Our holiday home is located in the holiday park "Oberer Hausherzberger Teich". You can walk about 150m to the bathing area. On the other shore of the lake is a forest lake bath (free admission!) with a playground and beach volleyball facility. You can walk, hike or jog in the forest directly from the house. In winter, cross-country skiing is also possible from the front door. The quiet, idyllic and extremely scenic surroundings invite you to do sports as well as to relax. Clausthal-Zellerfeld is a climatic health resort at an altitude of approx. 600m in the Upper Harz, surrounded by over 60 lakes and ponds. It is a university town with about 13000 inhabitants, offers varied shopping facilities and a wide range of cultural activities. For example, Germany's largest wooden church, the "Alte Münze" arts and crafts courtyard with glassblowing workshop, Germany's oldest mining museum, the Oberharzer mining farmers' market, a cinema and various restaurants, pubs and cafés.

Well-maintained and very quiet accommodation by the pond

The house is very well-maintained and clean. The amenities are great; everything you need is available, from the drying rack to the deck chair. :)
The location is unique. Although the holiday park was well-attended over Easter, it was wonderfully quiet. You rarely hear a car, mostly just the chirping of birds and the rustling of the trees.
The pond is reachable within a maximum of 2 minutes on foot, and the forest begins just a house away.

The landlords are very friendly and reliable. We can highly recommend the little house.

Contact with the landlord is great. If there are any problems, they will be immediately taken care of.
The location of the cottage is unique. The property is beautifully overgrown, so it feels like you're alone in the holiday resort. There is always something to see through the windows. Birds and squirrels are always frolicking in the trees.
The facilities are sufficient, there is everything you need.
And what we also really liked is the cleanliness. It should actually be self-evident, but unfortunately we have often experienced it differently. The bathroom and the rooms were top-notch, and the pillows and duvets seemed freshly washed to us.
We would love to come back sometime.

Relaxing days in the Harz.

A very nicely equipped cottage in an idyllic and quiet location, right by the forest. Ideal for families with children: whether swimming in the lake, playing on the playground, hiking in the forest, excursions to the nearby St. Andreasberg or Bocksberg – there is so much to discover and do. And in the evening, watching the squirrels on the cozy terrace and letting the day come to an end is wonderful. We had very beautiful and relaxing days spent in the cottage.

Ein wunderbares Gesamterlebnis

We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful cottage. More than adequate amenities for cooking, relaxing, and sleeping. Everything is thought of, even a huge spice rack is available to complete the culinary evening. In terms of location, it's also great, all popular attractions and restaurants are quickly accessible by car. Absolutely recommendable and gladly again!

Again and again!

For several years now, we have been guests at Haus Schirmer with our dog. The house may seem a bit "simple," but it is equipped with everything you need for a relaxed holiday. We especially love the location of the house, as we can start hiking in any direction without having to cross any roads. If the fridge is well stocked, you can go days without needing to drive anywhere or even leave the house! The absolute highlight is the Upper Harz Water Management System! Ideal for flatlanders to go hiking! We always love to come back! Thanks to the lovely care provided by Schirmers and Hectors!

Do not drive to the house by car.

We really enjoyed our stay in the house; nothing was lacking. Watching the birds and squirrels in the morning was just great!! However, we found it very cumbersome that one cannot unload their belongings directly by the house but has to carry everything about 50 meters from the parking lot. Other than that, we can really recommend the house to people who are good on foot!

