Holiday apartments & homes on a lake in Gard Gard

In our opinion, the price-quality ratio of this holiday home is not in order. For the price you pay you get insufficient value: the house is not very well maintained, here and there dirty, in terms of decor not special and also not very comfortable. Outside: the terrace tree that is so wonderfully shaded in the photo is unfortunately no longer there. There was a parasol, but that does not get you into the August heat. Furthermore, the lounge furniture was broken or of a third-rate quality. The pool was nice, and was regularly cleaned by a handyman to whom you could immediately ask or pass on other things. The terrace at the front borders a very quiet country road (large hedge between them) on which hardly any traffic runs. There is a large hedge in between, so that's fine, but you don't have a view. At the rear it is, but apart from a small, atmospheric terrace, the house has nothing to do with it. A pity, because you miss that sense of space and being "in the French hills". Inside: The 2 large bedrooms on the upper floor are very warm at night (August), the fan only helps a little. And then they also have to do it (one was broken). The 2 small bedrooms at the rear were small, damp and dirty. (Does the cleaning team have enough capacity to clean this house in a few hours, we wondered.) There are mosquito nets against mosquitoes, but of poor quality. The bathrooms, except one, are very small ( "French"). The large living room we have not used much. The kitchen is nice. Although we first had to get rid of all the crockery properly, because salt and rinse aid have probably been missing for some time as maintenance products. house with 8 people Had rented it because it had 5 bedrooms Because we were on holiday, we made the best of it, but we also regularly felt "cheated" This price is NOT worth this house.

We were very enthusiastic about the accommodation. The accommodation is located in the middle of the pine forest, away from everyday life and yet close enough to the next village. There are lovely hosts waiting to help you with words and deeds and wonderful holiday tips. Many thanks for the wonderful stay!

We had lovely days in the holiday home "La Baumette". It is well equipped, even though there is no TV. However, it has a powerful WLAN.
The large sun terrace is a great place to spend time. There are enough tables, chairs and sunbeds and there is a table tennis table and boules balls.
You are away from traffic noise and at most hear something from the neighbouring house (children playing).
The location is good and there are many possibilities for excursions. We went to Nimes, Uzes, Cascades du Sautadet, Mornas and the Ardeche. Of course, the numerous weekly markets are a must - simply wonderful. From the house you can go for a hike or a bike ride with the good bicycles available
The landlord provided us with lots of information in advance and was always open to our questions and concerns. The landlord's family, who live right next door, are also friendly and helpful
It is a pity that the tap water cannot be used as drinking water because of nitrate contamination. But it can be used for cooking,
otherwise you have to get water from the supermarket.
The rooms are large, only the small bedrooms are really only children's or teenagers' rooms
Dog owners need to know that the garden is not completely enclosed.
In summer, you certainly need good mosquito repellent because of the nearby Rhone.
For cool nights there are two good fireplaces and wood is also available.
There is a lot of information material and good cookbooks in the house. We immediately tried out some recipes from them. Delicious!
