In this old captain’s house, which was completely renovated by us in spring 2020, two new, bright, modern, and comfortably furnished holiday apartments with a maritime flair have been created.
The smoke- and pet-free upper apartment "Krabbe" is reached via a staircase and consists of a bedroom with a double bed and a walk-in closet with plenty of storage space. The bedroom window has an external blind and is equipped with a fly screen. From here you have a magnificent view over the Harle, the "Seeperlen" and the marina, hallway with wardrobe, daylight bathroom with shower and toilet, and living kitchen, consisting of kitchenette with 4-burner ceramic hob, refrigerator with freezer compartment, microwave, coffee machine, kettle and egg boiler, and toaster as well as a cozy sofa corner with flat-screen TV/DVD and CD/radio.
From the living kitchen you can access a sunny balcony with a view of the garden and towards the "Wattkieker". In the garden, a large lawn with seating and loungers is available for you.
There is also a lockable storage facility for bicycles.
A free car parking space is located directly in front of the house.

The holiday home is located in the best area of Harlesiel, just a short distance from the marina, ferry terminal, and the dike crossing to the outer harbor and bathing beach. With just a few steps you can reach the landing stage of the paddle steamer "Concordia II". Combined with a short boat trip, you have the opportunity to explore the idyllic museum harbor of Carolinensiel with its historic flat-bottomed sailing ships. Leave your car at the accommodation and use the "carobahn," which is free for you as a North Sea Service Card holder, to travel to Carolinensiel or take a round trip. The nearest stops from the holiday apartment are at the bakery or at the beach. The train runs daily from April 14th to October 31st from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
You can reach the nearest restaurant and bakery in just a few minutes on foot. Here you can purchase fresh bread rolls and delicious cake during the season.
In the center of Carolinensiel you will find restaurants, cafés, supermarkets, banks, doctors (general practitioners and a dentist), a hairdresser, and several shops for strolling, souvenirs, maritime gifts, and everything for beach equipment.
During the season, the weekly market takes place every Tuesday at the museum harbor.
Of course, you can also cover the approximately 2 km distance to the town center on foot. Along the beautiful Harle promenade there is much to discover, such as the view of the new "Seeperlen" (houses built on stilts), sailing school "Harlesail" with trial trips, historic lifeboat shed, the Friedrich lock, Cliner Quelle (with swimming pool, sauna, fitness, wellness and restaurant), cafés, restaurants,
Sielhafen Museum with Old Parsonage and National Park House. Along the way you will find some benches to rest on, and you can also refresh yourself with a fish sandwich from the coastal smokehouse.
Also just a few minutes’ walk from the holiday home is the outer harbor of Harlesiel. Excursion trips, such as to the seal banks, are offered there. From the newly opened restaurant "Wattkieker" in 2014, you have a beautiful view of the harbor and the island ferries and, in clear weather, also of the East Frisian islands Wangerooge, Spiekeroog, and Langeoog. With a bit of luck, you will meet a shrimp fisherman in the harbor and can watch as the fresh catch is unloaded.
Continue on to the sandy beach. Here you have the opportunity to rent a beach chair to relax in the sun sheltered from the wind, or to visit the newly completed adventure golf course "Wattengolf". At each mini-golf hole there are information boards explaining interesting facts about the Wadden Sea.
On a walk along the beach promenade, you can enjoy the view of the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea (pay attention to the tides) and breathe in the salty sea air. Harlesiel also offers a heated outdoor swimming pool and a sunbathing lawn.

Great holiday apartment!
My husband and I are now here for the 2nd time in this cozy vacation apartment. The equipment is great and everything is sufficiently available. The landlady is really nice and if something happens, she lives right next door.

Super beautiful apartment in a great location with a very nice landlord.
The apartment in maritime style pleased us very much. Everything is sparkling clean and bright and friendly, yet also very cozy?! The proximity to the dike is great. At the moment, there is still a lot of construction because the dike needs to be raised, but we did not find it disturbing in any way. When everything is green again, it will be even more beautiful! We were able to use the small balcony extensively. The walks to the old harbor and in the village did us very well, and the route was always beautiful! A bakery is reachable in one minute and is almost always open ? . The pier to Wangerooge is about a 10-minute walk away ☺️.

Great for a family of 3.
We are very satisfied with the apartment.
The fact that the apartment also has a large balcony is an absolute luxury??
In the children's room, there was already some toys that our little one could play with the entire time.
The baby bed was already made.
The location is great. From here, you could quickly reach many places, like the beach, the Concordia 2.
Anytime again and definitely recommendable ?

Great holiday apartment
Rarely enjoyed such a great holiday apartment. Everything you need to be able to cook is there. Extras: egg cooker and air fryer available. Large balcony. Right by the dike. About 100 m to the bakery, 6 minutes by bike to Edeka. Holiday apartment "Krabbe" is perfect for a family with one child (and baby) or two people. Ms. Schimmelpfennig is a great landlord, available with advice and assistance. Here you can relax and unwind, as it is very quiet. Suitable for beach holidays or cycling. A lockable bike garage behind the house is also available.

Modern, maritime apartment directly on the North Sea
We felt very comfortable, as we did last year.
The apartment is very clean and equipped with everything.
Despite the current dike construction work, we did not feel any impairment.
