Description
thatched historic fisherman's house Lütt Hauke***** (built around 1750) right half of the house, 75 sqm holiday flat Annerose
On the German side of the Szczecin Lagoon, on a peninsula, lies the small, 750-year-old fishing village of Altwarp, not far from the seaside resort of Ueckermünde, only about 13 km from the Baltic Sea as the crow flies.
You are surrounded by lots of water, countless natural beaches and its famous, large inland dunes and the special, pleasant sea air in this former air and spa resort.
The fishing village lies directly on the lagoon, so you have an excellent distant view of the islands of Usedom and Wollin.
Directly adjacent to the dunes is the historic thatched fisherman's cottage "Lütt Hauke" *****, which was renovated in 2018/19.
It was built around 1750 in the traditional Pomeranian half-timbered style.
Simple fishermen's houses are half-timbered houses with thatched or reed roofs. They have been characteristic of the style of the Haff coast for centuries.
The coast on the lagoon and Baltic Sea has of course been characterised by fishing for centuries. So what could be more natural than to choose a historic fisherman's house as a romantic holiday home.
We have rigorously removed all building sins and carefully added modern but timeless elements to Lütt Hauke, such as in the bathrooms, so that you have every modern comfort at your disposal.
The house is made exclusively of natural materials. It is therefore absolutely ecological. Accordingly, the indoor air is always pleasant.
All bricks, even those of the terraces, are handmade from the Hundisburg brickyard in Saxony-Anhalt. So is the perennial marsh lime. In this way we were also able to make a small contribution to the local manufactory, which is also using this income to renovate the castle there
In winter it is comfortably warm, thanks to the good insulation of the house and the most modern heating technology. A wood-burning stove in each flat can provide further pleasant moments on cold winter days.
The ceilings of the parlours are 2.17 m high, all other ceilings are considerably higher. All doors/stairs passages over 1.82 m. Both flats have one staircase each to the upper floor, which is very accessible.
The Fischerhus with its garden house is a non-smoking house, situated in a very large garden of approx. 1260 sqm on a dune and only approx. 350 m from the bathing beach and 400 m from the harbour.
Even in the hottest summers, the old house stays pleasantly cool, also because there is always a pleasant breeze blowing on the coast.
Statistically, the Haff-Baltic Sea region has the most hours of sunshine in Germany. So it is not "luck" that the sun shines, but a statistically proven fact.
The house consists of 2 semi-detached houses, the left maisonette "Traudel" for 2 persons plus baby/toddler with 69 sqm living space and the right maisonette "Annerose" for 2-4 persons plus baby/toddler with 75 sqm living space.
Both flats have their own entrance, are spatially close to each other and yet completely separate and independent and can be combined as required.
If you wish to use both flats, please have a look at the other flat under object no. 276548 and book it there additionally.

