The little house is located in a very quiet area and has a great sea view as well as a super location to admire the stars at night. As mentioned in other reviews, the host is very friendly and brings regional delicacies almost daily. Also, as has been mentioned several times, the little house is very simply furnished. That is totally fine for us. Nevertheless, I find that the accommodation could use some love - replace the cracked plates, a bedside lamp in the second bedroom, and urgently new mattresses.

Whoever seeks true Greece and Greek hospitality will find all of this in Triopetra at Vangelis' house. We spent our vacation in Triopetra for the seventh time in September. We were guests at Vangelis' house for the first time. The detached duplex is furnished in a typical Greek style. Those looking for luxury or "German" living will not be satisfied here. The house side of Vangelis features a magnificent terrace, fully usable even during the annual Meltemi winds. During our 18-day stay, the other side of the duplex was also occupied by vacationers. Nevertheless, one always had the feeling of being alone. The Greek hospitality we know is lived by Vangelis and his family in a way that almost becomes embarrassing for the guest. Every morning, Vangelis sets the table on the terrace with freshly baked goods, fruits and vegetables from the garden, olives, and jams, and often with freshly cooked Greek food. This is done with absolute unobtrusiveness and regrettably also without expecting even a symbolic contribution for it. Despite the lack of communication, our Greek is based on individual phrases and Vangelis speaks no German and no English, we tried to express our gratitude with gestures and "drawn" thank you notes. We felt like we were in paradise. Our thanks cannot be put into words. That relaxation is guaranteed under these circumstances need not be mentioned.

Simple, uncomplicated accommodation in beautiful countryside. Downhill to the sea with few people and unspoiled coast. We met and appreciated the landlord in his village (Akoumia), fresh eggs, olive oil, or Raki every morning. Barbecue with the whole family in the garden... unforgettable! The landlord's brother runs the cafe in the nearby village where we felt well taken care of!

The fascinating location, the great beach, Antonio's tavern - that's one thing. What became crucial for me during my stay at House Vangelis was something else: the hospitality of Vangelis, the landlord. It made me feel immediately at home in this place. The friendly, unobtrusive manner, occasional surprise gifts in the form of jam, eggs, or bread were signs of great openness and kindness. At night, the view from the garden into the starry sky, during the day the view of the Libyan Sea. I was able to take a 4-week break at the Vangelis House. The friendly and hospitable nature of the landlord Vangelis deeply impressed me. He regularly took care of things and always had small gifts for consumption. A rental car is essential, the "seclusion" of Triopetra is a big plus for all those looking for peace and an alternative to crowded beach resorts. A newly asphalted road leads from Akoumia to Triopetra in about 15 minutes. 15 minutes to the house and from there it's only 3 km, so a few minutes to the great sandy/gravel beach. The view from the terrace and the garden, where you can always help yourself to fresh herbs, is beautiful. Sun loungers and umbrellas are provided for free at the beach tavern of Antonio, a friend of the landlord. All in all, the most beautiful and relaxing holiday of my life so far. I will definitely "relapse" soon. Also, jassu's professional and fast help with an issue on-site contributed to the success of the vacation. Once again: Thank you very much to Vangelis, a great person with a big heart. I am grateful to have met him.

We really enjoyed it, especially the magnificent starry sky that you can see in the garden in the evenings. The house is located in a quiet area, the nearest bakery is a 20-minute drive through the mountains. But there is a well-functioning freezer. Additionally, Vangelis (the landlord) occasionally surprised us with fresh bread and cake. A really nice gesture. It was unusual for us Berliners that the house was not lockable. The lock is just a dummy. But nothing happened. The beach taverns are good and affordable. We had a wonderful time there and highly recommend the house.

The vacation apartment was quite difficult to find in the dark, but the view we could enjoy the next day made up for it. The location to the beach is excellent. If you are looking for a very quiet, secluded accommodation, this is the right place. At first glance, everything was OK, but upon closer inspection, it was evident that the apartment had not been thoroughly cleaned. The landlord on-site is very accommodating, but unfortunately, he doesn't understand a word of English/German. Conclusion: Can recommend the apartment.

We were warmly welcomed by Vangelis and Despina and felt very comfortable in the little house. They spoiled us with Cretan delicacies like jam, bread, olives, fruit, vegetables, and delicious Briam. We were also very enamored with the little house cat Marko, who visited us regularly. We have rarely experienced such warm hospitality as seasoned travelers. That was truly great. A rental car is recommended as there are no shopping facilities within walking distance. Back at Triopetra! Once again this year, we were not disappointed. Triopetra, the House of Vangelis, and Greek hospitality remain fantastic. Prior to our trip this year, we visited the "House Vangelis" website at Jassu once again to check for any updates. While doing so, we came across a review that did not match our own experiences from the previous year and those of other guests. With a few mixed feelings, we traveled to Triopetra. Upon arrival, we could see that everything is in order. We would like to take this opportunity to help guests in providing an objective assessment, for whom Mr. Pius from Engelskirchen's review of the Vangelis house seems to be in poor condition. First and foremost, we would like to point out that all the photos on this page accurately depict the interior of the house. In this regard, it is easy to assess in advance whether one wants this simple furnishing style in their holiday accommodation. Mr. Pius may have overlooked that the kitchen is not equipped with an induction hob. No, as can be seen in the photos, there is a 4-plate electric stove with an oven and grill in a clean and orderly condition. Yes, Mr. Pius is correct, a 12-piece coffee and dining set are not included in the equipment. But there is sufficient tableware for the specified number of people in good condition, as well as all the necessary other kitchen utensils needed in a vacation accommodation. The "firmness" of a mattress, of course, is determined by the user's feeling. The ones in the house are neither worn out nor damaged, but in a very good condition. As habitual "soft sleepers," we gladly share a little trick for softer sleeping comfort in a holiday accommodation. In the house, there are additional duvets available that can be placed under the bed sheet. We would like to leave it at that and hope to have provided an objective assessment to the guest seeking accommodation. If one has different expectations for their holiday accommodation, they must also book in a correspondingly higher price range. The value for money is far exceeded by the outstanding hospitality shown to all guests by Vangelis and his family. Mr. Vangelis takes excellent care of his guests. He came by daily and brought us treats, such as bread, spinach pies, stuffed peppers... The beach is only a few minutes drive away. The road passing by the house has little traffic, mainly used by beach visitors. A minimarket and tavern are also just a few minutes drive away. For larger shopping trips, Spili is very suitable. The house is well maintained and clean. The facilities are good.

