Description

The Villa Buena Vista with a private pool is a real find with its idyllic and quiet location.
Once you arrive, the villa welcomes you with a harmonious atmosphere.
The cozy decor is in white and blue. Here you will find the oasis with optimal privacy, where you can spend dreamlike days. The dream villa is air-conditioned and all windows have mosquito nets.
With approximately. 75 cozy sqm divided into a bedroom, living/sleeping room, kitchen, bathroom, and dining room make the villa the perfect size for a dream vacation. The private terrace with its own pool and magnificent sea view is your additional living space outdoors.
The queen-size bed (160cm x 200cm) in the separate bedroom is very comfortable, and the view from the window also shows the sea. The living room offers an additional, separate sleeping area for up to 2 people. The sleeping areas are parallel to each other, with a surface area of about 80cm x 194 cm.
The spacious, bright bathroom has a large bathtub and a large vanity with plenty of storage space.
You will find all the amenities in your kitchen that contribute to a relaxing vacation. These include a dishwasher, washing machine, stove with ceramic hob, coffee maker.
All the usual TV and radio programs are available via the satellite connection (Astra). Right in front of the house you will find your parking space.

Surroundings:
The nearby smart little seaside resort Kalo Nero offers several restaurants (directly at the beach front), a bakery, pharmacy and a small supermarket.
You can find a lot of interesting destinations in the surrounding area. Such as Olympia or Ancient Messini, Methoni, Voidokilia or Pylos just to name a few.
Every Sunday there is a traditional market in Kopanaki where you can buy locally produced vegetables and other products.

The region:
You prefer to relax in a sun shaded sunbed with attendence? Or should your beach be just for you and nobody else? You will find whatever you search for.

Arrival:
Arriving by plane you should fly to Kalamata and rent a car. The drive to your Villa Buena Vista takes around 1 hour.
If you travel with your own car, we recommend the ferry to Patras from either Ancona or from Venice.

Dreamlike retreat

These 10 days in May 2025 will remain unforgettable for us (retired couple)!
The small villa is located in a very quiet area, tastefully furnished, and has beautiful outdoor facilities with a small pool, about 1.60 m deep. From there, the view of the bay of Kyparissia is simply breathtaking! This also compensates for the somewhat bumpy access (with a steep incline/decline at the end).
Everything is clean and in perfect condition, the owners (family. Finkenzeller) live very nearby and are always approachable, accommodating, and extremely helpful.
The location of the villa is excellently suited as a starting point for archaeological visits to the Nestor Palace and to Olympia, Peristeria, and Messene (A must-see! For us, Messene tops Olympia…). Our travel time was optimal for such visits, as the excavation sites were not yet overrun by tourists and the temperatures were pleasant. We will recommend the accommodation without reservation!

Dreamlike

It was a wonderful vacation in a beautiful location. Villa Buena Vista offers both relaxing and restful days by the pool and a good starting point for excursions in the area. The slightly bumpy approach is quickly compensated by the fantastic view. The friendly hosts were always available with advice and assistance. We will come back!

Dreamlike villa

Wonderfully beautiful villa with a lot of comfort.
Glorious tranquility and fantastic views compensate for the somewhat uncomfortable journey to the house (bad road).

The second time was even more beautiful, we're sharing this insider tip!

We were at Villa Buena Vista for the second time. A radical decluttering of the large plants in front of the swimming pool improved the view of the valley and the sea even more and was very impressive.

We arrived and were relaxed in two minutes. Everything is clean, well-prepared, the most important things are available, and we could start our vacation. The beautiful lounge area, the clean and compact kitchen are just the prelude to the main highlight: the terrace, which is actually more of an inner courtyard and has some seating areas, including a covered dining table. To the right, there is a shower, and straight ahead of us is the small but fine pool with a view of nature behind it and the sea and mountains beyond.

