Villa Buena Vista

A dream.

We were there for 2 weeks over New Year at the end of December and were absolutely lucky with the weather.
In the afternoons, it was almost pleasantly warm in early summer most of the time.

Villa Buena Vista is simply a dream and an ideal place to relax.
Very clean, very quiet, fully air-conditioned and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday.
Only.... as tempting as the crystal clear swimming pool was. Unfortunately it was a bit too cold in December.

That's why we're looking forward all the more to jumping into the cool water the next time we're here in summer.
Then the seasonal airport in Kalamata will be open again. It's only an hour's drive away. It was a good 3-hour drive from Athens airport.
But we didn't mind much, because we already saw a lot of Greek countryside on the way there. And the small tolls on the motorway are not worth mentioning either.

The hosts (Melanie and Stefan) are very friendly and helpful. Their funny golden retriever Jerry also gave us a warm welcome right away.
We felt very comfortable from the first minute.

Melanie and Stefan had lots of tips on what sights you should definitely see in the area. ...because, typically, we had not really prepared ourselves. :-)

We went to Olympia, Marathon, the Neda waterfalls and Messina, among other places. To name just a few of our excursion destinations

In the restaurants in the area, you can enjoy the very tasty local cuisine in generous portions for little money.
You shouldn't be on a diet, because then you'll miss the best ;-)
Here, too, we could rely on Melanie and Stefan's tips.

It was our first, but definitely not our last holiday in Greece.
We are already looking forward to the next time and to seeing Melanie, Stefan and Jerry again.
