Villa Buena Vista

We were at Villa Buena Vista for the second time. A radical decluttering of the large plants in front of the swimming pool improved the view of the valley and the sea even more and was very impressive.
We arrived and were relaxed in two minutes. Everything is clean, well-prepared, the most important things are available, and we could start our vacation. The beautiful lounge area, the clean and compact kitchen are just the prelude to the main highlight: the terrace, which is actually more of an inner courtyard and has some seating areas, including a covered dining table. To the right, there is a shower, and straight ahead of us is the small but fine pool with a view of nature behind it and the sea and mountains beyond.
As soon as we sat down, we didn't want to do anything else but look forward. We did do some things, however, such as beach walks, swimming sessions in the deep blue water, a trip to the nearby Costa Navarino golf course (ET course!), as well as a trip to great excavations and monuments in Messini. The culinary highlights were our favorite part: within a few minutes, there are so many great places to eat with authentic Greek cuisine that we could hardly eat enough. Our tip: Try many, many appetizers, including those you have never had before.
The 4 stars (instead of 5) for service have nothing to do with the accommodating landlords or the property itself, but one should simply expect to mostly take care of themselves in such an apartment, for which you need a car or a bike here. By the way, the Buena Vista 2 apartments are a two-minute walk away, and there is an even larger pool.
In general, you shouldn't talk too much about such unique insider tips, but here we want to share our enthusiasm.

We spent a week in Agaliani and felt very comfortable in the Sundowner Suites. Beautiful, well-maintained flat with everything you need. Very large terrace (shared with the other two flats) with pool and stunning views of the sea and surrounding mountains / olive groves. House/apartments are nestled in a very attractive cluster of holiday homes at Agaliani above Kalo Nero.
Beaches, shopping and tavernas are about 15 minutes away by car
Very nice hostess who took care of our well-being and was always available.

Large stone villa Mistraki Messinia

All 5 adults and all children (9-11 yrs) felt at home in the villa after just a few hours. The beautiful rooms with separate bathrooms were quickly distributed, the fridge was filled with everything we needed for the first hunger and the next 2 breakfast days. Space without end, seats in the house, on the balconies, the small alcoves, at the wonderful pool (10m long, wonderful to do leisurely laps), the outdoor shower, a table tennis table and again and again the wonderful panorama. I don't know where to stop..... Everything is very well maintained, the kitchen is fully equipped, there is a washing machine (we washed our beach clothes regularly). The village is more like a settlement with 10 houses and 5 of them are inhabited. It is a very secluded place, there is no through traffic and the next village with a supermarket is about 15 minutes away. To get to the sea and the beaches, you should allow about 30 minutes. We got lost a few times at the beginning, but soon it was no longer a problem. The beaches at Finikounda, Kompi Beach, and the beaches towards Petalidi are absolutely recommended. In Chrani, you should pay attention to the Caribean Beach, which is very romantic, especially in the evening, with a beach bar and the corresponding atmosphere. Simple but very nice. Dimitri the housekeeper is super friendly and comes regularly to clean the pool and check on things. He owns a taverna in Kalamaki and his wife Christina is, in our opinion, the best cook. Simple, original Greek home cooking, which is also delivered to the house if required. Koroni, Methoni, Pylos, Finikounda are definitely to be visited, also the day trip to Messene was an experience. In Pylos, the snorkellers got their money's worth at the island of Sphakteria, a dive centre located in the village is also absolutely recommendable here. Thank you for this wonderful accommodation, we went home happy
