Description
The Trier Quereinhaus from 1866 was lovingly restored according to historical models.
Spend a unique experience with us in a holiday home from a bygone era. Far away from today's hustle and bustle, you can relax and unwind here in cosy surroundings. Of course, we offer all the modern facilities you would expect from a holiday home.
Nowadays it is becoming more and more important not to harm our environment unnecessarily, even on holiday. Therefore, nothing was more obvious than to renovate and operate our holiday home according to these criteria.
This began with the restoration with natural building materials such as sand, lime or loam. Jute, recycled from jute sacks, was used as insulation. The original ceiling structure of clay coils was retained and extended with reeds, clay and straw. Existing scrap wood and existing quarry stones were used in new areas and thus reused.
As far as it was possible, we avoided the use of plastic in the construction and furnishing. Of course, this was not possible for everything, as otherwise you would have to do without the modern comforts you expect nowadays, such as power cables, TV, fridge and dishwasher. For the furnishings, we have also, as far as possible, made use of existing or otherwise already used furniture and refurbished it, thus avoiding the waste of resources that otherwise occurs with every manufacture of new goods. So that you can also act ecologically on holiday without too much effort, we provide you with the following for the period of your holiday with us:
Recycled toilet paper and kitchen paper
Cloth shopping bags
Eco dishwasher tablets and washing-up liquid
Dish brush and cotton cloths instead of synthetic sponges
Refillable drinks bottle and lunch box (tap water is drinkable)
Enamel cookware, good for your health and energy-saving
Enamel water kettles instead of kettles
lED light bulbs only
Electricity from renewable energy sources
sufficient possibilities for waste separation
ecological mattresses and pillows made of natural rubber as well as duvets made of hemp from allnatura (only for the double bed)
we wash with easily biodegradable detergent
without fabric softener
we use ecological cleaning agents such as vinegar cleaner, citric acid, washing soda etc.
we avoid the use of a dryer and iron
When furnishing the kitchen, we have dispensed with unnecessary electrical appliances such as toasters, coffee makers, egg boilers, etc. and provided you with alternatives. This may put some of you off, but perhaps you will find some like-minded people among you who would like to take the time, at least on holiday, to boil their coffee or tea water in a kettle and brew it conventionally. By doing without the many electrical appliances, you can perhaps slow down your life a little and enjoy your coffee slowly, for example.

Our holiday house is located in the historic center of Wolsfeld in the beautiful South Eifel between Bitburg and Echternach/Luxembourg.
Situated directly on the Nimstal bicycle trail, there are many opportunities from here to explore the surroundings by bike. After 30 km, you will reach the Roman city of Trier, and the city of Luxembourg can even be reached directly by bus from Wolsfeld.
The popular hiking region Müllerthal in Luxembourg is quickly accessible by car.

Explore the Southern Eifel Nature Park on numerous hiking and cycling trails or visit Germany's oldest city, Trier, with its buildings dating back to Roman times. Our neighbouring country Luxembourg with its capital worth seeing is also worth a trip and can be reached directly by bus from Wolsfeld.
You are also welcome to relax in our farm garden or observe the numerous birds, insects and butterflies. For children there is a playhouse in the garden.

One cannot live more beautifully.
We found a lovingly furnished holiday home here. Very clean, with many little details in the interior, there was always something new to discover. Nothing was lacking, and we immediately had a warm contact with Jessica and Andreas, the landlords.
We used a small cozy seating area next to the entrance daily after our hikes. We were also allowed to use a large, beautiful natural garden in the back area, simply wonderful. One simply has to visit and enjoy this peacefully located house. By the way, the beds are really comfortable, which is not often the case in holiday apartments. We are very grateful to have been able to stay in this very special house and definitely recommend it further.

Idyllic place near the Rock Eifel
Very nicely furnished vacation apartment, especially the large bedroom under the roof has charm. If you like soft mattresses, you sleep wonderfully. Short walks into the greenery are also possible from the town center.

Vacation home Quers
Very, very nice landlords ?? Beautifully renovated house in historic style. Well suited for 2 people. Very good hiking opportunities. However, you should have a car. Shopping options in the village are quite limited. But we really liked it.

Ohne Auto wäre es schon etwas schwierig, auch wenn Wolsfeld besser an den öffentlichen Verkehr angebunden ist als viele andere Dörfer hier in der Gegend. Und zumindest haben wir einen Bäcker, einen Metzger mit kleiner Lebensmittelauswahl und ein Restaurant. Aber für jemanden, der die Infrastruktur einer Stadt gewohnt ist, mag das sicherlich spärlich sein.
Daher freut es uns natürlich umso mehr, dass ihr euch hier wohlgefühlt habt. Herzliche Grüße

Feeling good pure
The house is ideally located to see both the beauty of the South Eifel and Luxembourg. Those who love nature have many opportunities to discover it. We really enjoyed our stay at the Quers house, everything is so lovingly furnished and the hosts are very open and very nice. We will definitely come back.

