The history of Saarburg begins with the construction of the castle in 964 by Count Siegfried of Luxembourg. Today, Saarburg is one of the oldest hilltop castles in Germany and one of the town's landmarks.
Even though the way up is a bit steep, it is definitely worth the effort as you have a really beautiful view from the castle ruins, which were built in the 10th century. If you want to go a little higher, you can climb the castle tower to the top. Saarburg is a medium-sized centre, a Saar wine metropolis, a school and a recognised health resort. In the middle of the historic old town, the Leuk river cascades over several waterfalls.
The "Amuseum" museum at the waterfall and the mill museum below are also worth seeing
Economically, Saarburg is a medium-sized town. Wine and tourism are important economic factors in the town. Winegrowing characterises the landscape. The house is clean and cool in warm weather. The bedroom is large with a wardrobe.
The bathroom has space for toiletries.
Two nice sitting places outside.
A beautiful walk of 15 minutes through nature from the house to the centre.

Short holiday
We stayed in the apartment for 1 week in March 2022 and were very satisfied.
The apartment has everything you need for a holiday. Everything was perfect. The landlords were absolutely friendly and helpful. They also gave us good hiking suggestions.
The terrace was great.
We will be happy to come back.

Nice vacation
The apartment was small but nice. In a quiet location with a view of the castle and the Saar river. Nice outdoor seating area. The landlords were very friendly and helpful. We lacked nothing. Conclusion: Highly recommended. Will gladly come back.

Beautiful holiday flat with nice landlords
The Holderbaum family's holiday flat is located in the beautiful town of Saarburg, a little away from the centre in a quiet residential area at the end of a dead-end street. It has a separate entrance, is extremely clean, modernly furnished and very well equipped with everything you need. In addition, it offers two beautiful terraces directly in front of the entrance door, from which you have a wonderful view of the Saar. It is very suitable as a starting point for all kinds of activities. In any case, we felt very comfortable. The many excursion tips from the nice landlords also contributed to this. We will definitely come here again.

Very nice vacation apartment!
Very well maintained and clean holiday apartment. Great quiet location with adjoining garden/sunbathing lawn and views of the Saar, Saarburg and the city can be easily reached on foot.
The combined living-dining room is cozy, the beds in the well-equipped bedroom are very comfortable.
Well-equipped kitchen that has everything you need.
The landlord is super nice and helpful!
