The Sonnleiten is our home away from home and your refuge for hours of sunshine and magic in South Tyrol. We have furnished modern and cosy holiday flats exactly as we would want them to be: spacious, comfortably equipped, cosily furnished and, as the icing on the cake, a roof terrace with private whirlpool and telescope for stargazing.
Wellness: enjoy time out - relax with pleasure. A light-flooded pool, two saunas, one Finnish hot, the other mildly humid, a hay bed and a sunbathing lawn invite you to relax. You can also dream away in the floating lounger under the walnut tree and massages complete the relaxation experience.
Playground: Kids can conquer the playground with trampoline, tree house, sandpit, slide, swing, table tennis, table football and natural bowling alley.
Services: A big plus point and popular with our guests are the comprehensive hotel services with which we sweeten your time out in our holiday flats in Steinegg: from bread roll and newspaper service or breakfast buffet to picnic basket, cold dishes in the evening, barbecue package, drinks service and evening menus.
Green holidays: Holidays without a car are possible with us in Steinegg! If you're travelling by e-car or e-bike, you can refuel directly at our hotel. And you don't have to feel too guilty about your electricity and hot water consumption either: our in-house photovoltaic system and solar panels cover a large part of our consumption.

The Dolomites Residence Sonnleiten is located in the idyllic village of Steinegg, near Bolzano. Steinegg at 823 metres is a picturesque mountain village in the heart of the Rosengarten-Latemar area of the Eggental valley and thus at the gateway to the Dolomites. The sunny high plateau is the first star village in Europe and, thanks to the perfect view of the starry night sky, offers exciting stargazing hours. South Tyrol's first and only Max Valier observatory is located here. The Planetarium South Tyrol, the Peter Anich Solar Observatory and the Planet Trail also provide in-depth insights into astronomy.

Steinegg is a tranquil village. You'll find everything you need here and can set off for numerous highlights, sights and activity tips.
Shops: groceries, general goods, magazines and cigarettes in the village; Bolzano's arcades offer nice owner-managed shops and boutiques with everything your heart desires.
Restaurants: some restaurants and pizzerias are within walking distance - we are happy to advise you on wonderful hikes to alpine inns, great restaurants in the surrounding area as well as festivals and gastronomic events.
Excursion tips: in Steinegg & the surrounding area you can visit the observatory, solar observatory, planetarium, planet trail and local history museum. Not far away are Karneid Castle, Trostburg Castle and Bolzano/Bozen with the highlights Ötzi Museum, Nature Museum and MMM-Messner Mountain Museum. Ritten offers the most beautifully shaped earth pyramids in Europe, the Seiser Alm is the largest high alpine pasture in Europe. Lake Carezza and the Bletterbach Gorge are also not to be missed on your exploration tour.
Activity tips: Hiking in the Dolomites is not only the miller's delight... but also the guest's joy! Empress Sissi, Winston Churchill and Agatha Christie all appreciated the beauty of the Dolomites. The mountain massifs of Rosengarten and Latemar, Puez and Geisler, the Schlern Nature Park, the Seiser Alm, endless forests, soft alpine meadows and steep rock offer hiking tours for families, beginners and experienced hikers! Around Steinegg, healthy, clear mountain air and one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in Europe invite you to enjoy a hiking holiday.
Bikers can explore the surrounding mountain pastures by MTB or conquer the panoramic Dolomite passes on a racing bike. The valley cycle path takes you all the way to Lake Garda - the railway will take you back.
