Description

The 2.5-room holiday house for 2 to 4 people has a large, light living room with coffee table and a fireplace, a sofa bed for two people. Fully equipped kitchen with dining table, a spacious bedroom with queen-size bed and shower / WC. Cozy terrace seating area with sun loungers. From here you can unhurriedly enjoy the views over Lake Maggiore and the mountains in the direction of Italy. Parking place in front of the house. Access to the apartment from the parking lot is down a narrow spiral staircase.

The Casa Bellaterra is located above the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Sasso in a side street far from traffic, surrounded by greenery. Supermarket and bus stop are located at the church about 1 km away. Various footpaths lead from the house to the center of Orselina. If you appreciate good kitchen, you will find in Orselina a large variety. From typical Grotto with traditional dishes, to gourmet restaurants.

Orselina is located above Locarno, high above the Lake Maggiore with a sensational view of the lake and the surrounding valleys. The municipality Orselina occupies a privileged place in the of the bay of Locarno.
Just in a few minutes you are in Locarno or Ascona, in the middle of action. From the quiet part to the central location, your holiday will be a fun-filled experience. An optimal starting point for many leisure activities. Even without a car Orselina is well connected by bus or the funicular that leads directly into the center of Locarno. In the wonderful Parco di Orselina, with its magnificent amphitheater, you will find many cultural and culinary events every year.
Orselina is known for the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Sasso. Another striking point in the municipality is the completely renewed (in the year 2000) cableway that brings you to Cardada, the local mountain of Locarno. The design of the cabins, as well as the stations, was designed by the Ticino architect Mario Botta.
If you search something fancy, a special treat or want to buy your breakfast rolls fresh every day, visit the Caffè Pasticceria Cecchettin. It is recommended especially for those who loves sweets.
In a bay on the north shore of Lake Lugano, surrounded by several scenic mountains, is placed Lugano. The traffic-free historic city center with its Mediterranean-style squares and arcades, and numerous parks with sub-tropical plants, the numerous buildings in the Lombardic style, exclusive museums, the mountains, the lake and a calendar full of events invite attracts many visitors. Thanks to its mild climate, Lugano is in spring, when the camellias are in bloom, a popular tourist destination. Of the two closest mountains to Lugano, Monte San Salvatore and Monte Brè, you can enjoy a beautiful panorama over the city, Lake Lugano and the mountains

Very beautiful, well-equipped apartment with a wonderful view from the large terrace; however, the drive to and from the lake and to Locarno is longer than expected, and one has to walk down over half an hour of stairs, so we mostly went by car, and twice by bus. We received immediate assistance from the friendly property management in case of issues, and overall it was a very pleasant stay!

We spent a wonderful week in the apartment. The terrace is perfect for cozy evenings and the view of the greenery and the lake is simply unbelievably beautiful. The rooms of the apartment are large and clean. The bed is comfortable. Since the apartment is built into the rock, it stays cool even on very hot days. The parking space for the car is right at the entrance of the apartment, covered by a beautiful pergola that provides shade. Overall, we were satisfied, but there are some points that could still be improved. (see Confidential Feedback)
