The Trier Quereinhaus from 1866 was lovingly restored according to historical models.
Spend a unique experience with us in a holiday home from a bygone era. Far away from today's hustle and bustle, you can relax and unwind here in cosy surroundings. Of course, we offer all the modern facilities you would expect from a holiday home.
Nowadays it is becoming more and more important not to harm our environment unnecessarily, even on holiday. Therefore, nothing was more obvious than to renovate and operate our holiday home according to these criteria.
This began with the restoration with natural building materials such as sand, lime or loam. Jute, recycled from jute sacks, was used as insulation. The original ceiling structure of clay coils was retained and extended with reeds, clay and straw. Existing scrap wood and existing quarry stones were used in new areas and thus reused.
As far as it was possible, we avoided the use of plastic in the construction and furnishing. Of course, this was not possible for everything, as otherwise you would have to do without the modern comforts you expect nowadays, such as power cables, TV, fridge and dishwasher. For the furnishings, we have also, as far as possible, made use of existing or otherwise already used furniture and refurbished it, thus avoiding the waste of resources that otherwise occurs with every manufacture of new goods. So that you can also act ecologically on holiday without too much effort, we provide you with the following for the period of your holiday with us:
Recycled toilet paper and kitchen paper
Cloth shopping bags
Eco dishwasher tablets and washing-up liquid
Dish brush and cotton cloths instead of synthetic sponges
Refillable drinks bottle and lunch box (tap water is drinkable)
Enamel cookware, good for your health and energy-saving
Enamel water kettles instead of kettles
lED light bulbs only
Electricity from renewable energy sources
sufficient possibilities for waste separation
ecological mattresses and pillows made of natural rubber as well as duvets made of hemp from allnatura (only for the double bed)
we wash with easily biodegradable detergent
without fabric softener
we use ecological cleaning agents such as vinegar cleaner, citric acid, washing soda etc.
we avoid the use of a dryer and iron
When furnishing the kitchen, we have dispensed with unnecessary electrical appliances such as toasters, coffee makers, egg boilers, etc. and provided you with alternatives. This may put some of you off, but perhaps you will find some like-minded people among you who would like to take the time, at least on holiday, to boil their coffee or tea water in a kettle and brew it conventionally. By doing without the many electrical appliances, you can perhaps slow down your life a little and enjoy your coffee slowly, for example.

Our holiday house is located in the historic center of Wolsfeld in the beautiful South Eifel between Bitburg and Echternach/Luxembourg.
Situated directly on the Nimstal bicycle trail, there are many opportunities from here to explore the surroundings by bike. After 30 km, you will reach the Roman city of Trier, and the city of Luxembourg can even be reached directly by bus from Wolsfeld.
The popular hiking region Müllerthal in Luxembourg is quickly accessible by car.

Explore the Southern Eifel Nature Park on numerous hiking and cycling trails or visit Germany's oldest city, Trier, with its buildings dating back to Roman times. Our neighbouring country Luxembourg with its capital worth seeing is also worth a trip and can be reached directly by bus from Wolsfeld.
You are also welcome to relax in our farm garden or observe the numerous birds, insects and butterflies. For children there is a playhouse in the garden.

Beautifully renovated romantic home
Great nice house, with a retro feel and an enthusiastic lovely owner.
Almost everything has been well thought out, except that there are also people who are taller than 1.75m.
I, at 1.93m, had to bend down to get into the dining room and living room; if I didn't, I would probably have walked around with a bandage on my forehead. Furthermore, I had only 5 cm of space between the rain shower and my head and had to bend down to look in the bathroom mirror. Furthermore, you need to be mobile, as the house is not suitable for seniors due to the 3 floors and thus stairs.

Da es sich um ein historisches Haus handelt, sind die Türstürze natürlich teilweise etwas niedrig, da die Menschen zu der damaligen Zeit selten so groß wurden. Daher gibt es in unserem Haus keine Standardmaße eines Neubaus. Damit es bei zukünftigen Gästen keine Missverständnisse gibt, habe ich nachgemessen und die Höhe beträgt 1,85 m.
Den Spiegel muss ich auf eine mittlere Höhe hängen, da es auch Menschen gibt, die nur 1,60 m oder kleiner sind.
Dass das Haus nicht für Senioren geeignet ist, würde ich nicht sagen. Voraussetzung ist natürlich, dass diese keine Probleme beim Treppensteigen haben, aber das ist dann ein generelles Problem. Wir hatten schon öfters Gäste, die über 80 Jahr alt sind und überaus fit waren und somit keine Probleme mit den beiden Treppen hatten. Das ist alles eine Frage der Gewohnheit, Fitness und Gesundheit.
Ich beantworte Bewertungen immer ausführlich und manchmal auch berichtigend, da es ansonsten eine große Verunsicherung bei zukünftigen Gästen gibt.

We felt comfortable!
We were warmly welcomed with flowers and vegetables from the garden. Hostess Jessica immediately assisted us with advice and help. The holiday home is very cozy and we also enjoyed the yard and the garden very much. Two hiking trails pass right by the house and fresh rolls can be picked up every morning at the bakery around the corner.

Excellent

One cannot live more beautifully.
We found a lovingly furnished holiday home here. Very clean, with many little details in the interior, there was always something new to discover. Nothing was lacking, and we immediately had a warm contact with Jessica and Andreas, the landlords.
We used a small cozy seating area next to the entrance daily after our hikes. We were also allowed to use a large, beautiful natural garden in the back area, simply wonderful. One simply has to visit and enjoy this peacefully located house. By the way, the beds are really comfortable, which is not often the case in holiday apartments. We are very grateful to have been able to stay in this very special house and definitely recommend it further.

Idyllic place near the Rock Eifel
Very nicely furnished vacation apartment, especially the large bedroom under the roof has charm. If you like soft mattresses, you sleep wonderfully. Short walks into the greenery are also possible from the town center.