A well-equipped holiday home in the holiday home settlement "Am Waldsee" in Clausthal-Zellerfeld. A quiet settlement of older, rustic houses in block or log cabin style. I have already been a guest in several different holiday homes. Although the house "Schirmer" had a bit less charm for me compared to the other houses visited, we felt comfortable there. The open fireplace is beautiful, but also requires a good source of firewood due to its size. The house is generally clean and in good shape. The furnishings are somewhat old but solid. The kitchen is well-equipped: you can find everything from a sieve to a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans, plenty of dishes and various types of glasses, etc. That's nice! Chairs and loungers for the terrace are also available. The slightly sunken fence on one side of the property is only slightly confusing from the outside. From the terrace, this is hidden by vegetation. We were able to sleep well in the beds, mattresses and duvets were clean and okay. Blankets for the cold time on the terrace or to put over while sleeping would have been nice. One can get used to the heating cracking at night. The family taking care of the property on-site is very nice and helpful! Unfortunately, I had an irritating encounter with the landlord after the end of the vacation: a repaired hinge, with written instructions for careful use, broke (!) with cautious use, and consequently a small amount was withheld from the deposit later on. Can happen. . .
. . . I could also expect that the things I rented function flawlessly "normally". . . That's what sticks: A nice vacation time, a generally good vacation home but unfortunately no recommendation based on the contact experience.

Natürlich können unsere Mieter erwarten, daß die Möbel, Scharniere und Geräte in unserem Haus funktionsfähig sind. Und genau so hat der Mieter Herr K. aus Berlin unser Haus auch vorgefunden.
Wir selbst haben das Wochenende 2 Tage vor seiner Anreise in unserem geliebten Ferienhaus verbracht und alles war tip top. Das besagte Scharnier war leichtgängig. Die Klappe des Oberschrankes ist kurz anzuheben, dann klappt sie praktisch von allein zu. Auf einem kleinen Hinweisschild im Schrank wird auf die Funktionsweise hingewiesen. Trotzdem war das Scharnier nach der Abreise des Herrn K. gebrochen. Das Scharnier war weder vorgeschädigt noch haben wir um eine vorsichtige und schon gar nicht besonders vorsichtige Handhabung desselben gebeten, wie Herr K. Behauptet, sondern wie erwähnt nur die Funktionsweise erläutert.
Vor ca 10 Jahren war schon einmal durch Fehlbedienung ein Schaden entstanden. Das Scharnier war aus dem Holz der Oberklappe gebrochen. Dies ließ sich mit Hilfe einer Lochplatte wieder fixieren und es gab seither keinerlei Probleme. Diese Reparatur hielt problemlos, aber das Scharnier brach!
Als Vermieter erwarten wir uns von unseren Mietern eine sachlich zutreffende Darstellung der kritisierten Umstände. Vorallem erwarten wir, daß man uns informiert, wenn irgendetwas kaput gegangen ist, damit unser Haus dem nächsten Mieter ordnungsgemäß übergeben werden kann. Dies hat Herr K. leider nicht für nötig gehalten. Der Hinweis auf diesen Schaden und der Einbehalt von 20 ,- € von der Kaution, was nur eine Anerkennung unseres Aufwandes ist, war für ihn bereits ein "irritierender Kontakt mit dem Vermieter"...
Es gehen immer mal kleinere Dinge zu Bruch, das passiert uns ja auch mal und ist auch kein Problem für uns. Nach 3-4 Mieterwechseln sind wir in der Regel selbst im Haus und kümmern uns um alle notwendigen Instandsetzungen. Wenn unsere Mieter unseren Betreuer des Hauses vor Ort bei Problemen benachrichtigen, sorgt auch er baldmöglichst für Abhilfe.
Das Knacken der Heizung rührt daher, daß unser Ferienhaus ein Holzhaus ist, das bei Temperaturschwankungen ein wenig arbeitet. Tagsüber fällt das kaum auf. Und nachts kann man das leichte Knacken auf ein Minimum reduzieren, indem man die Vorlauftemperatur der Heizung reduziert. Ganz einfach! Das Haus wird keineswegs zu kalt dabei und erreicht bei erneuter Hochregelung der Vorlauftemperatur schnell wieder die gewünschte Tagestemperatur. Alles ist genau in der Hauseinweisung erklärt. Seit es diesen Hinweis dort gibt hat sich bisher noch kein Mieter darüber beklagt. Es ist ein sehr gut isoliertes Haus, in dem es sich auch bei starkem Frost gut leben läßt.
Die vermißten Decken zum Drüberlegen haben wir aus hygienischen Gründen wieder abgeschaftt.
Der betagte Zaun auf der einen Grundstücksseite gehört unserem Nachbarn. Unser Jägerzaun ist im letzten Jahr neu gesetzt.
Herr K. vermittelt den Eindruck, als sei bei uns das Möbiliar sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Das Sofa im Wohnzimmer ist aus dem Jahr 2017, der Baumscheibentisch ist neu aufgearbeitet. Die Kiefernschrankwand im Wohnzimmer hat inzwischen eine Färbung angenommen, die wie wir finden, mehr Gemütlichkeit ausstrahlt, als eine aus frischem Kiefernholz dies vermag.
Die Küchengroßgeräte sind alle nicht über 4 Jahre alt.
Wir bekommen sehr oft äußerst positive Rückmeldungen über die Wohlfühlatmosphäre, die unser Haus ausstrahlt. Überzeugen Sie sich selbst.

