Are you looking for a holiday home in southern Sweden that offers you absolute peace and relaxation but also the opportunity for a variety of activities in the midst of the beautiful Swedish nature?
Our house is situated on a hilly, varied nature plot of almost 8000 square metres in the middle of the Småland forest. There are tall trees, a birch grove, an old birch avenue, a small pine forest, sunny lawns, always shade, plenty of space to let off steam and play, and various fruit plants and berries
Herrafällan is a largely privately used holiday home, which is simple but practical and furnished with great attention to detail and is constantly being expanded. The property is almost invisible from the road (hardly any traffic) and the small wooden path that leads to the nearby lake.
Tour of the house:
You enter through the entrance with vestibule into a small, square hallway. From here you go up the stairs on the right to the upper floor, a door leads straight into the kitchen, which is fully equipped: Schnibbeltisch with chair, cooker and oven (new in 2018), small dishwasher (2018), large fridge-freezer (2018), microwave, kettle (2020), coffee maker (2019), lots of crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots, etc., and a large kitchen.
From here you enter the large living room with fireplace, 2 comfortable couches (2018), coffee table, dining table with 4 chairs and a bench for up to 3 people (2018), flat screen TV with German SAT reception and DVD player, music system with Bluetooth, board games for young and old and a book corner. Further seating is available throughout the house.
The toilet with hand basin and washing machine (2018) is centrally accessible from the kitchen and living room. From here you enter the shower, also equipped with a hand basin. Special feature: The toilet is also accessible from the garden.
If you go up the wide, old wooden staircase with handrail to the upper floor, you will reach a small hallway from which you can enter a bedroom with a double bed on the right. Straight ahead you reach a large bedroom with a double bed (individually adjustable head and footboard, 2018) and a cot. From here you reach another small bedroom with sleeping level and bunk bed for up to 3 persons . All rooms here have storage space for clothes and bedside tables.
The main house is about 88 square metres.
On the property there is a small guest house (about 12 square metres and about 15 metres away from the main house) which can be rented additionally - of course only by the tenants of the main house. It has two single beds, 2 bedside tables, a sink, shower, emergency toilet, coffee maker, hot plate and radio (see photos). "Klein Herrafällan" is ideal for accommodating heavy snorers, visitors during a family holiday, a friendly couple or the teenage children. It can also be added or re-booked on site at any time for a small flat fee (per week), please just contact us.
Outside area:
On the property you will find enough space for various leisure activities, recreation, relaxation, barbecues or just undisturbed sunbathing. You can play together (many outdoor games are available) or find 'your own spot'. There is a levelled football pitch with goal, 2 swings, shade and - weather permitting - sun. We have a fireplace, lots of garden furniture, tables and benches for eating outside.
Outbuilding:
In our old log cabin we have built a cosy, sauna, with rustic charm (2 walls have been insulated from the outside so that the old planks are visible) and a stove to heat everyone up! New since spring 2019: our outdoor shower by the birch tree.
Because even in Herrafällan the sun doesn't shine every day, on rainy days you can play one of the many board games inside or, since autumn 2017, organise a darts or table tennis tournament in our new activity rooms in the old barn. There are 7 bicycles, some of which are already older, which we maintain and care for once a year - these are also available for free use. Our canoe (Canadian) is located at Härtsjön and is included in the rental price. There is also the possibility to rent a rowing boat.
Additional canoes and bikes can also be provided - with a little more advance notice - for a fee, please enquire well in advance. You can also make use of our laundry service and book towels and bed linen, each per person.

*) Kalmar, the gateway to Öland, is only 80 km away.
*) On Öland there is the Djurpark.
*) To the Astrid Lindgren World in Vimmerby only 100 km, about 1.5 hours by car.
*) Various fishing possibilities in the immediate vicinity (lakes and flowing waters), fishing permits can be purchased online. Fly fishing is well known in the Alsterån, which is only about 2 km away.
*) With a total length of 3.3 kilometres, the zipline at "Little Rock Lake" in south-eastern Småland is the longest zipline of its kind in Europe - that's "as good as around the corner".
*) Bicycle paths and hiking trails right in front of the house, a tourist bike tour along the old narrow-gauge railway leads through Sävsjöström.
*) By public transport you can get to Sävsjöström (bus connection from/to Växjö), from there it is about 3 km walk.

