Description
Our beautiful and cosy holiday flat is located on the ground floor of a house with 8 flats in the 'Ferienresidenz Kormoran'.
From our previous owner we were able to take over (painted by himself) wonderful and colourful large paintings, which decorate several walls.
NEW in March 2018: the KITCHEN incl. the complete EQUIPMENT was renewed; in addition, everything was repainted and various "beauty improvements" were carried out.
Holiday complex 'Residenz Kormoran':
Our holiday flat is located in the holiday residence 'Kormoran'. In this protected complex (barrier, pedestrian traffic for cars) there is a small shop where you can buy daily newspapers, fresh bread rolls or other small items.
For the children, who can play safely outside, there is also a playground and football field. In the evening, you can enjoy a barbecue at the barbecue area (unfortunately, barbecues are not allowed directly at the house or on the terrace for safety reasons).
Flat size: 2 rooms, approx. 54 m², for 4 people (+ cot or own sleeping mats for guests if necessary).
The flat consists of a living room (with high-quality sofa bed) which leads into the dining area and the open kitchenette. A high chair for children can be provided for a small fee (please inform us of your wish when registering).
The separate bedroom is equipped with a large wardrobe and a small table and would also have space for a cot.
The floors of both rooms as well as the hallway are completely tiled with large-format red-brown tiles. The furnishings consist of Scandinavian solid wood furniture and 2 cosy leather armchairs (in addition to the sofa bed).

The small terrace (access from the living room or directly from the front garden) is a great place to have breakfast.
In addition, there is a (bicycle) shed with 3 (partly old!) bicycles, which you are welcome to use. Additional bicycles can be rented from a bicycle rental shop right next to the holiday residence.
Parking spaces are located directly in front of the house, with a fixed parking space assigned to each flat. Throughout the residence, bicycles may only be driven at walking speed, so that children can safely move around the complex on their own.
As the regional laundry has been closed, please bring your own bed linen and towels.
In the kitchen, in addition to the normal kitchen equipment, you will find the following consumables already provided:
- Basic spices + sugar + salt + vinegar + oil (please replace when completely used)
- various bags, foils and snack tins
- Starter pack with 2x dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid, 1x kitchen sponge, 1x dishcloth, 1x roll of kitchen paper
The bathroom and toilet are equipped with toilet paper.
You do not need to worry about the final cleaning (charged at a flat rate of 100 EUR).
In the high season, a change of guests is usually only possible on Sundays, as our property manager has limited capacity. However, please also contact us if an arrival is only possible on Saturdays; the guest may leave before you on Fridays or earlier.

Location and surroundings of object
Prerow is located on the Darß in the north of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The Darß is part of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula chain. With the 'Darßer Urwald' and its surroundings, large parts of this unique landscape are assigned to the 'Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft' National Park. The Prerow Bay, characterised by finest and snow-white sand, offers one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.
By bike you can reach the bakery in about 5 minutes and the beach in minutes.
The 'Darßer Urwald' (Darss primeval forest), which starts right next door, is a wonderful place to hike, and the unspoilt western beach, about 3-5 km away, offers hours of wonderful and relatively secluded beach walks. It is about 6 km to the lighthouse (horse-drawn shuttle available), where a beautiful circular path has been laid out through the moor, from which rare migratory and water birds can be observed (also elevated observation stands!).
Directly from the pier in Prerow, the beach also invites you to take a walk to Zingst (8-9 km); the return journey is then also possible by bus.
The entire Fischland-Darß peninsula is of course predestined for cycling. Many small roads and cycle paths lead across the peninsula and along the Bodden as well as partly along the Baltic Sea dam.
Various excursion boats run from Prerow on the Bodden and even go as far as the island of Hiddensee. You can also take your bicycles with you and do a combined boat/cycle tour.

New Year's Vacation 2024/2025
We were in Prerow in this apartment from December 28, 2024, to January 3, 2025. The apartment itself is quite okay. The kitchen is very nice and well-equipped. Very high-quality electrical appliances. Only the refrigerator is a bit small. It's fine for 2 people, but I imagine it would be difficult for 4. There is no oven, which I unfortunately overlooked when booking. The living/dining area was also completely okay. Unfortunately, the cleanliness in the bedroom was not so great. The mattress protectors were not clean and full of hair. (Human) Unfortunately, the pillow also had unsightly stains. After a call to the caretaker of the vacation rental, I was offered to have it picked up and washed the next day. (mattress protector) I then removed it and had to notice that the mattresses looked no better. (yellowish stains) I then turned the mattresses over, because I had to sleep somehow. Perhaps one should also check it after a certain period and possibly replace it. Nevertheless, it was still a nice vacation for us. Prerow is simply great.

After several visits to various vacation apartments in Kormoran, this was the best so far. Top equipment (everything you need is there) and very clean. Thanks also for the nice contact and the offer of using the bicycles. Gladly again!

Good domicile in Prerow
The holiday apartment "Malerei" in the residential complex "Kormoran" in Prerow. We had a very relaxed vacation here. The apartment is well furnished, clean and well-maintained. Very quiet location and only a short walk from the town center. Also very suitable for a holiday with a dog. We will come back.

Arriving and feeling comfortable is one thing, ...
... we felt equally comfortable in the cozy and tastefully furnished holiday apartment of the Rennecke family. The pleasant atmosphere of the apartment with its wooden furniture and the peaceful environment of the beautiful and well-kept holiday home settlement are the best conditions for a beautiful and relaxing holiday time. The apartment is very well-equipped; a special mention goes to the beautiful and comfortable kitchen with important kitchen utensils such as a salad spinner and hand mixer - good conditions for a healthy diet with a suitable dessert 😊.
A small protected terrace or the lawn in front of the house provide good opportunities for meals and long evenings in the fresh air. Books, board games, and a large DVD collection with films of all kinds are available for cozy evenings. We would love to come back again! Thank you for everything!

We have lived in Dresden since 1997 (my wife was born in Dresden and I grew up in Schwäbisch Hall) and have a grown-up daughter. We work as a physiotherapist and a buyer for a construction company and spend our free time doing sports (volleyball, cycling, hiking, skiing, running, swimming) and music (choir, guitar, piano); but we also like to sit in front of the fireplace with a book. Since we have spent at least 1 week of our summer holidays at the Baltic Sea every year for more than 10 years, only the Baltic Sea coast in the area of Rügen to Rostock came into question when we were looking for a holiday flat. In 2009, after a marathon search, we found our dream flat in the 'Kormoran-Residenz' in Prerow. It was 'love at first sight'...
