The Trier Quereinhaus from 1866 was lovingly restored according to historical models.
Spend a unique experience with us in a holiday home from a bygone era. Far away from today's hustle and bustle, you can relax and unwind here in cosy surroundings. Of course, we offer all the modern facilities you would expect from a holiday home.
Nowadays it is becoming more and more important not to harm our environment unnecessarily, even on holiday. Therefore, nothing was more obvious than to renovate and operate our holiday home according to these criteria.
This began with the restoration with natural building materials such as sand, lime or loam. Jute, recycled from jute sacks, was used as insulation. The original ceiling structure of clay coils was retained and extended with reeds, clay and straw. Existing scrap wood and existing quarry stones were used in new areas and thus reused.
As far as it was possible, we avoided the use of plastic in the construction and furnishing. Of course, this was not possible for everything, as otherwise you would have to do without the modern comforts you expect nowadays, such as power cables, TV, fridge and dishwasher. For the furnishings, we have also, as far as possible, made use of existing or otherwise already used furniture and refurbished it, thus avoiding the waste of resources that otherwise occurs with every manufacture of new goods. So that you can also act ecologically on holiday without too much effort, we provide you with the following for the period of your holiday with us:
Recycled toilet paper and kitchen paper
Cloth shopping bags
Eco dishwasher tablets and washing-up liquid
Dish brush and cotton cloths instead of synthetic sponges
Refillable drinks bottle and lunch box (tap water is drinkable)
Enamel cookware, good for your health and energy-saving
Enamel water kettles instead of kettles
lED light bulbs only
Electricity from renewable energy sources
sufficient possibilities for waste separation
ecological mattresses and pillows made of natural rubber as well as duvets made of hemp from allnatura (only for the double bed)
we wash with easily biodegradable detergent
without fabric softener
we use ecological cleaning agents such as vinegar cleaner, citric acid, washing soda etc.
we avoid the use of a dryer and iron
When furnishing the kitchen, we have dispensed with unnecessary electrical appliances such as toasters, coffee makers, egg boilers, etc. and provided you with alternatives. This may put some of you off, but perhaps you will find some like-minded people among you who would like to take the time, at least on holiday, to boil their coffee or tea water in a kettle and brew it conventionally. By doing without the many electrical appliances, you can perhaps slow down your life a little and enjoy your coffee slowly, for example.

Our holiday home is located in the historic centre of Wolsfeld in the beautiful southern Eifel between Bitburg and Echternach/Luxembourg
Situated directly on the Nimstal cycle path, there are many opportunities to explore the surrounding area by bike from here. After 30 km you can reach the Roman city of Trier and the city of Luxembourg can even be reached by direct bus connection from Wolsfeld.

Explore the Southern Eifel Nature Park on numerous hiking and cycling trails or visit Germany's oldest city, Trier, with its buildings dating back to Roman times. Our neighbouring country Luxembourg with its capital worth seeing is also worth a trip and can be reached directly by bus from Wolsfeld.
You are also welcome to relax in our farm garden or observe the numerous birds, insects and butterflies. For children there is a playhouse in the garden.

Vacation home Quers
Very, very nice landlords ?? Beautifully renovated house in historic style. Well suited for 2 people. Very good hiking opportunities. However, you should have a car. Shopping options in the village are quite limited. But we really liked it.

Ohne Auto wäre es schon etwas schwierig, auch wenn Wolsfeld besser an den öffentlichen Verkehr angebunden ist als viele andere Dörfer hier in der Gegend. Und zumindest haben wir einen Bäcker, einen Metzger mit kleiner Lebensmittelauswahl und ein Restaurant. Aber für jemanden, der die Infrastruktur einer Stadt gewohnt ist, mag das sicherlich spärlich sein.
Daher freut es uns natürlich umso mehr, dass ihr euch hier wohlgefühlt habt. Herzliche Grüße

Feeling good pure
The house is ideally located to see both the beauty of the South Eifel and Luxembourg. Those who love nature have many opportunities to discover it. We really enjoyed our stay at the Quers house, everything is so lovingly furnished and the hosts are very open and very nice. We will definitely come back.

Superbly restored holiday home.
We felt super comfortable in the lovingly restored holiday home and found the hospitality to be particularly warm-hearted. We are very impressed by the successful interplay of old and new, the careful design, and the tasteful details. When we see the pictures of the original condition and construction work in the photo book, we can only admire the hosts! The courtyard with its many flowers and special corners always offered us a shady spot. We even got to admire a firefly dance in the garden! The house is highly recommended! Monika and Reiner.

Well-being weekend in Wolsfeld
We chose this holiday flat for a long weekend and were more than thrilled when we arrived. We were welcomed with a freshly made tea and muffin and a small tea light. We had never experienced anything like that before. The house dates back to 1866 and has been lovingly restored and renovated with a good taste for details. The idea of sustainability, which is very important here, has been implemented very well.
We felt very comfortable and can recommend the flat without reservation.
The landlords are super nice and we will be happy to come back.

Rustic feel-good house with history
We had a wonderfully relaxing week in an amazing house surrounded by impressive nature. Once inside the house, we were amazed at how beautifully the details of the furnishings blended into a harmonious whole with a lot of nostalgic charm. We slept comfortably with pillows and blankets from Alnatura on a natural rubber mattress. The whole family made you feel welcome. The beer garden pleasantly surprised us with its large natural garden with a distant view of a forest. From our seat we could admire a falcon (I guess a peregrine falcon) circling through the air.
We could well imagine coming back again.

