Very nice landlords. Not far from the beach. There are several taverns nearby. We felt very comfortable.

Ideal location for remote staying, but not totally remote. No big hotels around, but just 3 minutes by car to Triopetra beach. The nearest shop is up to half an hour by car, but 4 nice tavernas nearby, closest just 600 m away, 3 in Triopetra beach. Far away from large cities, but just in hour driving beautiful small villages: Plakias, Matala, Agia Galini, also Preveli beach and Minoan Palace of Phaistos. Lot of roads and paths for walking, hiking, jogging. Very cozy yard with beautiful seaview. All comments about host and his hospitality are right. And comparatively – quite cheap. This is why instead one house we and our friends decided rent not one, but both joined houses (Vangelis and Maria). The cheapness of course has its own side – the house is a little bit shabby, but for this You always can choose more expensive and more luxury house. But as we spent practically all time in beaches, traveling, or in the yard, it was not a big deal for us.

Those seeking peace and closeness to nature will feel right at home here. The holiday cottage with a covered terrace and a small, garden surrounded by greenery offers everything you need for relaxation. Everything necessary is provided and very clean. We didn't miss the television, but we found the excellent functioning WiFi to be pleasant. The host family is very friendly and willingly shared their Cretan cuisine with us, using products from their own garden. With the car, we were able to explore many worthwhile destinations in Crete. Two taverns near the beach are recommended. The nearest shopping opportunities can be found easily on the way to excursions in Spili or Agia Galini. For holidays in Cretan originality and without any tourist hustle and bustle, the holiday home comes highly recommended.

We spent a week on Crete on vacation. During that time, we stayed at the holiday home MARIA. It is a really beautiful small holiday cottage with a very nice little garden and a direct view of the sea. The terrace offers a very cozy, wind-protected seating area. The house's equipment really provides everything you need. There is no lack of anything. The incredibly friendly landlord Vangelis greeted us with homemade fig jam, bread, and spinach-filled pastries. Every morning, he would place these pastries on our terrace table, and every other day, he would also leave bread and figs. Vangelis came by almost daily to check on our well-being. We can wholeheartedly recommend staying at the holiday home MARIA.

Great location and fantastic beaches! Some planning needed for shopping, as the nearest supermarket is a bit of a distance away. The furnishings are functional but somewhat spartan. Adjacent buildings are very close (including holiday homes), and we had the "misfortune" that our neighbors had a party in their garden every evening well past midnight, which was audible even with the windows closed.

It was our third stay at Haus Maria and again wonderful. We appreciate the location of Haus Maria, slightly elevated in the mountains, the beautiful view, the quaint style of the house and the furnishings, the warm owner or manager who allows us to experience Greek hospitality firsthand, and an excellent value for money. For the sake of fairness, it should be noted that the holiday home will not be cleaned during the stay, but we are prepared for this. We will get materials (broom, etc.) on site during the first shopping trip in Spili or Timbaki and take care of it ourselves.

We had a slight issue with the washing machine and electricity (can happen in Crete), and Vangelis took care of it right away. So, our full recommendation.

The people on site are very nice and very helpful and often surprised us with homemade treats. In the morning, there was bread and often fresh eggs, the local family is really very nice! The water outage this week was quite exhausting for Mr. Vaggeles, even though he couldn't do anything about it. No problem for us!

We spent two wonderfully relaxing weeks at "Haus Maria." The location near the beach was ideal for us, and the view of the sea from the house was stunningly beautiful. The house is very simply furnished, and with a little more equipment, it could be made more comfortable (replacement of old pans, seat cushions for garden furniture, toaster, corkscrew, etc.). The beautiful garden could also be a bit better maintained... But the owner Vangelis and his wife Despina make up for these small deficiencies with their warm hospitality! Almost every day they pampered us with Greek delights... olives, figs, pears, fresh bread, eggs, jam, spinach pies, stuffed peppers, stew, and cake! It was simply delicious! Thank you very much for that, and we would love to come back! ! !

Mr. Vangelis takes great care of his guests. He came by daily and brought us goodies, such as bread, spinach pies, stuffed peppers... The beach is only a few minutes away by car. The road passing by the house has little traffic, mainly used by beach visitors. A minimarket and a tavern are also just a few minutes away by car. For larger shopping needs, Spili is very suitable. The house is well-maintained and clean. The equipment is good.

