Our holiday home by the lake offers you space for up to 6 people on a total living area of almost 80 sqm.
It is equipped with:
- a generously furnished living room with adjoining kitchen area on the ground floor
- two bedrooms with 3 beds each on the upper floor
- spacious bathroom with shower and WC on the ground floor

The surroundings
The village of Tannenhausen is only about 6 kilometres from the district town of Aurich and only about 20 minutes by car from the North Sea coast.
From Tannenhausen you can reach all the sights of East Frisia in a short time.
In the immediate vicinity in a northerly direction you will find the largest high moor lake in Germany - the Ewige Meer (Eternal Sea) - in the midst of a 400 ha high moor landscape you will find a unique natural landscape here in East Frisia, which is one of the rare landscapes that has remained in its original form for mankind.
Bathing opportunities
The bathing lake in Aurich-Tannenhausen borders directly on our holiday home. You can walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes. The lake is located in the middle of the Tannenhausen recreation area. The lake offers a long sandy beach with a very large sunbathing lawn. Groundwater flows through the lake, there is no groundwater inflow or outflow. Because of the white pebble beach, locals jokingly call it the "Rimini of East Frisia". The lake has been certified as having the best water quality for years. Bathing is supervised by the DLRG. The ADAC and also the TV magazine TV Hören und Sehen have rated the bathing lake among the best 50 bathing lakes in Germany. So the lake is also ideal for bathing with children. There is a separate, 1.5-metre-deep non-swimmer area and shallow-sloping shore zones. There is also a slide, a playground and water toys for hire. In addition to a kiosk, there are also boat, bicycle and beach chair/lounger rentals at the lake. In the kiosk located directly at the lake, visitors will find an opportunity to linger over coffee, cappuccino or a cold drink with a view of the lake. You, as our guests spending your holiday at the bathing lake, will also find a place here, either indoors or outdoors, to have a small meal.
Fishing opportunities
The Tannenhausen lake has a total size of approx. 0.2 square kilometres with a depth of up to 20 metres. There are designated fishing areas for anglers. These are within walking distance of our holiday home (approx. 100 m). You can fish here mainly for eel, perch, bream, pike, carp, tench and zander. The necessary guest permits can be purchased at various issuing points. You as our guests enjoy the advantage that, if you wish, we can obtain the fishing permits for you in advance. However, it is then necessary that you send us a copy of your "fishing certificate" with the return of the rental contract. If you still need fishing equipment, you can buy it in the shops in Aurich (3 km away) or Moordorf (6 km away). In our holiday home you will also find a water map with other fishing waters in the vicinity. If you are interested in a fishing trip on the North Sea (for mackerel), we would be happy to give you the necessary information or to register you for a possible trip. However, there are only a limited number of places available on a fishing boat. This so-called mackerel fishing usually takes place at the weekend. We will of course be happy to provide you with more details on request.

In summer 2016, one of the most modern water skiing and wakeboarding facilities in northern Germany was built at the Tannenhausen bathing lake. Wakeboarding stands for lifestyle, sport and action! A unique interplay of technology, sport and leisure fun
Summer is never boring at the Tannenhausen bathing lake. The beach volleyball and beach soccer courts as well as the 50m swimming lanes offer plenty of room for exercise. The DLRG-supervised bathing beach invites you to relax, and SUP, pedal boat rental and JetGolf are available on site for a fee.
The spectator terrace and beach club provide a relaxed atmosphere and a real "beach feeling". NEW in 2021: AQUAPARK, huge water fun for the whole family!Jumping from diving towers up to 3.50m high, being catapulted through the air by an air cushion, climbing exciting climbing towers, sliding down big slides into crystal clear water, balancing, shimmying or jumping into the water on the big water trampoline: On the floating water park, big and small participants experience an exciting day at the bathing lake Tannenhausen.- the largest floating water park in East Frisia.- Rodeo Splash in the shallow water for the very young.- Different routes and difficulty levels also for the sporty and ambitious.

Weekend at the lake
We only spent a weekend there, but we would book it again.
Everything you need is there. Nicely furnished. Quiet location with a bit of a view of the lake.
Very nice and uncomplicated landlords.

Feeling good from the first second
We had a super great time. The Janssen family has a beautiful holiday home. They are very very nice people and the contact went smoothly. We will come back!!!!

It couldn't be better
Great house, very well equipped, top location and very clean.
The landlord was very nice and also booked at short notice with our dog, he was very flexible, thank you very much.
The recommendations for sights and localities were definitely worth it.
We would come back anytime.

Expectations exceeded.
We spent 1 week in the beautiful and well-equipped holiday home. And it will not be the last time. We didn't do any fishing but found lots of mushrooms. The landlords are very, very nice people and I'll see you next time.

A beautiful week in Vienna
We were just 1 week in the holiday home of the Janssen family. We really enjoyed it. Since we are often in Aurich (the children live there), we have already visited other accommodations. This accommodation ranks at the top. From there, you can go on very beautiful bike tours. And there is a small shed available for the bicycles. The Janssen family visited us, and it was nice to meet them. The proximity to the bathing lake is great, you can take a walk around the lake in the morning. We would love to come again.