Superbly restored holiday home.
We felt super comfortable in the lovingly restored holiday home and found the hospitality to be particularly warm-hearted. We are very impressed by the successful interplay of old and new, the careful design, and the tasteful details. When we see the pictures of the original condition and construction work in the photo book, we can only admire the hosts! The courtyard with its many flowers and special corners always offered us a shady spot. We even got to admire a firefly dance in the garden! The house is highly recommended! Monika and Reiner.

Well-being weekend in Wolsfeld
We chose this holiday flat for a long weekend and were more than thrilled when we arrived. We were welcomed with a freshly made tea and muffin and a small tea light. We had never experienced anything like that before. The house dates back to 1866 and has been lovingly restored and renovated with a good taste for details. The idea of sustainability, which is very important here, has been implemented very well.
We felt very comfortable and can recommend the flat without reservation.
The landlords are super nice and we will be happy to come back.

Rustic feel-good house with history
We had a wonderfully relaxing week in an amazing house surrounded by impressive nature. Once inside the house, we were amazed at how beautifully the details of the furnishings blended into a harmonious whole with a lot of nostalgic charm. We slept comfortably with pillows and blankets from Alnatura on a natural rubber mattress. The whole family made you feel welcome. The beer garden pleasantly surprised us with its large natural garden with a distant view of a forest. From our seat we could admire a falcon (I guess a peregrine falcon) circling through the air.
We could well imagine coming back again.

A beautiful place for a short vacation. The vacation home is beautiful, very clean and lovingly furnished, the hosts very friendly and accommodating. Basic supply of organic food included. There is a nice courtyard to relax in the sun.

Tastefully renovated and high-quality equipped
The house is tastefully renovated, equipped with high-quality furnishings, and offers a lot of comfort. We spent many hours in the house during bad weather - highly recommended. The landlords are friendly, easily reachable and even set up a Christmas tree for us.
Those who enjoy hiking will find good accommodation here: there are many beautiful and well-marked hiking trails in the area. Trier and Luxembourg are quickly accessible by car and well worth a visit. We spent a relaxing vacation in Haus Quers and can recommend it to everyone.

Einfach mal Ausspannen
A wonderful vacation home! - old yet new - warmly furnished yet cool in the summer. Wunderschönes Ferienhaus
We can only rave about our stay at the holiday home Quers! Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed. The holiday home is beautifully furnished in vintage style with a lot of attention to detail. Each room has its charm, but we particularly liked the cozy bedroom under the roof. The beds were very comfortable and provided a restful night. The whole holiday home was super clean and well-maintained and equipped with everything you need. Even books and toys for the little ones were provided. We really liked the concept of sustainability. The host family is very warm, friendly, and helpful, one feels very welcome. We also felt very comfortable in the adjacent courtyard with seating, a small oasis in the green. Conclusion: The holiday home Quers is truly something very special. We will definitely book it again and are already looking forward to the next stay!

Awakens a longing for a reunion.
A very friendly welcome upon our arrival and a wonderfully, lovingly renovated and furnished house gave us a "feel-good feeling" right from the start. Everything we needed and more was provided in the house. It was very clean, and the interior decor and house were carefully coordinated down to the smallest detail. Liebevoll renoviertes Ferienhaus
The holiday home is really beautiful - very cozy and decorated with attention to detail. I also find the connection to the history of the house and the use of natural materials in its furnishings and renovation lovely - I felt very comfortable.
On the terrace in the charmingly landscaped inner courtyard in front of the kitchen, there is a small table set, and in coordination with the nice landlord family, the beautiful large garden can also be used. When the weather allowed it, I enjoyed drinking my coffee there, lounging in the evening sun, and occasionally watching the donkey, pony, and alpacas on the adjacent property. Children would surely enjoy it here too.
Trier (one of the oldest cities in Germany) is only about 30 km away, and the border to Luxembourg is even closer. There I visited the charming town of Echternach (- I already knew the city of Luxembourg -) and went on a great hike in the Müllerthal ("Little Switzerland of Luxembourg"). In general, you can take beautiful trips into nature in the area. In the apartment, there is also a self-designed photo book with excursion tips and a folder with hiking routes. Additionally, there is a very friendly and helpful landlady who is often on-site, knowledgeable, and always willing to listen - whether it be for a specific concern or just to exchange a few kind words in between.
I really enjoyed my stay - I would love to come back!
