Activities in the area: Hikers and mountain bikers are in their element here: Torfhaus is an ideal entry and starting point for tours of all kinds. Mountain bikers can start here on tours of the routes of the "Volksbank Arena Harz", and if you haven't brought your own bike with you, you can easily rent a mountain bike or e-bike here. The small town is also a fantastic starting point for motorcyclists for the most beautiful trips.
In winter, Torfhaus is an interesting destination for downhill and cross-country skiers as well as sledging enthusiasts: some beautiful cross-country trails, a tow lift for skiers and a toboggan lift exclusively for sledders promise varied fun in the snow.