Like last year, we rented a place again from Vangelis and Despina - not at Erini, but at the House Maria - smaller, but with a stunning view at sunrise - the garden is surrounded by beautiful tall bushes, so no one can look in - very idyllic -, also the supply of some basic groceries such as bread has pleased us again, as Triopetra is quite far from the nearest bakery, thank you! We would wish that there might be a higher dining table in the house - could also be a folding table - and that the mold smell under the sink would be gone - it's not so important to us, still it would be nice... It would be nice if there was a stand for the parasol, because on the bone-hard floors in Crete, it is needed. We will definitely come back, because we can hardly imagine a more beautiful corner in Crete.

Simple, uncomplicated accommodation in a beautiful landscape. Down the mountain to the sea with few people and unspoiled coast. We got to know and appreciate the landlord in his village (Akoumia), fresh eggs, olive oil, or Raki every morning. Shared grilling with the entire family in the garden... unforgettable! The landlord's brother runs the cafe in the nearby village where we felt well taken care of!

We felt very comfortable. The landlord with his family was very friendly and not only often brought us small delicacies from his garden. Power outages or brief water cuts happen "in the south" from time to time. The house is very nice, the garden small but with a covered terrace facing south with a beautiful sea view. Very quiet location, which one must like, but is exactly what we are looking for. The road below the house never bothered us; not much traffic. The nearest supermarket is in Spili, about 30 minutes by car, so no problem; a car is needed anyway. The only thing that annoyed us was the broken air conditioning, as we intentionally chose a house with air conditioning. For reasons I do not want to elaborate on here, a repair did not work out. So please inquire separately if this detail is important. Otherwise really beautiful, something for those seeking solitude, but with the possibility to eat well in one of the surrounding taverns, also right on the beach, and to make contacts. The people there are very nice and partly speak good English.

But what was crucial for me during my stay at House Vangelis was something else: the hospitality of Vangelis, the landlord. It made me feel at home immediately in this place. His friendly and unobtrusive manner, along with occasional surprise gifts of jam, eggs, or bread, were signs of great openness and friendliness. At night, the view from the garden to the starry sky, during the day, the view of the Libyan Sea. Very friendly landlord (Vangelis), who takes care of the garden daily, but discreetly, and often surprises with basic food items from his own cultivation. Just a 3-minute drive to the sea. Beautiful, fairly secluded beach with a very nice tavern (Apothiki). Attention: Operating the washing machine requires trial and error or knowing Greek! Recommended: Arrival by car/rental car. We had a very lovely family vacation in Triopetra. The house is wonderfully located and offers an impressive view of the Libyan Sea. The small garden and the sun-protected outdoor area complement the rather small interior very well. The equipment is minimal but absolutely sufficient. The landlord is exceptionally hospitable and very proud of his house and the region. He offers bread and other products (oil, eggs, wine, fruits, olives, jam, etc.) almost daily. ) from their own production or from the region. Furthermore, it is very important to him that everything is in order. If there is a problem, he solves it immediately. If something is missing, he brings it by as quickly as possible. Communication is a mix of English, German, Greek, and hand signals, but always warm. In short, a highly recommended holiday home. The somewhat remote location comes with the disadvantage of distance to the nearest larger shopping area (Spili, 20 minutes drive, one way). However, the sea can be reached by car in 3 minutes. Umbrellas and sunbeds are available for free at Anthony's, the landlord's friend. Anthony also runs a nice tavern directly on the beach. There, you can enjoy great meals between the sea and sunbathing. The beach is very large and was never overcrowded even in July. The slightly more distant coves (e.g. Ligres, Triopetra) are also easily accessible by car. B. , Agios Pavlos) are very beautiful and well-equipped. It is also important to consider that the region is quite exposed to the wind. The wind turbines on the mountain behind the house are not there by chance. However, the wind also brings the advantage of pleasant summer temperatures (feeling like 25C when it's over 30C). The island can be explored easily by car (Festos, Knossos, monasteries, etc.), but you also need to be willing to cover some kilometers. The location is highly recommended for vacationers who enjoy nature and like to explore.

