The Helderberg Nature Reserve is only a few minutes' walk away, and the beautiful restaurant in Erinvale is only a two-minute drive away. Many good restaurants in Somerset West and the surrounding area or on the nearby wineries can be reached in a few minutes by car. From the airport you need 30 minutes to Somerset West. All the attractions of the Western Cape such as Cape Town, the famous wine region of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek or Elgin as well as Hermanus with whale watching are easily reached within 60 minutes.
The 230sqm house has an open plan living, dining and kitchen area as well as a large sun terrace with pool and two generous sun awnings, which make it unnecessary for you to set up and take down sun umbrellas. The equipment includes many things you need for a pleasant stay: among others, a large TV with German channels, free WiFi and a Bose Soundlink Revolve to listen to your favourite music. Two air-conditioning units in the living room (large ceiling box) and in the master bedroom provide coolness or warmth as needed. If the nights are a bit chilly, you have the option of switching on hot plates or infrared heaters in the two guest bedrooms and the bathrooms
Dishwasher, washing machine and other household appliances are available. All three bedrooms have adjoining, modernly equipped bathrooms with WC. There is another guest toilet inside. The master bedroom with an extra-long king-size bed and the two guest bedrooms with queen-size beds are both equipped with new, high-quality mattresses.

We bought the holiday home in spring 2019, extensively restored and equipped with new, modern furniture. Since recently, a fibre optic connection ensures a stable and fast connection to the internet. The heated pool (8.5 x 4.3 m) with lighting, installed in 2019, makes every holidaymaker's heart beat faster. With the new solar collectors, the water in the pool is pleasantly tempered even in somewhat cooler times. In spring 2021 we renewed the entrance doors. Both the main door and the side entrance doors have been replaced and have a high security standard.

A house that leaves almost no wishes unfulfilled
We found the house very comfortable and very well furnished. The location is also excellent, the Helderberg Nature Reserve can be reached on foot in 10 minutes. The many good wineries are about a 15-minute drive away. The contact with the landlord was friendly, competent, and helpful at all times. A well-maintained house that has been furnished with great love and is in very good condition! Only, and this is our purely personal opinion, a gas grill and possibly a larger refrigerator would be very helpful. As Florida vacationers, a charcoal grill is a bit tedious. Since the selection of fruits and vegetables is abundant in the supermarkets, there was hardly any space in the fridge for the purchased wine ☺️. As I said, this is our purely personal feeling!