A beautiful place for a short vacation. The vacation home is beautiful, very clean and lovingly furnished, the hosts very friendly and accommodating. Basic supply of organic food included. There is a nice courtyard to relax in the sun.

Geschmackvoll renoviert und hochwertig ausgestattettes
Das Haus ist geschmackvoll renoviert, hochwertig ausgestattet und bietet viel Komfort. Wir haben bei schlechtem Wetter viele Stunden im Haus verbracht - sehr zu empfehlen. Die Vermieter sind sympathisch, gut erreichbar und hatten für uns sogar einen Weihnachtsbaum aufgestellt.
Wer gerne wandert ist hier gut untergebracht: in der Umgebung gibt es viele schöne und gut ausgeschilderte Wanderungen. Trier und Luxemburg sind mit dem Auto schnell zu erreichen und sehr sehenswert.
Wir haben einen erholsamen Urlaub in Haus Quers verbracht und können es jedem empfehlen.

Einfach mal Ausspannen
Ein wunderbares Ferienhaus! - alt und doch neu -warmherzig eingerichtet und doch kühl im Sommer-
wir wurden von der lieben Gastfamilie so herzlich begrüßt und begleitet, dass wir uns 5 Tage nur wohlgefühlt und uns entschleunigt haben. Schöne Natur rundherum, interessante Städte, nette Leute, man kann viel unternehmen. Wir wollten gar nicht mehr wegfahren. Bis zum nächsten Mal!!!

Gelungene Mischung aus Entspannung und Aktivität
Ein Ferienhaus mit Wohlfühlgarantie! Entspannte Einfachheit, liebevoll, detailreich und stilsicher eingerichtet. Wir haben uns hier pudelwohl und gut herzlich empfangen gefühlt. Im Haus und Garten hat man alles, was man braucht um zu Entschleunigen. Es finden sich aber auch viele Möglichkeiten zur Freizeitgestaltung in der Umgebung oder in nahegelegenen Bitburg. Eigentlich will man gar nicht wieder weg! Vielen Dank und hoffentlich bis bald!

Wunderschönes Ferienhaus
Wir können von unserem Aufenthalt im Ferienhaus Quers nur schwärmen! Bei der Anreise wurden wir direkt herzlich empfangen. Das Ferienhaus ist wunderschön im Vintagestil eingerichtet mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Jeder Raum hat seinen Charme, jedoch das gemütliche Schlafzimmer unterm Dach hat uns besonders gut gefallen. Die Betten waren sehr bequem und bieten eine erholsame Nacht. Das ganze Ferienhaus war super sauber und gepflegt und mit allem ausgestattet, was man so benötigt. Sogar an Bücher und Spielsachen für die Kleinsten wurde gedacht. Das Konzept der Nachhaltigkeit hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Gastfamilie ist sehr herzlich, freundlich und hilsbereit, man fühlt sich sehr willkommen. Auch im angrenzenden Hof mit Sitzgelegenheit haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt, eine kleine Oase im Grünen. Fazit: Das Ferienhaus Quers ist wirklich etwas ganz besonderes. Wir werden es auf jeden Fall wieder buchen und freuen uns jetzt schon auf den nächsten Aufenthalt!

Weckt Sehnsucht nach einem Wiedersehen
Eine sehr freundliche Begrüßung zu unserer Ankunft und ein wundervoll, liebevoll renoviertes und eingerichtetes Haus gaben uns schon bei unserer Ankunft ein "Wohlfühl - Gefühl". Im Haus war an alles gedacht, was man benötigt und noch mehr. Es war alles sehr sauber und bis ins Detail waren Innenausstattung und Haus aufeinander abgestimmt.

Liebevoll renoviertes Ferienhaus
Das Ferienhaus ist wirklich schön – sehr gemütlich und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Auch die Verbundenheit mit der Geschichte des Hauses und die Verwendung natürlicher Materialien bei seiner Einrichtung und Renovierung finde ich schön – ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt.
Auf der zum hübsch bepflanzten Innenhof gelegenen Terrasse vor der Küche steht eine kleine Tischgruppe, und in Abstimmung mit der netten Vermieter-Familie kann außerdem auch der schöne große Garten mitbenutzt werden. Als das Wetter es zuließ habe ich dort ganz wunderbar meinen Kaffee trinken, in der Liege die Abendsonne genießen und dabei z.T. dem Eselchen, Pony und den Alpakas zuschauen können, die sich gelegentlich auf dem hinten angrenzenden Grundstück sehen lassen. Kindern würde es sicher auch gefallen hier.
Trier (eine der ältesten Städte Deutschlands) ist nur ca. 30 km entfernt und die Grenze nach Luxemburg ist noch schneller erreicht. Dort habe ich mir das nette Städtchen Echternach angesehen (- die sehenswerte Stadt Luxemburg kannte ich bereits -) und eine tolle Wanderung im Müllerthal („kleine Luxemburger Schweiz“) unternommen. Überhaupt kann man in der Gegend wunderschöne Ausflüge in die Natur unternehmen. In der Wohnung liegt auch ein selbst gestaltetes Fotobuch mit Ausflugstipps und ein Ordner mit Wanderrouten. Außerdem gibt es eine sehr sympathische hilfsbereite Vermieterin, die oft vor Ort ist, sich gut auskennt und bei der man ein offenes Ohr findet – sei es wegen eines konkreten Anliegens oder einfach nur, um zwischendurch ein paar nette Worte zu wechseln.
Der Aufenthalt hat mir total gut gefallen – ich komme gerne wieder!