Rentals are made annually from the beginning of the Easter holidays until the end of the autumn holidays - by arrangement also during the rest of the year.
In the main season, the arrival day is always Saturday, but it is also possible to book short breaks of only 3, 4 or 5 days, which allow other arrival and departure days. Occupancy of the main house with a maximum of 7 persons plus infant, occupancy of the guest house with a maximum of 2 persons.
We provide a WLAN router (mobile internet from TELIA) with SIM card. Any available credit can be used / consumed. The guest can purchase credit and simply load it onto the card, we are happy to help with this.
The guest house with 2 additional beds can be booked additionally (at any time) and costs € 139 per week.
The bicycles are partly older and therefore included in the price free of charge.
Special conditions are possible for longer rentals. With advance notice we can provide: 2nd canoe €65/ week, additional bikes €15/ week/piece.
We want our guests to feel comfortable and have a good rest. We also don't like hidden costs and long final bills - so since 2019 the rental price includes:
1) the final cleaning of the main house
2) firewood for fireplace and sauna
3) our canoe
4) if the guest house is booked also the final cleaning of the guest house

Highly recommended!
We spent a wonderful week in Herrafällan with our 2 children (4 and 0). The location is super idyllic and the area very spacious - you can let children jump around here. The house is lovingly furnished, you feel comfortable right away, and everything you need is there. The small children's room behind the master bedroom was a hit: with bunk bed and nice and narrow as well as its own window. The information folder from the landlord is super informative, nothing is missing. Even the "support" and accessibility+assistance in case of a little problem is great! On the premises, there are various seating options, plenty of space to play, a shed with a table tennis table, and an amazing sauna - can be heated up to 100 degrees - truly remarkable!
In Lenhovda (about 10-12 minutes by car), there is a great coffee roastery (with a café) and an ICA + Coop - especially Coop is very clean! The cottage is a great starting point for activities in the surrounding area: a walk to the lake, nature reserve Våraskruv (about 5 minutes by car; highly recommended: beautiful hiking trail approx. 1.5 - 2 hours orange path), Grönåsen Elk Park (very natural park - grilling moose sausages at the large fire pit at the end! TOPP), visiting Kalmar (about 1 hour by car) and Öland -> worth it for a day trip! etc.
If you want to come with additional family members, e.g. Close friends, grandparents, small family with children) can also book the small sleeping cabin on the property! The price-performance ratio is very fair! Absolutely recommended overall!

A great family break
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed switching off in the midst of nature and exploring Smaland. Communication with the owners was so great, so helpful and committed... something I have not experienced before with "standard organizers".

Pure relaxation
A very special place in the midst of seemingly endless forests and very close to beautiful lakes: the house is superbly equipped and lovingly furnished. And if there wasn't so much to discover in Smaland and the in-house canoe and bicycles, you wouldn't really need to leave the relaxing tranquillity of the huge garden. The children loved the table tennis table and the many games; the adults spent so much time in the sauna.

Enjoyed every second!
It was our first stay in southern Sweden and the best vacation in years! We spent most of our time at the house and in the nearby area, found plenty of berries and mushrooms, saw many animals, and enjoyed the peace and seclusion. The house, the property, and the sauna are fantastic, thank you for allowing us to stay in this beautiful place.

Lovingly furnished house with a large plot
We were as a family with two children (16 and 13) at the Herrafällan house. We have rented many holiday homes already, but we never had one with so many possibilities - sauna, table tennis, dartboard, hammock, various seating areas, beautiful grounds with fire pits, grill, bikes, boats, etc. It simply offers something for every age and every weather. The landlords take great care of the guests from a distance, are always available, and wonderfully uncomplicated. Thank you both, Kolja and Cajus!
Conclusion: For people who prefer it a bit more secluded, a full recommendation.
By the way, we were there without a car. Works well, you just have to plan your shopping well.
A real culinary highlight in the vicinity is Micke's Restaurang.

