Super relaxed vacation

The property and the two holiday homes offer everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The holiday homes are equipped with a lot of love and very high quality. Nothing is missing. The direct access to the lake is fantastic, and using the boat is highly recommended. We had a lot of fun on the boat trips and could relax wonderfully. Beautiful nature and dreamy canals. The hosts or landlords do everything to ensure that the vacationers feel comfortable. On the huge property, which is beautifully landscaped, children or dogs can play extensively. All in all, we had a wonderful vacation. A huge thank you to Konny and Torsten for creating this idyllic place and making it available to us travelers. We wish you nothing but the best. We had read the very good reviews, booked, and can only confirm the reviews after our stay! Starting with the great view, the breakfast on the terrace in the well-kept garden, the beautiful location by the Bürgerpark, and the short distances to the city, along with the very nice and helpful hosts and the good and loving furnishings of the apartment. We had everything we needed and spent relaxing days with the Stagen family.

Surrounded by vibrant history, your vacation apartment or affordable holiday home in the heart of Templin offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. Templin captivates with a series of historic buildings. The town is encircled by a well-preserved city wall that stretches almost two kilometers long. It is up to seven meters high and is considered the best-preserved medieval fortification in northern Germany. Along it are about 50 so-called Wiekhäuser, originally integrated into the city wall for defense purposes. Among the many historic city gates, the Berlin Gate, the Prenzlau Gate, and the Mill Gate are particularly noteworthy. These gates date back to the 13th and 14th centuries and are distinguished by their tower-like structures and ornate gables. The Owl Tower was Templin's prison for a long time. It is accessible only through a single entrance at a great height. Among the churches in the town, the Baroque St. Mary Magdalene Church from the 18th century and the Gothic St. George's Chapel are notable. Additionally, among the modern buildings, there is a well-known attraction: the Seehotel Templin. It was built as the "Friedrich Engels" recuperation home in 1984 using GDR panel construction and is the largest hotel in Brandenburg. In 2016, the facade was redesigned by Leipzig Pop Art artist Michael Fischer-Art as the largest facade artwork in Europe.

The Naturtherme Templin with its bathing and sauna landscapes offers fun and relaxation for the whole family. Not just on rainy days, you can lose track of time here with splashing, swimming, sweating, and water slides. The Naturtherme Templin attracts with a salt content of 6%. Sweating in the saunas followed by a cold bath also stimulates circulation and detoxifies the body. A Finnish sauna, a moist, mild farmer's sauna, and steam baths are available for this purpose. A special feature of the sauna landscape is the Kraxenöfen, whose application originates from the Alpine region. The herbal steam treatment with the scent of hay and fresh herbs warms the shoulders and back, thus relieving tension. Additionally, the Naturtherme offers various treatments, wellness packages, and massages. The evening can be wonderfully spent in the private vacation apartment or holiday home.

What can you experience in Templin with children?

Children love trips to the Western Town El Dorado Templin. Current opening hours of the park can be found here. A day ticket for adults costs 21€, for children aged 4-16 years it costs 18€. A small tip: If you book an online ticket in advance, the entrance is cheaper. Or visit the Angermünde Zoo. Admission is 4€ for adults, 1€ for children aged 4-14. Opening hours (as of November 2023) vary: • April to October: 10 AM – 6 PM • November to February: 10 AM – 4 PM • March: 10 AM – 5 PM The route of the disused railway track between Templin, Lychen, and Fürstenberg can be traveled like in a movie with a railbike. For a faster and more thrilling experience, visit the Kart Track, considered the most beautiful outdoor kart track in Germany. Opening hours can be found on the website. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace than on the kart track can find accommodations in the countryside. The nature in the Schorfheide-Chorin forest landscape offers miles of hiking opportunities and plenty of space for your four-legged family members—ideal for a vacation with dogs. The area has been designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2011. Otters and beavers, swamp turtles, sea, fish, and screaming eagles, as well as cranes, live in the reserve.

Where can I eat out in Templin?

Regional cuisine from fine to hearty

With a vacation apartment in Templin, you will encounter numerous cafés, restaurants, and manor houses in Templin and its surroundings. The Brandenburg cuisine is rich and hearty. Potatoes are ubiquitous—a legacy of Frederick the Great. From the forests come game and mushroom dishes, and from the many lakes of the Uckermark come pike, eel, carp, and pikeperch. Special regional delicacies of the Uckermark include Kloppschinken (breaded boiled or smoked ham), beet stew (Wrukeneintopf), and lilac kräude (sweet-sour sauce made from elderberry pulp). From jams and juices to meat, fish, and flowers, you can buy everything directly from the producer. A culinary attraction near Templin is the Hammelspring Chocolate Factory. What is a must-see in Templin?

A tour through the city's art scene

Those curious about the many historic buildings will find an exhibition on the city's development over the past centuries at the Museum of City History Templin. This small museum is housed in the large room between the gate and the foregate in the Prenzlau Tower. It is open from Friday to Tuesday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Admission is 3€ for adults and 1.50€ for children aged 7-13 (as of November 2023). Fans of modern art will enjoy the collection of the Templin Art Association, which specializes in graphics. Regular exhibitions are held in the gallery in the New Town Hall, where works by artists are frequently purchased for the collection by the Art Association. Or become an artist yourself: The Templin Art School offers numerous courses in different artistic disciplines. Just outside the city is the former knight's estate "Kulturgut Metzelthin", which is the professional venue of the Uckermark National Theater. The city's Multicultural Center hosts an open-air cinema in the summer. The center also houses a music café, a gallery, and spaces for events.