As soon as we sat down, we didn't want to do anything else but look forward. We did do some things, however, such as beach walks, swimming sessions in the deep blue water, a trip to the nearby Costa Navarino golf course (ET course!), as well as a trip to great excavations and monuments in Messini. The culinary highlights were our favorite part: within a few minutes, there are so many great places to eat with authentic Greek cuisine that we could hardly eat enough. Our tip: Try many, many appetizers, including those you have never had before.

The 4 stars (instead of 5) for service have nothing to do with the accommodating landlords or the property itself, but one should simply expect to mostly take care of themselves in such an apartment, for which you need a car or a bike here. By the way, the Buena Vista 2 apartments are a two-minute walk away, and there is an even larger pool.

In general, you shouldn't talk too much about such unique insider tips, but here we want to share our enthusiasm.

We will be back.

Oasis to feel good

Already the email contact with the host in the run-up to our trip was very friendly and uncomplicated. We were grateful for the German-speaking support on site and especially for the fact that we were even allowed to check in at night after the late arrival of our ferry in Patras and were welcomed. Drinks and breakfast were already ready in the fridge so that we could enjoy our holiday in Villa Buena Vista from the first moment. We wanted for nothing, the house was very clean and beautifully furnished - exactly as shown in the photos, including the fantastic view! The folder with tips for excursions in the area was also very helpful and contributed to the fact that we (my two daughters and I) discovered a lot during our first holiday in Greece, always ate delicious food and experienced unforgettable sunsets, among other things.

Dream holiday individual and still easily accessible

We (parents) stayed in the detached villa. The children (16+) were about 2 minutes away in one of the Sundowner Suites apartments. An ideal thing for our constellation.
We had 100% peace and privacy in a villa that can only be described as dreamlike. State of the art facilities with air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen, and a huge terrace. There were several seating areas from which we could enjoy the beautiful bay with sea view. The highlight was the pool, with a view of the pure nature around us. However, a car is highly recommended for shopping and self-catering. With the car we could also do a lot, e.g. the beach is only 10 minutes away by car. There you can choose between authentic restaurants directly on the beach, elegant beach cafes (e.g. Mammos in Kyparissia) or rustic container huts (no name ;).

The food is always very good. We will be back!

A Dream Holiday

We were there for 2 weeks at the end of December over New Year and were absolutely lucky with the weather.
In the afternoons, it was pleasantly warm almost like early summer most of the time.

Villa Buena Vista is simply a dream and an ideal place to relax.
Very clean, very quiet, fully air-conditioned and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday.
Only.... as tempting as the crystal-clear swimming pool was.... Unfortunately, the water was a bit too chilly in December.
That's why we're looking forward all the more to jumping in it the next time we're here in summer.
The seasonal airport in Kalamata will be open again then as well, which is only an hour's drive away. It was a good 3-hour drive from Athens airport.
But we didn't mind much, because we already saw a lot of Greek countryside on the way. And the tolls on the motorway are not expensive either.

The hosts (Melanie and Stefan) are very friendly and helpful. Their funny golden retriever Jerry also gave us a warm welcome right away.
We felt very comfortable from the first minute.
Melanie and Stefan had lots of tips on what sights we should definitely see in the area. ...because we hadn't really prepared ourselves.
We went to Olympia, Marathon, the Neda waterfalls and Messina, among other places. To name just a few of our excursion destinations.

In the restaurants in the area, we enjoyed the very tasty local cuisine in sumptuous portions for little money.
You shouldn't be on a diet, because then you'll miss out on the best

It was our first, but definitely not our last holiday in Greece.
We're already looking forward to the next time and to seeing Melanie, Stefan and Jerry again.