I was able to spend 4 weeks of time-out at Vangelis House. The friendly and hospitable nature of the landlord Vangelis deeply impressed me. He regularly took care of things and always had small gifts for consumption with him. A rental car is essential, the "seclusion" of Triopetra is a big plus for those seeking peace and an alternative to crowded resorts and beaches. A newly asphalted road leads from Akoumia to Triopetra in about 15-20 minutes. 15 minutes to the house and from there it's only 3 km, just a few minutes to the great sandy/gravel beach. The view from the terrace and the garden, where you can help yourself to fresh herbs at any time, is beautiful. Sun loungers and umbrellas are provided for free at the beach tavern of Antonio, a friend of the landlord. All in all, the most beautiful and relaxing holiday of my life so far. I will probably "relapse" quite soon. Also, the professional and prompt help from Jassu with an issue on-site contributed to the success of the vacation. Once again: Thank you very much to Vangelis, a wonderful person with a big heart. I am grateful to have met him.

Nice. There was NO weekly cleaning - nor was there a change of linen. . . . . . . . Rating: the house is located in a remote corner of Crete and has the essentials. The landlord takes care of things and comes by almost every day. Here you can feel the Greek hospitality. The peace is likely to be increasingly disturbed by the fact that the area is becoming more frequented. This leads to some noise pollution because the only road to the two nearby beautiful beaches comes in switchbacks towards the house and passes almost directly by. Overall, it was what we were looking for. It is only suitable for hikers who want to set off on their own, as there are no designated hiking trails there or in the surrounding area; to reach them, one must often drive long distances.

The house is located in a quiet area, the nearest bakery is a 20-minute drive through the mountains. But there is a well-functioning freezer. The small house Villa Maria is beautifully tucked away in lush greenery with a breathtaking view of the sea in the olive groves of Triopetra. Das Haus ist nett und die Lage ist sehr gut, jedoch sehr abseits der nächsten Superette. Aber dafür gibt es genug Tavernen im Umkreis. Es war zwar bemerkt dass das Haus rustikal und einfach eingerichtet ist aber was wir vorgefunden haben ist doch etwas sehr simpel: In jedem Zimmer ein winziger Kleiderschrank ohne Regale nur Kleiderstange, so dass wir die ganze Zeit offenen am Boden liegende Koffer hatten. Es gab auch keinen Stuhl zur Ablage de Kleidung zB.... Im Bad gab es auch nicht genug Haken oder Stangen für die Handtücher, und ausser einem Schränkchen keine Abstellmöglichkeit für unsere Badezimmerartikel Die Klimaanlage im Wohnraum schaffte es so eben diesen zu kühlen, so dass es in den Zimmern sehr warm war und die kleinen Ventilatoren am Boden auch zu schwach und laut waren. Deckenventilatoren wären doch angebracht, auch vom Lärm her Im Wohnraum waren auch keine Stühle um drinnen zu essen, man musste diese(aber nicht für innen gedacht) von draussen reinholen Das Geschirr war sehr spartanisch und so eben für 4 Personnen vorgesehen, Tassen hatten alle eine andere Form und Grösse, Messer schnitten gut die Butter aber nicht das Fleisch Es fehlte mindestens ein Kochtopf mehr um vernünftig kochen zu können, auch keine Tupperware, und Untersetzer für Pfanne oder Topf. Es gab keine Schalen für Müssli, und keinen Toaster !! auch kein Utensil (Schieber) um das Spiegelei aus der Pfanne zu holen Etwas Salz, Pfeffer und Zucker hätte man ja auch für die Ankunft vorsehen können aber das ist sekundär Draussen gab es 2 Liegen, wo aber das Haus für 4 Personnen vorgesehen ist Anstatt der Gartendusche gab es einen Gartenschlauch Die Waschmaschine war schwierig zu bedienen da alles auf Griechisch draufstand, ein Blatt mit Übersetzung wäre angebracht Unsere Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und haben immer Früchte und kleine Spezialitäten vorbeibebracht Leider sprachen sie kaum ein Wort englisch so dass es nicht möglich war zu kommunizieren Wir fanden also diese Unterkunft unzureichend ausgestattet für einen Aufenthalt von mehr als 3 Tagen Wir haben trotzdem eine schöne Zeit gehabt und versucht von oben zitierten Kriterien Abstand zu nehmen Wir würden uns freuen wenn wir bei einer nächsten Reservierung bei ihnen eine kommerzielle Geste als Entschädigung erhalten MfG
