The coastal bathing resorts such as Nessmersiel and Dornumersiel are only a few minutes away by car
The shopping town of Hage and Lütetsburg with its moated castle and golf course are also within easy reach.
You can reach the islands from Nessmersiel or Norddeich by boat or from Nessmersiel on foot through the mudflats with a mudflat guide.

In the middle of the quiet zone east of Norden, near Hilgenriedersiel, there is a small piece of intermediate zone in the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park. Here, an old bathing spot (the only natural one on the East Frisian North Sea coast) may still be used as a bathing spot or beach. There is nothing but an access path in the middle of the salt marshes with bizarre shapes on the break-off edges. Not even a toilet is available. Within view is Norderney with its landmark lighthouse. It is a quiet spot with its own charm.

Vacation with grandchildren
For us, a perfect day starts in the morning with a trip to the beach at Robin Hood's Bay. We'll have lunch at the coastal village of Staithes and end the day with a walk along the cliffs at Whitby.

wonderfully relaxed
Accommodation was very nice, you feel comfortable (like at home). A quiet environment, wonderful to relax. The children can stay outside, no through traffic. The location behind the dike is very conducive to relaxation. We will be happy to come back.

Cozy holiday apartment with rustic charm
If you are looking for a quiet, secluded holiday apartment with lots of garden for a family holiday with 1-2 children, then this is the right place for you.
The holiday home is located at the end of Deichstraße. At first, you get the impression of driving into nothingness, but then you discover the old Frisian house where you can spend your holiday away from the hustle and bustle of tourists to relax and unwind.
The only natural beach on the North Sea coast is only about a 20-minute walk away and can also be easily reached by bike. If you like, you can rent bikes for a small additional charge.
The very large plot of land around the house offers plenty of space for games and sports activities; there is even a playground with a slide, swing, and sandbox, as well as a small hut where you can play table tennis protected from the wind.
The holiday apartment itself has a rustic charm, which is emphasized by the wood-burning fireplace. Especially on stormy days, this creates a very cozy atmosphere in the living room and invites you to a TV evening with cookies and tea.
If the weather is nice, you can also enjoy the day outside on the terrace in a beach chair or lie in the sun on one of the sun loungers. The apartment has a dishwasher and washing machine, there is a microwave and a separate freezer. The two bedrooms are separate, as are the bathroom and toilet.
You shouldn't expect luxury, but for relatively little money, you get everything you need for a nice holiday here, with a few small compromises. It doesn't matter if the floor or the roof creaks.
And if there should be a small problem, the landlord is usually immediately on hand to help.

About us: We have been owners of the country house Letzt Hus an't Diek in Hilgenriedersiel since 1986. We love this old house situated at the end of the road directly on the dyke. Since it is our parents' house, we have a special relationship with it and like to be in Hilgenriedersiel ourselves sometimes, unfortunately then mostly for maintenance or work in the garden. Why exactly this object: It is the location, unobstructed to the west. Here the sunset can still be seen and not only described. No through traffic, just the occasional car that gets lost because there is no further to go, or cyclists who want to explore the area The good, unadulterated North Sea air, even if the weather doesn't suit you. The absolute peace and quiet with no road traffic. Only the cries of seagulls or field and meadow birds can be heard. This also pleases the fallow deer and the pheasants, which come right into the garden because of the scattered fruit. Special advantages: Ideal for children . The natural beach
