon juice from the garden. The landlords are incredibly hospitable. You immediately feel comfortable. The fact that the TV mentioned was not there was no problem for us (despite the European Championship).

The apartment is perfectly located just few minutes by car to beautiful Triopetra beach. It's quite spacious and it has nice garden with amazing view. The equipment is not the newest, but it was ok. We stayed there with two small kids and it was good for us and I recommend this place to other families.