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal in der Villa Buena Vista. Durch eine radikale Entschlackung der großen Pflanzen vor dem Swimming Pool war die Sicht in die Weite des Tales und auf das Meer noch besser und beeindruckender. Wir sind angekommen und in 2 Minuten waren wir entspannt. Alles ist sauber, gut vorbereitet, die wichtigsten Dinge sind vorhanden und wir konnten loslegen mit Urlaub. Der schöne Aufenthaltsbereich, die saubere und kompakte Küche sind dann immer nur die Vorstufe zum eigentliche Höhepunkt: Die Terasse, die eigentlich mehr ein Innenhof ist und links einige Sitzgelegenheiten inkl, überdachtem Esstisch aufweist. Rechts ist eine Dusche und gerade vor uns der kleine aber feine Pool mit dem dahinterliegenden Blick in die Natur und dahinter das Meer und die Berge. Sobald wir saßen wollten wir nichts mehr tun. also nach vorne zu schauen. Wir haben dann doch einiges unternommen, wie Strandspaziergänge, Schwimmsessions im tiefblauen Wasser, ein Trip zum nahegelegenen Golfplatz Costa Navarino (ET Platz!) sowie ein Trip zu großartigen Ausgrabungen und Denkmälern in Messini. Die Höhepunkte waren hierbei kulinarisch: es gibt hier in Umkreis von wenigen Minuten so viele toll Essensmöglichkeiten mit authentischer griechischer Küche, dass wir uns kaum sattessen konnten. Unser Tipp: Viele Viele Vorspeisen ausprobieren, auch diejenigen, die ihr noch nie hattet. Die 4 Sterne (statt 5) bei Service haben nichts mit den zuvorkommenden Vermietern oder der Anlage im speziellen zu tun, nur muss man bei einem solchen Appartment einfach damit rechnen, dass man sich großteils selbst versorgt, wozu man hier ein Auto oder ein Fahrrad braucht. Übrigens liegen die Appartements Buena Vista 2 Gehminuten entfern und hier befindet sich noch ein wesentlich größerer Pool. Eigentlich sollte man nicht zu viel über solch einmalige Geheimtipps sprechen, aber hier wollen wir unsere Begeisterung doch teilen. Wir kommen wieder.

Wir waren Ende Dezember über Neujahr für 2 Wochen da und hatten absolutes Glück mit dem Wetter. Nachmittags war es die meiste Zeit fast frühsommerlich angenehm warm. Die Villa Buena Vista ist einfach ein Traum und ein idealer Ort zum Entspannen. Sehr sauber, sehr ruhig, voll klimatisiert und mit allem ausgestattet was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub braucht. Nur…. so verlockend wie der kristallklare Swimmingpool auch war. Im Dezember war er leider etwas zu kalt. Deshalb freuen wir uns schon umso mehr auf den Sprung ins kühle Nass, wenn wir das nächste Mal im Sommer hier sind. Dann hat auch der saisonale Flughafen in Kalamata wieder auf. Der ist nur eine Stunde Autofahrt entfernt. Vom Flughafen in Athen waren es gut 3 Stunden Fahrt. Was uns aber nicht viel ausgemacht hat, weil wir bei der Anfahrt schon viel griechische Landschaft gesehen haben. Und die kleinen Mautgebühren auf der Autobahn sind auch nicht der Rede wert. Die Gastgeber (Melanie und Stefan) sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ihr lustiger Golden Retriever Jerry hat uns auch gleich wärmstens willkommen geheißen. Wir haben uns von der ersten Minute an sehr wohl gefühlt. Melanie und Stefan hatten jede Menge Tipps welche Sehenswürdigkeiten man sich in der Umgebung unbedingt anschauen sollte. …weil wir uns typischerweise mal wieder nicht so wirklich vorbereitet hatten. :-) So waren wir unter anderem in Olympia, in Marathon, bei den Neda Wasserfällen und in Messina. Um nur ein paar unserer Ausflugsziele zu nennen. In den Restaurants in der Umgebung kann man für wenig Geld die sehr leckere lokale Küche in üppigen Portionen genießen. Da sollte man nicht gerade auf Diät sein, weil man dann das beste verpasst. ;-) Auch hier konnten wir auf die Tipps von Melanie und Stefan vertrauen. Es war unser erster, aber bestimmt nicht unser letzter Urlaub in Griechenland. Wir freuen uns schon riesig auf das nächste Mal und auf ein Wiedersehen mit Melanie, Stefan und Jerry.
