Holiday home on the beautiful East Frisian North Sea coast in Neßmersiel.
Our holiday home is located in a quiet residential street. A parking space is directly at the house.
The bakery/supermarket is within walking distance (opening hours depend on the season).
The Sturmfrei and the wellness oasis are also approx. 400 m from the house.
The distance to the harbour and the beach is approx.
Nessmersiel is located 5 km northwest of Dornum, directly behind the dyke. It lies at an altitude of 0 NN. The harbour, originally built around 1570, from which grain and rape were shipped to Bremen, Hamburg, Holland and Norway, silted up due to dyking for land reclamation and had to be abandoned around 1700. It was moved closer to the sea, but by 1930 it was no longer navigable. It was not until 1969/70 that a ferry harbour was built, from which Baltrum is served. From 1885 to 1977, Nessmersiel belonged to the district of Norden. Since 2001, Nessmersiel has belonged to the municipality of Dornum. In July 2006, the 20th anniversary of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park was celebrated on the beach at Nessmersiel. Nessmersiel has a lot to offer. On our website you will find numerous photos of our own undertakings.

East Frisia is a region in the far northwest of Germany and consists of the districts of Aurich, Wittmund and the independent city of Emden. East Frisia also includes the islands of Borkum, Juist, Norderney, Baltrum, Langeoog and Spiekeroog. The island of Wangerroge belongs to the neighbouring district of Friesland. They are offshore from the mainland, along a length of 90 km. Dike construction has made the agricultural use of large areas possible. Without dikes, large areas would be washed over by the tide 2 times a day.
For centuries, the region was dominated by agriculture and fishing. The region is considered one of the strongholds of the Low German language; an estimated 50 percent of the inhabitants still speak East Frisian Low German. The town of Norden is the oldest town in East Frisia and is home to the East Frisian Tea Museum, the Ocean Wave swimming pool and the seal sanctuary.
East Frisia
East Frisia lies in the warm temperate zones, the wind often blows stronger here than in the German average. The low temperature differences, the steady wind and air rich in salt, ozone and iodine, with a high degree of purity and humidity, form the stimulating climate of the North Sea coast. This stimulating climate is said to have a healing effect. In addition, there is increased ultraviolet radiation and, on the islands, above-average sunshine duration.
The entire Künsten region is part of the UNESCO Wadden Sea World Heritage Site and is under special protection.

very nice holiday home
A very nice and well-maintained holiday home with everything you need for a great holiday. Dishes and glasses in sufficient quantity, a fully equipped kitchen. We used the beach chair in the first row every day. We can only recommend the house, super nice contact with the landlords. We will come again.