Through our many years of rental experience m. d. Fischerhaus Godewind***** also in Altwarp:
Holiday guests who feel the urge to stay busy even on holiday or simply preserve beautiful things with for the fun of it, for which we naturally understand, are welcome to engage in simple gardening such as mowing the lawn or cutting roses.
Then you have your own private "wellness holiday-active"
Coast:
Naturally, a fisherman's house is close to the water. You have a little water view from the property, as it is situated on a dune. Lütt Hauke is about 350 m from the bathing beach. It is a small village beach, not huge but never crowded. 2 other bathing places in/at the village. 2 other very beautiful beaches max. 20 min. by bike, very easy to cycle through beautiful coastal landscape. All beaches in the region are maintained by the municipalities and the water quality is monitored by the regional authorities. Everything is small and manageable; in contrast to the Baltic Sea coast, the region relies on gentle tourism. There are no traffic jams, lack of parking spaces, high parking fees or visitor's taxes like on the Baltic Sea.
A canoe is available for a fee in the garden of the other fishermen's house near the beach, Godewind. We don't have life jackets, but the Haff is very shallow at the village beach and the reeds, and therefore ideal for small children and safe for ice skating in winter. It is still refreshing even in extremely hot summers, never as icy as the Baltic Sea, has no jellyfish because it is fresh water.
Fishing has been a feature of the village since 1150, and the fishermen are happy to take you out on their small wooden boats for a small fee on their early morning trip to the lagoon. Just ask the numerous fishermen in the village.
A two-masted wooden fishing boat has been prepared for excursions and departs several times a day from its home port in Altwarp for trips across the lagoon. Other boat trips from the seaside resort of Ueckermünde to Swinemünde, Kamminke, Kaiserbäder, Stettin, Neuwarp, Rieth,...
Village and surrounding area:
The locals in the village and region are very !!! friendly.
Altwarp is situated on the tip of a peninsula. You will experience pure nature, because the village lies directly in the (!) nature park "Stettiner Haff" and is therefore surrounded very extensively by coastal landscape with water, dunes, marsh meadows and floodplain forests. There is a separate administration for this huge nature park, which organises hiking, cycling and canoeing tours (beaver, ...) and offers them at reasonable prices. In recent years, new cycling and hiking paths have been created and extended throughout the region.
In addition, there are countless meadow and forest paths that are good for walking and cycling.
Information material is available in our house or from the nature park or the tourist information offices in Altwarp at the harbour (small) and in the seaside resort of Ueckermünde at the castle (larger).
Of course you can also go fishing (map at the harbour), explore the nature on your own by canoe or bike. You can also explore nature on your own by canoe or bike, go sailing, surfing, kite surfing, ...
In spring, many artists open their studios to visitors.
In summer there is a varied, colourful cultural programme in many places.
In autumn you can hear the deer roaring in the garden. In the evenings they hang out in the dunes and reeds right next to the village and eat the last apples from our trees. Don't worry they won't damage anything, not even your car, which is very safe here anyway. The winter service works very well.
The region is very much characterised by nature and is sparsely populated. Therefore, it is not as crowded as the Baltic Sea coast even in the summer season. You can walk or cycle for hours without meeting people, you are alone with nature, eagles (all 3 species), herons, cranes, beavers, deer, ...
The forests are rich in mushrooms and
You will find on arrival, starting conditions with enough tabs for the dishwasher, soap, coffee filters, salt, pepper, dish towels, washing-up liquid, toilet paper, ...
The village's own country market shop is approx. 400m away. Open 8-12 and 15-18, Saturdays until 11. It is small but well-stocked, cheap and fresh, rolls, bread, vegetables, fruit, cakes, sausage and cheese not only packaged but also fresh at the counter,...
In Altwarp there are 2 restaurants open even in winter. Seasonally at the harbour and in the dunes 2 fish shops run by Altwarp fishermen with smokehouse, roastery, gastronomy. Very tasty and good value.
On the way there are many other restaurants and cafés that are open in winter, in Ueckermünde the upscale restaurant "Roter Butt" or the traditional "Backbord"

Beautifully restored holiday home
The holiday home is simply great, including the wonderful garden. The restoration was done with great attention to detail to preserve the character of the house. Starting from the furniture, to tiles, faucets, and even sockets and light switches, everything is styled to look old, but still meets modern standards. Everything is well thought out and practically furnished. A special highlight is the unusual garden. Not linear and structured, but naturally with many small and different options to settle down and relax. In the evening, the garden transforms into a playful sea of lights (all LED), which appears romantic. Particularly noteworthy is the attentiveness of the landlords on site, who care touchingly for the guests' needs. It was very pleasant and not intrusive. This effort by the owners is unique and is experienced rather rarely. Thank you for the lovely time in your holiday home.

Perfect, simply great
This vacation home does not need any review, it is just fantastic. Because of our dog, we wanted to avoid fireworks over New Year's Eve and looked for a quiet cottage and found one. Everything really great and lovingly restored and renovated. Super equipped, nothing is missing, especially in the kitchen. The garden is very nice, large and fenced.
Well, let's talk about the landlords. As a welcome, we first got a bottle of champagne and a very friendly conversation. When a doctor was needed, they were immediately helpful and also in retrospect always inquired about the sick person. So here too, everything is great, just like the house. We would like to thank you again very much for the great accommodation and the caring manner. We would love to come back soon.

Beautiful house in a great environment.
The holiday accommodation Lütt Hauke in Altwarp convinced us very much. The tastefully furnished holiday apartment invites you to feel good and relax, and the surroundings are simply fantastic. We spent a great and eventful week here, which took us out of everyday life.
The old fishermen's house was renovated and furnished with great attention to detail, so there was something to discover everywhere. The property is very large and there are nice seating areas everywhere that invite you to linger.
The landlords were very helpful and always reachable or approachable, so we didn't have to worry about anything.
In the surroundings there are numerous small bathing bays and beaches, which are all very well maintained and not crowded. With the well-developed cycle paths in the area, you can spend your holiday very actively and there is a lot to see. The Stettiner Haff with its nature park is also incredibly charming in terms of landscape.
We definitely recommend the accommodation!