Experience Greek hospitality, dreamy views from the house, and nice cat company - a beautiful holiday! The garden was beautifully landscaped, despite being a semi-detached house, you had privacy. Unfortunately, we did not have a shady spot on the property in the afternoon, which could be remedied with a parasol. The garden furniture was old, there was only one worn chair cushion - which, of course, was claimed by the cat mama with her two kittens. A table for eating at normal height would be appropriate to avoid eating in a stooped position. The house itself was only superficially cleaned, there was something that used to be a broom in a former life and a dustpan, but the landlord at least provided us with a mop bucket. Communication was very difficult due to a lack of language skills, as he could only speak very little English. There were only 3 clothes hangers, and since the closets had no shelves, we had to live out of our suitcases. Hooks for towels etc. were missing. We each had 2 towels, and after 9 days, the first laundry change was done, and we received an additional small towel. There were only 2 tiny dish towels, and since there was a washing machine in the house, it was manageable, but then detergent and cleaning supplies should have been provided as well. At night, in the morning, at noon, and in the evening, it was quiet, but in the late morning and afternoon, traffic rolled to and from the beach. Actually, not that much, but each car caused long-lasting and disturbing noise due to the winding course of the road. We adjusted to this and were not on the property at those times.

absolutely great location...we did a workation...it was very quiet, a great restaurant is within walking distance and the Wi-Fi is also suitable for video conferences...top the equipment is simple, but everything important was there. Mosquito nets, shutters, rain and sun-proof covered terrace...great shower (all tight) is often a problem in Greek vacation rentals. The landlords were super helpful... have always responded immediately (for example, bringing ironing or towels) and occasionally provided us with treats from the kitchen...absolutely fantastic! ! ! !

Everything went very smoothly, despite our late arrival we entered the house and found on the table some delicious homemade treats and a container of olives. The location is very well chosen and peaceful, with a great view from above of the sea. Our landlord came by occasionally with Cretan specialties and asked if everything was alright. In addition, there were tomatoes, onions, etc. in the garden that we were allowed to take. The cottage is simply furnished, everything you need is there. We immediately felt at home in this place and had a difficult farewell after the 14 days. We are already looking forward to the next vacation in "our" cottage. The fantastic Triopetra Beach can be reached by car in five minutes, the other neighboring bays are also worth a visit, not crowded, and you can find good and affordable taverns almost everywhere.

A beautifully situated holiday home on the southern coast of Crete. The view is phenomenal. The furnishings are simple but clean. Everything is available to cater for oneself. However, in our case, this was rarely necessary because Vangelis, the warm-hearted landlord, spoiled us every day with fresh fruit, vegetables, and small dishes. Communication was easily possible via his translation app. The two nearest beaches are about 10-15 minutes away by car. 3km away, within a radius of 5km, there are a whopping seven very good taverns. In the village of Akoumia, just under 10km away, there is a mini-market and a bakery, the nearest supermarket is in Spili, about 20km away. I highly recommend the accommodation. If you want to experience an authentic and relatively quiet piece of Crete, Vangelis is the right place.

Functional furnishings, powerful shower spray, and the bathroom never flooded thanks to the strip. The house and garden are very well maintained, the landlord took care of us incredibly nicely, even bringing homemade food, fresh fruit, and vegetables. Despite having occasional direct neighbors, you feel like you are completely on your own and undisturbed. The view of the sea is wonderful, and the path to the beach is also accessible on foot. It is the perfect place to relax.

Stay in May 2013; the house met our needs very well, enough space, possibility to cook, sheltered terrace, sunny lawn, many beautiful geraniums around the house, peace, views into the distance. Very friendly landlord who personally took care of things. C.L. and H.F. thank for the edible gifts such as salad, olive oil or bread. The great thing was the herbs at the house, which could be harvested every day, as well as the offer of assistance if we were to get lost near the goats while hiking nearby.

We spent 2 weeks at Vangelis in September and felt very comfortable there. The apartment is furnished in Greek style and has everything you need. What we liked most were two things: the large terrace where you can sit protected even in strong winds and enjoy the view of the sea and the evening sun. And of course our landlord Vangelis: he took wonderful care of us, supplied us with delicacies and was also on the ball and easily accessible when it came to helping the local electrician get things back on track after a power outage - within a very short time a man was on the mast and made sure everything was working again. For that and for his warm hospitality, thumbs up!
