Feeling good and cosy is very important to us. The formerly free mountain town of Lautenthal has been a recognised climatic health resort for many years and lies in a wide valley basin within the Innerste valley. The town stretches over an altitude of around 300 to 600 metres. The rightly chosen slogan "where the Harz is at its most beautiful" refers primarily to the magnificent landscape surrounding Lautenthal. Lonely scenic hiking trails through mostly natural forests invite you to hike, physical fitness as well as relaxation for the soul can be regained here. For families with children, Lautenthal offers an extremely well-maintained outdoor swimming pool heated to 22 degrees for all ages during the summer months. A local attraction is the Lower Saxony Mining Museum, where visitors can ride in the still-original mine cars just as the miners used to. A gem of a special kind is the probably unique Lautenthal Brewery Museum. The lifelike equipment, which was used for brewing until the post-war years, provides an excellent insight not only into the Harz brewing tradition. The Innerste reservoir, about 4 km away, offers variety in many ways. There are opportunities for sport and recreation: A path for inline skating leads from Lautenthal to the dam and around it. Lautenthal's convenient location offers short distances to the old imperial town of Goslar, and tourists need only a short time to reach the Hochharz mountains.
