The holiday home "Muschelnest" is in a quiet location, 800 m from the beach.
The well-maintained holiday home is a non-smoking house and can be rented all year round. Please refer to the occupancy calendar for available periods. We are also happy to be contacted personally. The rental period should be at least one week. Short stays on request.
For a relaxing stay we offer you a cosily furnished holiday home. Besides a spacious living/dining room, a separate new kitchen, there are two bedrooms with shutters, a modern bathroom with shower and a freshly renovated guest toilet. On the cool days you can relax in front of the fireplace. Guest WLAN is free of charge
Parking spaces are located directly in front of the house. An 11kw wallbox is available in the garage from 09.21 (for a share of the costs). Our garden with sunbathing lawn, barbecue and garden furniture invites you to relax. For cycling tours we provide two bicycles (at your own risk). For our little guests, the house is equipped with a cot, a high chair and a trolley, the garden is completely fenced.

The holiday home "Muschelnest" is located in a quiet side street near the modernised spa "Cliner Quelle". It is only a few minutes' walk to the centre with its picturesque museum harbour, shops, bakeries, banks, etc. and varied gastronomy.
A detailed information folder gives you tips on excursion destinations in the near and far surroundings, on various golf courses, wonderful parks, castles, museums, leisure facilities for children and much more. The North Sea resort of Carolinensiel is one of the most popular holiday destinations in East Frisia.
Once an important trading post - in former times the second largest sailing port between the Ems and Jade rivers - the town still has intact harbour buildings. The Sielhafen Museum, together with other historic seamen's buildings, vividly documents the history of the sieves, harbours and dikes on the North Sea coast. Adjacent to the historic harbour is a modern yacht and cutter harbour with jetties to the islands

The fee for the Nordsee-ServiceCard is charged separately on behalf of the town of Wittmund: Adults 3,- €/day, children from the age of 4 1,50 €/day. Cancellation terms:
When the tenant withdraws from the lease agreement, the landlord will claim compensation. Cancellation up to 50 days before the start of the rental period: 20% of the rental price Cancellation up to 30 days before the start of the rental period: 40% of the rental price Up to 14 days before the start of the rental period: 80% of the rental price In case of no-show: 100% of the rental price A substitute tenant can be named.

We regularly use the Muschelnest ourselves and have therefore made sure that it is as fully equipped as possible for a stress-free holiday.
The kitchen offers sufficient crockery, in addition to a standard coffee machine, there is also a Nespresso machine, toaster, kettle, microwave, dishwasher and various cooking utensils. On site you will find a washing machine, iron and hairdryer. Toys for the little guests are also available.

North Sea holiday with dog
The vacation apartment was very good, everything needed was available. Nice small garden with enough seating and lounging options and a large sun umbrella. There is enough dishware available, which is often not the case. Bicycles, grill, and a very large wagon are available. Parking is right next to the front door.

Good location
The location of the vacation rental Muschelnest was very appealing to us, as was the modern cozy living room. The fenced garden also scored points with us and our dog.
Unfortunately, the coat rack in the hallway looked "slapdash." Jackets had to be hung one behind the other, which was annoying.
The kitchen is described as new, but the refrigerator is a disaster. When I opened it for the first time, the refrigerator almost fell out at me. It is not a built-in refrigerator but a narrow, unlit refrigerator that stands wobbly and slippery on loose wooden slats in the built-in gap. Fortunately, there were only two of us, so we managed to get our food in somewhat. When filled, the refrigerator stayed somewhat upright, although quite crooked. We specifically did not contact the maintenance service because we found it too cumbersome for the few days. The little ancient plastic kettle, in my opinion, belongs in electronic waste. Used once and the whole kitchen smelled of hot plastic. Thanks to the induction cooktop, we were able to easily do without the kettle.
The pedal bin tips forward and falls over as soon as you step on the pedal. But we could also overlook that. Since the kitchen is very tiny, we often skipped cooking and went out to eat, which is no problem in Carolinensiel and the surrounding area.
What we found very inconvenient is the fact that the main bathroom is downstairs and not upstairs, near the bedrooms. We have also arranged ourselves with this.
However, what we considered an absolute imposition is the narrow guest toilet on the first floor. One had to squeeze in sideways. pull in the stomach because the space between the open door and the sink is much too narrow to get to the toilet.
For all these reasons, we will not recommend the apartment.
Nevertheless, we had a nice holiday week in Carolinensiel because we did a lot of activities.

Unrestricted recommendation
Very cozy, quietly located holiday house. A small fenced garden with good amenities (beach chair, sun loungers, large parasol, grill, etc.) is available. Everything needed is also indoors. The beach, shops, and restaurants are within walking distance. The contact with the landlord, Mr. Tilmes, is absolutely uncomplicated. Here, one can only give an unrestricted recommendation. 👌

A cozy holiday home with personality and lovely furnishings. A peaceful little garden, perfect for the four-legged friend. Furthermore, Carolinensiel is a beautiful recreational area. We didn't miss anything. We will gladly come back if we are allowed to.
