Description
Typical, child-friendly Swedish 'villa' on a beautiful approx. 1600 sqm plot with fruit trees. Very quiet location, at the end of two cul-de-sacs, but also not far "from the action"
Even the daily shopping (fresh bread rolls;-) can be done on foot (5 min).
The living area is approx. 145 sqm and has a kitchen with 4 hot plates, coffee machine, kettle, crockery and cutlery for up to 12 people, pots, pans, etc. A spacious living area and a bathroom with shower and toilet

On the upper floor there are three bedrooms
Large bedroom: 2x90x200cm double bed (can be extended to a 2.60x2.00m family loft with guest bed provided).
Bedroom 2: bunk bed (top 80x200cm / bottom 140x200cm
Bedroom 3: double bed 2x80x200cm)
...and another bathroom with large corner bath. There is a TV (LCD 42") / satellite system with German channels, DVD - and Blue Ray player for cosy evenings and a Playstation IV with a few games. A stereo system is also in the house. A washing machine and a drying machine are available. The terrace in front of the house offers a cosy dining area. In summer 2017 we built a spacious (approx. 35 sqm) wooden veranda behind the house. A huge lounge - corner for up to 10 people is ready for use (July 2018 / see photos). A sufficiently large barbecue is available, an open fireplace (please check in summer whether open fires are allowed - sometimes this is prohibited during prolonged dry spells) in the garden and several bicycles are also available for free use. The available canoes can be used for a small usage fee (15€/set per length of stay). Included in the set is a boat, paddles, life jackets, a mash barrel for safe and above all dry storage of water-sensitive items, as well as a two-piece roof rack (for roof rails!). In addition, we have an electronic dartboard in the shed that can be attached to the outside wall of the shed. This is a great way to play darts outside ;-) In the picture gallery you will find some photos of the items described here.

Location and surroundings of object
In the middle of beautiful Smaland, our cottage is located on the edge of a small village called Mörlunda. Mörlunda itself has a small supermarket within walking distance. The village is situated between the small towns of Hultsfred and Högsby, in the middle of Astrid Lindgren's book world. The town where Astrid was born (Vimmery) is only a 20-minute walk away. There is also the famous ASTRID LINDGRENS VÄRLD amusement park with Pippi Longstocking's villa. Lönneberga, Katthult etc. are not far away either.
Our town is flanked by the very tranquil river Eman, where the Swedish king also likes to try his luck.

Whoever rents the house may also use everything. Free of charge, of course. The barbecue is just as much a part of it as the bicycles and of course the shed on the property can be explored. There you will also find a dartboard or a game of croquet, for example, which we like to use to pass the time
The only exception is the two canoes, which have to be paid for. Since they are not cheap and have to be repaired from time to time, we charge €15 per canoe, including life jackets, roof racks and a drying drum, per length of stay.

Really cozy Sweden vacation
It is the perfect house for a cozy Swedish vacation: a quiet location, plenty of space, and typical Swedish charm. The renovation in the house has greatly enhanced it: there is now even a fireplace to cuddle up in front of. The surroundings invite great walks, and there are really beautiful excursion destinations nearby. The landlords are also super nice, very uncomplicated, flexible, and accommodating :) I have been there many times, and it is perfect in every season.

Super holiday home
We all really enjoyed it. The house was equipped with everything you need. We missed nothing. The refrigerator is indeed a highlight. The swing on the tree captivated our granddaughters. The last activity before heading home was swinging. In the mornings, we used the beautiful large dining table, which unfortunately at home we have far too little time for. We also really enjoyed the cozy seating area on the porch. All in all, it was a great holiday accommodation. During the day, we always did a lot. We were at the moose park in Malilla, in Astrid Lindgren World, in Näss, in Mariannelund in the film village, in Oskarshamn, in Kalmar, in Vimmerby, at Katthulthof, in Bullerbyn, swimming and fishing at various lakes (with very poor results, but it was still fun with the kids). To conclude, we went to the "village festival" in Mörlunda. Unfortunately, the time passed much too quickly. We would like to sincerely thank you again for the beautiful accommodation (there was even a bouquet of flowers on the table at the reception).

would have liked to stay longer
This wonderful Villa Vänlig is not directly by the lake, but we fell in love with it; it was an unforgettable week and we lacked nothing because everything was there: a more than perfectly equipped kitchen with an oriental spice supply (for our vegan daughter ;-)), emergency reserves of food like rice, pasta, coffee, and coconut milk (ohh), cozy and spacious layout of the bedrooms, a large hallway upstairs and downstairs, a mighty terrace with a giant table, a swing, a treehouse, and a rope for tug-of-war (which was happily used for internal family battles). The large selection of bicycles was gladly accepted for trips to the 7 km distant Elk Park, to the 3 km distant Lillesjö Lake, or to the landlords' preferred Marensee for the most beautiful sunset photos.
Excursions to Vimmerby in Astrid Lindgren's World, to Eksjö including the Skurugata hike, to the east coast, etc., easily fill a week's vacation or even more.
Every morning, fresh rolls from the nearby market on the breakfast table was a luxury. Our second week we booked in a holiday home right by the lake, much more expensive, spartan furnishings, unkempt... the complete opposite of Villa Vänlig, we would have preferred to go back to "our villa."
Thank you for this lovingly furnished villa to feel comfortable in!

Restful, uncomplicated ... recommendable
We were in Sweden for the first time and were absolutely thrilled with the country, the people, and Villa Vänlig. The house is located in a quiet residential area and is an ideal starting point for trips to nearby and somewhat distant surroundings: to dreamy lakes, enchanted forests with trolls and moose, cultural treasures, and of course the lake. The supermarket, just a 5-minute walk away, has everything you need for small shopping. And we also felt absolutely comfortable in the house; everyone found a place here and sometimes had space to retreat. In nice weather, the garden or the wonderful terrace calls. We found the house very clean, with everything we could have needed. The beds were very cozy; we slept wonderfully. Communication with the landlord before, during, and after the vacation was straightforward and very friendly. All in all, we felt very comfortable in the house and in Sweden, and we can definitely recommend it.

We are a family of five from Berlin and bought a little house in Sweden in 2007. In the following years, we went up again and again with friends (the Sweden Crew) and gradually brought the house into its current condition. Part of the Sweden Crew is our long-time friend Dietmar and his family, with whom we have shared the house since 2013. Every year we are happy about the nice guests, in whom we have already found some really good friends. In any case, the house is one of the best decisions we have ever made;-)