Quietly located, cozy house with a beautiful view.

We were there as a couple for a hiking vacation. The house left nothing to be desired. The kitchen is top equipped. The evenings by the fireplace were very cozy. Unfortunately, we could not use the beautiful terrace at the end of March because it was too cold. However, squirrels could be observed in the garden. Due to the greenery around the house, you are well shielded from the other houses. The location of the house is optimal, it is not far from the lake and an Italian restaurant is also nearby.

Ein gut eingerichtetes Ferienhaus in der Ferienhaussiedlung "Am Waldsee" in Clausthal-Zellerfeld. Eine ruhige Siedlung älterer, rustikaler Häuser im Block- oder Finnhüttenstil. Ich war bereits mehrfach in verschiedenen Ferienhäusern zu Gast. Wenngleich das Haus "Schirmer" für mich etwas weniger Charme hatte als die anderen besuchten Häuser, haben wir uns dort wohl gefühlt. Der offene Kamin ist schön, verlangt aber auch aufgrund seiner Größe nach einer günstigen Quelle für Feuerholz. Das Haus ist generell sauber und "in Schuss". Die Einrichtung des Hauses ist etwas betagt aber solide. Die Küche ist gut eingerichtet: Man findet bis auf ein scharfes Messer oder einen Messerschärfer alles vom Sieb über eine Mikrowelle, Kaffeemaschine, Toaster, Töpfe, Pfannen, ausreichend Geschirr und Gläser verschiedenster Art etc. Das ist schön! Stühle und auch Liegestühle für die Terrasse sind ebenso vorhanden. Der etwas eingefallene Zaun an einer Seite des Grundstücks verwirrt nur etwas von außen. Von der Terrasse aus ist dies durch Bewuchs verdeckt. In den Betten haben wir gut schlafen können, Matratzen und Bettdecken waren sauber und o.k. Decken für die kalte Zeit auf der Terrasse oder zum Überlegen beim Schlafen wären schön gewesen. An das Knacken der Heizung nachts kann man sich gewöhnen. Die Familie, die sich vor Ort um die Immobilie kümmert, ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit! Leider hatte ich einen irritierenden Kontakt mit der Vermieterin nach Urlaubsende: Ein repariertes Scharnier, auf dessen besonders vorsichtige Benutzung schriftlich hingewiesen wurde, brach (!) bei vorsichtiger Benutzung, und so wurde später von der Kaution ein kleiner Betrag einbehalten. Kann man machen... ... ich könnte ja auch erwarten, dass die von mir gemieteten Dinge einwandfrei "normal" funktionieren ... ... das bleibt denn auch hängen: Eine schöne Ferienzeit, ein an sich gutes Ferienhaus aber bei der Kontakterfahrung leider keine Empfehlung.