Third time's the charm.
For the third year in a row, I ended up with a changing team in Herrafällan, and the flawless hat-trick has been absolutely worth it. It now feels a bit like coming home. Thanks to the peace and splendid nature, you can recharge your batteries in a relaxed way and simply let your soul unwind. The delicious bonus this year was the forest around the house, providing plenty of chanterelles. The communication with Kolja and Cajus was excellent again, and everything in the house was spotless and well-equipped as usual. Unfortunately, the week was over way too quickly. Maybe next time it should be two weeks on the fourth time?! :)

Dream vacation in a beautiful setting.
We had a fantastic holiday in Herrafällan with our 2 young children. We have never felt so relaxed in any other vacation. The well-equipped and cozy house, the spacious property (favorite spot: hammock), the rustic sauna... there is so much more to highlight. The children could roam freely and explore nature, with little traffic and plenty of peace, silence, and the beautiful landscape. Almost every evening ended at the campfire under the starry sky. Kolja and Cajus are outstanding hosts; we have never felt so warmly welcomed in any vacation accommodation. We would love to come back!

We will come back!
We (four adults with three children) spent two wonderful weeks in Herrafällan. The cottage is simple but practical, and you feel very comfortable in it. However, with the fantastic location and great weather, we hardly stayed inside. Our children played on the meadow (consider a tick vaccination), enjoyed meals outdoors, and our evening campfires. The Alstern Lake with its great bathing area is about a five-minute drive away. We all loved this place! Our men went fishing in the rowboat, the tranquility and the beautiful nature are simply unique. Kolja and Cajus, thank you so much for everything! Until our next vacation in Herrafällan, we can only hope to preserve its magic in our everyday lives.

Heavenly spot in Sweden

Sweden for real
Easter 2019, we spent a wonderful week at Herrafällan. The house is beautifully quiet in the middle of the forest and offers everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The contact with the landlords was always very friendly, quick (if you had a question) and reliable (starting from the contract to the refund of the deposit). You can tell from all the details that they have put a lot of thought into what is important for a relaxing holiday. The house is lovingly and practically furnished, we felt comfortable from the start and didn't miss anything this week. Our son especially liked the barn with the opportunity to play table tennis and darts. We adults will surely remember the moments of absolute silence with a coffee in front of our lovely cottage for a long time... Sauna, fireplace, secluded location, what more could you want? We found the location of the house to be strategically advantageous. One can reach many interesting places on a day trip (our personal highlights were the Zipline Sweden at Little Rock Lake and Kalmar), but there are also a thousand beautiful corners to discover in the immediate vicinity. In short, a heartfelt thank you to Cajus and Kolja for the excellent organization and the opportunity to experience this magical place. We will always remember this vacation fondly and would be very happy if we could come back again, maybe with a bit more time. Because here you really get to experience Sweden!

Traumhaft
We were able to spend 2 wonderful weeks at Herrafällan. Our little daughter wrote on the postcards, our cottage is hidden somewhere in the forest. Truly dreamy. It is a huge property with lots of lawn where you can play ball games, there is a soccer goal, a barn with a ping pong table, many bicycles in different sizes. The house is very cozy, we hardly got up, lit the fire to have that cozy atmosphere again. The fire pit in front of the house was also used daily. We were allowed to spend many cozy hours there. Nearby are many nature reserves where we discovered Swedish hiking. It was just wonderful!

Alone location in a great landscape
Very lovingly furnished house with all modern comforts and hot shower in an absolutely secluded location, great grounds with places to drink coffee in the garden in every direction. Garden furniture and super equipment also outside or in the barn.
Contact with the landlords very friendly, always quickly available and helpful.
We had such good weather that we couldn't take advantage of all the facilities on the property. The landscape is wonderful and varied and many nature reserves are within cycling distance. Good bikes are provided. Super. Unfortunately, it is not possible to walk to the nearest bathing area, which doesn't matter in autumn and spring. The huge grounds around the house are unique.

