The 3.5-room holiday home (half of a house) features, on the upper floor, an entrance hall, a spacious bedroom with two single beds and a bedroom with one bed (an extra bed or cot can be requested). A large staircase leads down to the lower living area, from where you can access the outdoor area via the charming veranda with a dining area. The cosily furnished living room features a comfortable sofa bed and a wood-burning stove, which creates a cosy atmosphere on cool evenings. The well-equipped, modern kitchen and a bathroom/WC are also located on this floor. From the balcony and from every room in the house, you can enjoy a panoramic view over Lake Maggiore.
Important: The gently sloping natural garden below the terrace must never be accessed by children without supervision due to the risk of falling!

Casa Bellaterra is situated above the Madonna del Sasso pilgrimage church in a side street away from traffic, surrounded by greenery. The car park is directly in front of the house. From the house, various footpaths lead to the centre of Orselina, very close to the pilgrimage church, the Cardada cable car station (funicular, cable car) and the bus stop. Those who appreciate good food will find a wide choice in Orselina, ranging from the typical ‘grotto’ serving traditional dishes to gourmet restaurants.

Location and surroundings of object

The Casa Bellaterra is located above the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Sasso in a side street far from traffic, surrounded by greenery. Supermarket and bus stop are located at the church about 1 km away. Various footpaths lead from the house to the center of Orselina. If you appreciate good kitchen, you will find in Orselina a large variety. From typical Grotto with traditional dishes, to gourmet restaurants.

Orselina is located above Locarno, high above the Lake Maggiore with a sensational view of the lake and the surrounding valleys. The municipality Orselina occupies a privileged place in the of the bay of Locarno.
Just in a few minutes you are in Locarno or Ascona, in the middle of action. From the quiet part to the central location, your holiday will be a fun-filled experience. An optimal starting point for many leisure activities. Even without a car Orselina is well connected by bus or the funicular that leads directly into the center of Locarno. In the wonderful Parco di Orselina, with its magnificent amphitheater, you will find many cultural and culinary events every year.
Orselina is known for the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Sasso. Another striking point in the municipality is the completely renewed (in the year 2000) cableway that brings you to Cardada, the local mountain of Locarno. The design of the cabins, as well as the stations, was designed by the Ticino architect Mario Botta.
If you search something fancy, a special treat or want to buy your breakfast rolls fresh every day, visit the Caffè Pasticceria Cecchettin. It is recommended especially for those who loves sweets.

For nature lovers a dream. The terrace and the huge garden are beautiful, with views of the lake, mountains, and old trees. Ideal for hiking without using the car. We also walked down to Locarno and to the lake. Going up is a bit more energetic... (but there is the funicular and the bus). Hearing the bells of Madonna del Sasso in the morning and evening gives the old house an additional dimension. The house has everything it needs, except for the Nespresso coffee machine, which we took with us.

A beautiful house in Orselina, on the hill above Locarno, with a unique view and a lot of charm. The apartment is spread over two floors, with a balcony and an exceptionally panoramic dining area, as well as a garden terrace and a large garden where you can even observe deer and wild boar! Everything you need was there (the cherry on top would be a Nespresso machine or espresso maker) and the furnishings are very tasteful. You need a car, but can walk to shops. The landlord even left us a bottle of Prosecco. We would love to come back.

Great location with a wonderful terrace and outdoor area. The view from various places is fantastic. Simply furnished vacation apartment without great luxury. It has a pool below the apartment, but it is not functionally furnished. That is very regrettable. Without a vehicle, the apartment can be reached on foot from the Orselina Chiesa bus stop in about 10 minutes. There is also a small grocery store. It can also be reached from the Orselina Albergo bus stop, which leads up 350 steps. There is also a good bakery and a grotto at this bus stop. Generally, the entire region is easily accessible by public transportation and runs at 15-minute intervals. All in all, we had a great stay!

A beautiful house in Orselina, situated on a slope overlooking Locarno, with a unique view and a lot of charm. The apartment is spread over two floors, with a balcony and an exceptionally panoramic dining area. Furthermore, there is a garden terrace and a large garden where even deer and wild boars can be observed! Everything one needs was there (the icing on the cake would be a Nespresso machine or an espresso maker) and the furnishings are very tasteful. A car is necessary, but shopping can be done on foot. The landlord even left us a bottle of Prosecco. We would gladly come back.

For nature lovers, it's a real treat. The terrace and the beautiful garden are wonderful, with a view of the lake, the river and the surrounding countryside. Ideal for walking without the car. We also went to Fuß runter nach Locarno und an den See. Rauf ist es dann etwas sportlicher...(aber es gibt den Funicular und den Bus)
The Glocken der Madonna del Sasso morgens und abends zu hören gibt dem alten Haus noch eine zusätzliche Dimension. Es hat im Haus alles, was es so braucht, außer der Nespresso-Kaffeemaschine, die wir mitgenommen haben.
