Casale San Francesco is a wonderful private villa with pool in Umbria, immersed in the beautiful countryside typical of this region. The accommodation gives the opportunity to spend peaceful journeys and go through tourist itineraries of great interest. Actually it is located at a close distance to renowned cities like Assisi - popular all over the world for its unique architectural beauty and for its patron S. Francesco - Perugia, Gubbio, Todi and Orvieto. This farmhouse is entirely made with stone and has been recently renovated in full respect of the old farmhouses'features of that area. The property, which is partially fenced-in, offers its guests an equipped porch to eat together or relax, a gazebo, a barbecue and a wood oven. It is surrounded by a beautiful park with a great swimming pool with Roman stairs, perfect to cool during hot summer days.
This farmhouse is on two levels. It is composed of a wide living room with fireplace, a kitchen with fireplace, two double bedrooms, one of which with en suite bathroom with shower, a bedroom with twin beds, bathroom with shower. ASSISI
Assisi is a town in the province of Perugia, in the heart of the region Umbria and situated on the western side of the Subasio Mountain at 424 metres above sea level. It is an artistic centre of great interest, renowned mostly for being the city where the saints Francesco and Chiara were born, lived and died. Its medieval origins with all the monuments, churches and buildings have survived centuries of history and are still protected by a majestic perimeter fence. The town is immersed in the heard of the Natural Park of the Subasio Mountain, offering its visitors fine views and panoramas, besides the great historical and artistic monuments.
TO VISIT
Assisi is very rich in churches and museums of great historical and artistic interest. Inevitable is the tour of the Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi, Santa Chiara, of the cathedral San Ruffino, the church of Santa Maria Maggiore and of the Eremo delle Carceri (hermitage), set on top of the Subasio Mountain. As for the museums, you can admire the Diocesan Museum and the crypt of San Ruffino, the Museum of the treasure of the Basilica of San Francesco, the Contemporary Art Gallery, the Civic Museum, the Municipal Gallery and many others. Those who love nature can have excursions, relax in the silent woods or reaching the top of the Subasio Mountain. On the other hand, those who love sport, can benefit of well equipped gyms, swimming pools and fields.
EVENTS
Assisi offers many different events and religious celebrations throughout the year, but its calendar is also plenty of artistic and cultural exhibitions: from art and antique exhibits to conventions, educational courses, concerts and shows. The most famous folkloristic event is Calendimaggio, a festival that transforms the city and evokes past times. Originally it was a profane festival, but then, over the years, the memory of San Francesco and his carefree childhood have become part of it. The festival lasts three days and is held on the first Thursday, Friday and Saturday of May.