Back in Herrafällan
After spending a wonderful week in Herrafällan last year, we were naturally delighted to be able to return here again. And this time we were not disappointed and had a wonderful time. The communication with Kolja and Cajus was once again excellent, you couldn't wish for better hosts. A lot has changed on site, for example in the now even more comfortable equipment in the house, but especially thanks to the sensational sauna in the garden. But the best argument for a trip here is the tranquillity and seclusion in this wonderful natural setting. In this sense: All good things come in threes, perhaps already in 2019!

Great natural location, beautiful house, super contact
Extremely beautiful, quaint house in a great secluded location surrounded by forests, lakes and nature reserves. If you like that kind of thing and don't mind the simple but adequate furnishings, this is the place for you. Another highlight was the in-house wood-burning sauna and the always helpful and quick contact with the landlords. Despite the seclusion and tranquillity, you feel well looked after when you need it.

Beautiful house, superb plot
We spent two wonderful weeks here. The tranquility and nature are simply unbeatable! The huge property with play barn is paradise for children, and we adults loved to have our coffee at different spots or just enjoy the nature. Since the weather was fantastic, we mostly went swimming in the surrounding lakes or took walks - it was a very relaxing vacation! Our landlords were always approachable and more than helpful. When our youngest had trouble with the bicycles, a smaller bicycle was immediately brought and the tractor ride was also an experience. Thank you so much! Because it was so beautiful, my brother and his wife with their baby came after; this was possible because the small annex house could be rented spontaneously as well. It was so lovely, we will definitely come back!

Pure relaxation!
On our way to the North Cape, we took a break here. The house is located in the middle of the forest, the property is amazing! The entire forest is full of blueberries. Absolutely beautiful!

Great time
We were looking for a house at short notice for the last week of the Easter holidays. It should be quiet, without much hustle and bustle and surrounded by beautiful nature. What we found here was a direct hit, totally isolated and yet not out of the world. The weather cooperated and we could spend a lot of time outside and on the property. My husbands often went cycling, we girls went to the sauna.
The house is very well furnished and fully equipped. We would love to come here in the summer ... maybe next year?

A pearl with a wonderful location
To bring my parents closer to my enthusiasm for Sweden, I booked a vacation week in Herrafällan somewhat randomly. The description and location of the holiday home sounded too good to be true, so naturally, the anticipation was high. And what can I say, it was simply fantastic. The house is lovingly furnished, clean, and at least for us, we didn't miss anything at all. If you are looking for unnecessary luxury, you are certainly in the wrong place; however, if down-to-earth, tranquility, and nature are important to you, then you will be happy in Herrafällan. The accompanying property is huge and offers plenty of space for children to romp and play. However, the biggest asset is the dreamlike location in a wonderful landscape, with absolute peace and far away from other buildings. The only negative point was that time passed way too quickly :)
Particularly noteworthy is the absolutely lovely and accommodating nature of the landlords, who went above and beyond in their organization and communication efforts. And it is precisely this kindness and love that can be felt in Herrafällan! We will definitely come back one day. Tack så mycket!

Relaxation in Swedish nature
Good facilities, cozy furnishings, complete kitchen and bathroom, everything clean, all duvets are new, very quiet location with a great large property in the middle of a larger forest area. On rainy days, you can play table tennis or darts in the large barn, among other things. The nearest lake is also not far away. You feel at home right away, gladly again.

Beautiful house in a wonderful location
My husband and I spent a very relaxing week in Herrafällan. We felt very comfortable right away. The house is cozy and furnished with attention to detail. Everything is well thought out and nothing is missing. The beautiful surroundings and the property are particularly noteworthy. 2 lakes and a nature reserve are located in the immediate vicinity.
